Desert and drinks

Went in Saturday evening. Cute quaint place. Served was friendly and attentive. Good selection of wines. Ordered the ny strip and tiramisu. Along with a moscato and for desert a 14 yr Glenlivet. Steak was delicious and was the desert.

What a nice surprise in Sebring. I travel here for business and always frequent cowpokes or the inn on the lake. Decided to try The Cellar, so glad I did. Nan the bartender was spectacular, friendly , offered suggestions, but not all in your space. I travel solo, so it's nice to know this is a solo friendly bar and restaurant. Had the lobster bisque it was loaded with lobster, the best I've had since Martha's Vineyard. Had a great Bombay dirty martini, then had the pear pillows, this was a tad salty for my taste the only reason I am not giving a five star. For dessert I had the tuxedo dessert, this is not housemade, I've had it in other establishments, but the presentation was on point. I will be back.

Another great dining experience at The Cellar. The Ruby Slipper is a great drink and the Salmon Venezia is delicious!

Did you know I collect dive bars? Yup, I do. I've collected dozens and dozens, maybe hundreds and…read moremy latest acquisition is a good one! Backstory- To know ones surprise the owner is Sheila and she's had the joint for about five years. The first surprise is they are open 2 PM-2AM seven days a week and Sheila works every hour! That's right; twelve hours a day, seven days a week. Yikes! The second surprise is that before she became a bar owner, she was a phycologist. That makes for some interesting conversations! Atmosphere- Come on folks it's a dive bar! Before this it was a fruit stand and before that it was a gas station. You're coming here for a cheap drink, good company and not the décor. It has a pool table, darts and a TouchTunes jukebox. BTW- The parking lot is big. Adult libations- Full bar of course. Not really a specialty draft place; just the common stuff. The same with the wines. This place is also a liquor store or sometimes called a bottle shop. That means you can bring a bottle home! So when it's 95 outside, stop in where it's dark and cool and have a pop or two and some stimulating conversation with an interesting lady!

The Sandhill Grill - Skirt Steak with Chimichuri was an awesome lunch!

My home is in Highlands County and the biggest restaurateur in the county owns three wildly diverse…read morerestaurants and this is one of them. I've eaten here many times, but this time my meal was exceptional! Arriving- This place is out in the boondocks of Avon Park! Trust your GPS to get you started. Once you are closing in there is excellent signage. Of course, you're parking at the clubhouse and there is a decent lot. Watch out for golf carts! Atmosphere- This is a golf club restaurant that is open to the public. It's a big, bright, airy place with two large rooms and a beautiful bar. As many of the customers are just off the golf course, it's very casual. It has quite a few TVs for catching a game but it's definitely not a sports bar. Customer Service- Our server was a bit of a mix. She was very new, very nice, but lacking in knowledge. With a little time, I think she'll be great. Food- A combo of unique and classic American fare. You've got your burgers, chicken parm and alfredo dishes. There is a selection of flatbreads that are awesome, and a giant pretzel served with warm beer cheese that is incredible to share! I was on a mission. I had seen an 8 oz. skirt steak with chimichurri on the menu. It's not often I see chimichurri and I was drooling. I paired it with some fries and looked forward to an amazing lunch. It was out in good time. For a lunch plate, it was a very nice presentation. The nicely seared steak was coated with chimichurri with some additional served on the sided. The pickled onions were a nice touch. The fries were beautifully cooked. The steak was fantastic and a perfect medium rare. The chimichurri was bursting with flavor and the fries were exceptional! The meal was an easy five stars, but the service was a bit off. I'm going with four stars and a strong recommendation to get the skirt steak!

Our hostess, Parker, knew we had a reservation and was happy to see us. She quickly added two extra seats and helped arrange decorations, etc. Our servers, Janelle, Emma, and John were cheerful and very accommodating! (That's saying something, isn't it!?) Thank you, Sandhill Grill, for accommodating us again this year. Three days later, the team is still talking about our annual birthday party. ps Our combined ages for 2025 is 2,105 years with an average of 75.1 years FUN‼

-- My craving was satiated! -…read more Cowboy Steak Salad popped into my brain and the craving was so strong I jumped into my car and drove the11 miles to this place. Here is what happened- The Chain- Based in Tampa, there are around 140 locations with the majority in Florida. They can be either franchised or corporately owned. They tend to use existing spaces so the interiors can vary quite a bit. Over the years, I think I've been to four of them. Arriving- This one is on the northbound side of US Route 27. It's in a plaza fronted by the local MickyD's. Just look for the golden arches. Plenty of easy parking. Pro Tip- If you are a Yelp Check In person you'll frown. The address is screwed up and maps about 5 miles away so no Check In! Ambience- These guys bill themselves as a Family Sports Restaurant and that's about right. Zillions of TVs! You'll be surprised how small it is. The u-shaped bar seats about 15. Booths around the edges and mostly high tops in the middle. There is nothing unique about it. It's clean & neat and otherwise unremarkable. Adult Libations- Full bar with maybe ten taps and lots of bottles. Not a fancy craft beer place. You'll have seen the selection many times. I ordered a pint of Goose Island IPA @ $6.50 but it was 2 for 1 so not only tasty but a great deal. Wi-Fi- Kind of a mess and needs work. There are four or five unsecured obvious listings, but they either had no internet or required registration which I'll never do. Fortunately, Xfinity had a strong local hotspot, so I was good to go. The App- Solid with great reviews! If you are ordering to-go or delivery, the app is a must. Customer Service- I sat at the bar, and my bartender was wonderful. Five stars and absolutely no complaints! Food- Giant, giant menu. They try to satisfy everyone. That rarely works but they give it a great try. It's American comfort and bar food and you've seen variations of it a million times before. I ordered my Cowboy Steak Salad @ $16,99 and specified medium rare. It comes with blue cheese dressing, but I subbed ranch with no problems. It came out exactly as I was craving. My steak was tender, sliced nicely and cooked perfectly. In addition to the greens, my salad included roasted corn, diced tomatoes, bacon crumbles, onion crisps and shredded jack cheese. All I can say is yum! Conclusion- So the place is nothing fancy or particularly original, but it was clean with a great bartender, very good entrée salad at a competitive price. It gets a solid three stars from me!

This is one of the finest Italian/Pizza/Sub shops in the area and I've never talked about their awesome cheesesteak! This review rectifies this. Customer Service- So I blew into order my cheesesteak to-go. The young lady at the counter was a little chatty as I am and just fine. It took me maybe two minutes and my sammich was out in about five more. No choice but five stars! Food- So they bake their own rolls here which is a big plus. The gold standard for cheesesteak is an Amoroso roll from the Philadelphia area. These are not that but very good. There was plenty of tender meat with no fatty pieces. Good stuff! Here they add peppers onions & mushrooms, and I have no problem with that, and they were tasty. They use White American cheese, and it was tasty and there was plenty of it. Now for something weird and wonderful. A couple of years ago a good friend asked me to try adding pepperoni to my cheesesteak. I did and it was awesome! I've been doing it ever since and this time it costs me an extra buck. The basic sandwich is $11.99. I brought this bad boy home, and you can see my picture. It was an excellent filling cheesesteak, and I love supporting a local business. Five stars!
