Chicken piccata
Ramon V.

I was skeptical of this place driving in because it was in some kind of country club. However it was actually fantastic and open to anyone. Service was great, food was great, prices were reasonable. I had the chicken piccata with pasta which was very good. My girlfriend had the grilled shrimp with the potatoes au gratin which were delicious and we also had cheese curds. Overall great place, especially considering there are not that many places around here. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Backstory- To know ones surprise the owner is Sheila and she's had the joint for about five years. The first surprise is they are open 2 PM-2AM seven days a week and Sheila works every hour! That's right; twelve hours a day, seven days a week. Yikes! The second surprise is that before she became a bar owner, she was a phycologist. That makes for some interesting conversations! Atmosphere- Come on folks it's a dive bar! Before this it was a fruit stand and before that it was a gas station. You're coming here for a cheap drink, good company and not the décor. It has a pool table, darts and a TouchTunes jukebox. BTW- The parking lot is big. Adult libations- Full bar of course. Not really a specialty draft place; just the common stuff. The same with the wines. This place is also a liquor store or sometimes called a bottle shop. That means you can bring a bottle home! So when it's 95 outside, stop in where it's dark and cool and have a pop or two and some stimulating conversation with an interesting lady!

Our appetizers were great- we had delicious jumbo shrimp and the flowered ricotta zucchini was delicious! While our group had a variety of dishes, the steaks were cooked perfect. The lobster was tasty but a little over cooked for one person. I had the filet stroganoff and the steak was perfect although I wish it had more sauce because I love more of a goopy sauce. My son had penna alla vodka and said it was delicious. To the end the meal, they gifted my father a tiramisu for his birthday and we ordered a few other desserts- all delicious! Wonderful evening and great customer service! It was the perfect spot for a special occasion and birthday!

The restaurant is beautiful, and our server was so kind, taking time to explain the menu, desserts, and drinks. She checked on us regularly and made sure we were taken care of. The food was delicious, the prices were fair, and the portions were generous enough to fill you up without being overwhelming. The desserts were good, though none of us completely fell in love with them. Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely be back to try something new the next time I visit Sebring!

If you are in Sebring, you need to stop at Chicanes. The restaurant is simply the best in town. The…read morebar area is really nice too. The staff are so attentive. The wine list is amazing! Wines from all around the world. Their list rivals the finest Miami restaurants. I started with a Green Goddess Wedge Salad. The Green Goddess dressing was delicious. It was a nice change from the standard blue cheese wedge dressing. My entree was the Suprema Christina, a classic from 1992. It's a tender chicken breast pan sautéed with mushrooms in a sherry lobster sauce. It came with two jumbo Key West shrimp and linguini pasta. The side green beans were pan seared and nicely wrinkled. The whole dish was an A+. I also enjoyed a nice Justin Cabernet Sauvignon. This restaurant and hotel are nicely positioned near the water. The lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas. I highly recommend visiting this great establishment.

Chicanes Promises Upscale Dining but Delivers an Uneven Experience…read more Chicanes carries itself like an upscale dining room, which is why the night's missteps stood out more than they should have. The evening began on a sour note, and not because of anything on the plate. A heavy downpour had turned the entrance into a shallow lake with slick footing, the kind that makes every step feel unsure. My husband took a hard fall, wrenching his back and bruising his hip. Another guest later mentioned the same slick approach, which tells me this is more than bad luck. For a restaurant that draws an older crowd, safety at the door should not be an afterthought. Inside, the welcome was much warmer. The staff was friendly and our server Ethan handled the holiday rush with calm attention. He stayed present without hovering and made sure we had what we needed. If only the kitchen had matched his level of care. The Thanksgiving menu looked promising, but the execution never quite reached the level the price tag promised. The lobster arrived overcooked and clinging stubbornly to its shell. The sauce meant to lift it fell flat. The butternut squash bisque was pleasant enough, though short on depth. The apple walnut salad was a clear winner. Crisp, balanced, and bright. It deserves a permanent spot on the menu. The entrées continued the theme of missed opportunities. The vegetables needed seasoning, especially the Brussels sprouts, which tasted like they had skipped the last step before leaving the kitchen. The potatoes au gratin stole the show, rich and comforting, which only highlighted how muted everything else tasted. For a meal tipping the scale at around $140, the food should meet the standard the setting implies. Chicanes has the bones of a great restaurant. The staff is strong, the room is inviting, and the menu choices read well. But the flavors need more care, more confidence, and more seasoning. A place aiming for an upscale experience has to deliver more than ambiance. There is potential here, but potential is not enough at this price. With steadier footing at the entrance and sharper execution in the kitchen, Chicanes could be worth the splurge. Tonight, it wasn't.

Awful! We live in the area and come often.. we sat at 7.. took 20 minutes for server to even get to…read morethe table.. we received our food at 9! That's right 9! We ordered 3 burgers (2 med, 1 well done, the well done being for a child) and 2 tunas.. all 3 burgers came out wrong (wrong temp and wrong toppings, one burger had wire brushing in it, which owner argued, saying there's no way) tuna was ice cold, and not seared cold, like fridge cold (which again owner argued saying there's is no way) . Server was great and apologized over and over ( which she should not be apologizing she's not the one in the kitchen) owner (female) finally came to the table, asked us how our dinner was. When we expressed how it was, she began to argue with us, saying there is no way that things were wrong. At one point addressing the server as if she was the one who made our food. At this point, we had enough and knew it was not going anywhere! The owner did take off 1 burger and 1 tuna.. which was appreciated. After being talked down too, we all expressed at the table, that we would rather just pay our bill and leave! Not one time were we rude, disrespectful or mean in any way to be spoken to the way she spoke to us. Absolutely wild experience! We truly love this place.. but this has definitely set a tone. Edit... Her response says it all! Facial expressions were because we were absolutely appalled at the fact that she was arguing about our experience! While ahi tuna is supposed to have a cool center the fish was ICE COLD.. FRIDGE TEMP FROM TOP TO CENTER! When asked to take it back to heat it.. it was microwaved.. which then turned it gray.. but once returned that pink center was cool, not FRIDGE COLD! The wire brush was in the burger.. she argued with us stating it was a hair from the onion(which burger was supposed to have no onion) .. even though you could perfectly see it was a copper wire of some sort! Mind you it was found at the end of the burger. The reason we didn't take the offer of new food, is because we were done.. 2 hours to get our food, and they waited till the absolute end, to approach our table! By that point we had eaten what we could and she was speaking to us by this point like we were awful people.. WHY WOULD WE STAY ANOTHER HOUR! Especially after being talked to like she was! We couldn't get a word in! So as you can tell about her response from here, you can only imagine her response in real time!!! Horrible display of an owner!

It felt & looked like a ghost town and the food we purchased from the Asian / Thai place was not that good especially for the price. When we got the text our food was ready , we asked for napkins, and the girl told us they were available around the corner towards the bar... really? For the price we paid you couldn't give us napkins that were sitting there? We were only allowed the ones that came in the utensil wrap when a pile of extra napkins were just sitting there next to it after we spent over $35 dollars is not good customer service. The crab Rangoon tasted like it was purchased from the Costco freezer section when you want a fast hors d'oeuvre to have for an at home party. It was dry and tasted old. Actually Costco's tasted better. The Pork Bao bun not good the pork is supposed to be a little crisper, and mine was soft and barely cooked. I only ate one bite. Also ordered the dumplings. They were just decent. We also ordered a smashed burger from Fat Maggie's and asked for the works only to have received the text our burger was ready. We go up to get it and it's just the burger sitting there. I had to ask the girl to get us the works we asked for. Not sure why it wasn't all ready for us when it was a simple one burger order and they were not busy. The burger was good but with a smash burger, it's hard to get that juicy medium burger enjoyment as the burger was crispy on the outside. No fault of Maggie's that's just the trend it was still good and it was nice someone walked around asking everyone if they liked their burger. You deserve more than to be crammed at the end of the kitchens and should move to the middle into the larger space as it gave the illusion that you were not as famous as you are and that you're a tiny business when you're not. Kudos on your great tasting burger though. Now to the building, i feel bad the joinery has the lake to walk around and a great outside area for IG influencer pics back drops where you can relax and sit back with style I did not see that here at this location and since there is no lake to look at you truly need more outdoor aesthetics like a "lawn" area with outdoor games for people to hang out at or more of an amateur works greenery outdoor vibe or host, Pilates and yoga classes to draw more ppl in. It needs something. Sorry this was long it just had to be said imo anyway and my girlfriends.
