I can't believe I've never reviewed this restaurant. We've been coming here for years and the food is always great. The staff is friendly and helpful, welcoming us with a smile and great hospitality. In fact, the catfish is nostalgic for me because it reminds me of my grandmother's cooking. Her hush puppies (we called them corn dodgers) were a 10 and those at The Catch are as close as you can get. My husband always gets the shrimp basket which is without equal in OKC. The breading is perfectly crispy and crunchy. I get the catfish/shrimp combo basket. There are many choices on the menu if you want to avoid fried food. I've sampled a few other dishes and never had a bad experience. Both meals are served molten lava hot from the kitchen. Thankfully they are served on a mountain of fresh French fries that you can eat while the shrimp and catfish cools down. It's not a fancy place, you will serve yourself but I'm fine with that. If you want the best catfish or shrimp in OKC then look no farther. read more

The Catch is another restaurant I really like, but don't frequent as often as I should. A friend and I were talking, and he mentioned how much he likes their red beans and rice. So a couple days later, I stopped by for lunch. I went with the catfish - yes, they call it "catchfish" - and crawfish tails, red beans and rice, and got a to-go red beans and rice for my friend. Everything I've had here has been pretty good. I enjoy their gumbo and the shrimp étouffée, the po boys... The breading on their fried foods is flavorful without being too salty. The food we received was well prepared. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp pasta. Please review the picture and tell me where the namesake of the pasta is. There was no shrimp looking at it but upon digging I found two small shrimps. I asked why the shrimp pasta has no shrimp and I got something about the Etoufee. At any rate, she brought me more shrimp and a little more sausage I wasn't expecting. The other dishes were really good and came out hot. If there was one criticism they had, it would be the hushpuppies are too small and the flavor of the hushpuppy muted because of the frying. They need to be bigger. One was a fish and Shrimp basket and the other the Chicken tender. Both were piping hot. Overall, it was good but I expect the pasta to have its namesake, shrimp, as the main player for $15. It was an after though the way it was served. I appreciate and thank them for the "extra" shrimp and sausage. You order up front and sit and eat. I am extremely disappointed to say I will never eat here again. I don't understand how an establishment, takes away your kids menu because you've had to many adults ordering kids meals. That's on you as an establishment to hold boundaries with your customers. As a fellow restaurateur I know the struggles but to force me to pay $2 more for a meal for my 4 year old daughter seems more like a cash grab to me. I think you can do better. read more

I got the catchfish tacos they were so delicious!! I originally ordered pico on the side but the pico was the perfect addition! They were amazing! I'd definitely order again! I look forward to trying their other menu items. I got corn and potatoes on the side and it was okay but I'm sure it's better if you get a boil bag. TO THE OWNERS of THE CATCH!!! You have an incredible opportunity to grow your business significantly if you take a different approach to location selection. Right now, many of your spots feel more like bars rather than family-friendly environments, and they lack enough seating. In each location, the seating is too limited, and it deters larger groups from dining in. People would flock to your restaurant if you created spaces with adequate seating for larger parties, along with having actual wait staff instead of just a cashier. Your location near Belle Isle, close to Nichols Hills, has a fantastic menu that stands out among other restaurants in the area. Your food is quick, easy, and delicious, with short wait times, but the seating and atmosphere are holding it back. If you offered seating for 10 to 20 people and cleaned up the dining areas to appeal to a more upscale crowd, you would attract more diners who appreciate good Cajun seafood in a pleasant setting. I highly recommend updating all your locations with these changes. Consider playing contemporary jazz or classic music from the 1960s or 1980s to set the tone. You can still have a separate bar area with TVs, but focus on improving the front-of-house experience. Invest in welcoming, cheerful staff who create a fun and inviting atmosphere, instead of the current get-in, get-out vibe. Also, rethink the tipping system--let waitstaff earn tips based on their interaction with guests, which will incentivize better service. I strongly suggest trying these changes, especially at your Belle Isle location near Nichols Hills, and watch your business thrive. I wouldn't consider myself a Cajun food connoisseur or even a Cajun food fan. Mostly because I never had it growing up and it's never something I crave. My wife enjoys it though, so figured today was a great day to throw in some Cajun for a change. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my platter. I had a House Special plate of 1/2 Shrimp Etouffee & 1/2 Jumbo Shrimp. Instead of fried, I asked them for grilled shrimp. The etouffee came on a bed of rice, couple of hush puppies, garlic bread, the shrimp and for my side - fried okra. I finished everything on my plate. The etouffee was flavorful and hearty. And I especially liked the hush puppies. They were pretty small but had a light sweetness with a good texture. The garlic bread was like a nice thick slice that someone pressed down way too hard. Looked unimpressive and wished they hadn't done that. My wife got seasoned fish tacos. It was fried fish fillets in two tortillas with red cabbage, cheese, pico, avocados, and jalapeño ranch. It came with 2 hush puppies and fries. She enjoyed her tacos. The fries were really good- the crispy kind with double coating. We ended it with banana pudding. It was probably the only thing we didn't like as far as taste is concerned. It was sweet but kinda bland to us. The wafers seemed watery (not soft) and the bananas were not ripe. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast. The ambiance could use some help and felt more like a fast food place. We've been here several times and each time it's better than before. We love the Admirals Platter (ask for it grilled/blackened!), crab legs and fried CATFISH! They have the best fried catfish anywhere in the metro. It's cooked fresh and served steaming hot. Their manager is awesome and attentive, the food is amazing! Oklahoma isn't known for fish and seafood but you can get great food at The Catch. If you drink beer/wine they have it for $1 each. read more

We walked right up to the counter and ordered. They have lots to choose from so it took us awhile to decide what we wanted. The guy behind the counter was really patient. He explained a few things to my dad which was really nice. We sat down and they brought us out our food. It was on Real glass plates!! They didn't bring us silverware so we had to get up and get our own. The silverware was really cheap plastic but it worked. Seemed odd to have such nice plates and then such cheap silverware. I got the grilled shrimp plate with rice, garlic bread, hush puppies and fried okra. The rice was plain and really bland. It needed some type of seasoning or sauce. My shrimp were large and really good. The hush puppies were small but tasted good. The garlic bread was ok. The okra was average. Both my parents liked their fish. Dad had the Alaskan pollack and my mom had fried catfish. They both agreed the rice wasn't great. Dad had French fries which I tried. They were really good. I LOVE The Catch!!! I honestly think they have the best fish around!! I always get the whitefish. The filets are huge! My kids love it too. They will easily eat a piece each and they are both under age 10. Red beans and rice: quite a bit of sausage in it. I find it spicy, which I love. Not overly spicy to the point you can't enjoy it. Popcorn shrimp: my spouse's go to every time. It is tasty and has not been over cooked to the point that it is rubbery. The French fries are good too. They do sprinkle Cajun seasoning on them so if getting for a kid, you may ask for none as my kids do not care for them with the seasoning on them. But they are good crisp, cut potato fries, not processed fries. Service and food is quick and comes out hot every time! read more

My husband and I both got the basket that came with fish, shrimp, and chicken tenders. All 3 were delicious. My only complaint is that the catfish breading was not crispy.i would have enjoyed it even more if it had been. The shrimp were very big and plump. I ordered the beignets to try and they were horrible. I've had them many times in NOLA. The ones at the catch were just not good. I took one bite and threw them away. If I would leave a 1 star review I absolutely would. My mother has been visiting me from out of town and wanted crab legs, so I sent her to The Catch. I was so disappointed when she came home upset that she wasted $40+ on crab legs that she COULDN'T eat... This restaurant needs to advertise that they don't pre-crack their crab legs OR offer tools to crack them and get the meat out. They offered her plasticware. So then after asking the young guy at the front if they have tools, he explains no because they are afraid they would get stolen. Then she goes on at ask if they pre-crack them in the kitchen- also no. I mean, Sam's Club frozen crab legs are pre-cracked. So this is ridiculous to me that a SEAFOOD restaurant does't off that that, it's almost comical. Don't go to The Catch if you want crab legs or to be accommodated. read more

This place has been a favorite of ours as long as they've been in the metro area. Today however I learned some items were being removed or minimized on the menu. Cheese grits are no longer on the menu as well as onion rings and dirty rice. A Cajun style restaurant without grits and dirty rice is NOT a Cajun style restaurant. So it's really just another fried fish place that offers boils. Fairly boring in that light since we have plenty of them in the metro. What set The Catch apart was the Cajun menu/side items. Additionally the shrimp étouffée has been put into the appetizer category. Unless you want the half and half. I'm a little salty on this since a good étouffée is a favorite for me and I typically come here just for the étouffée. The half and half was good. Just adds five extra jumbo shrimp to the dish which was good but crispy fried shrimp dropped on top of warm étouffée kind of makes for soggy shrimp. The catfish was good as usual. Fries, Cole slaw, hush puppies, and okra all were tasty and fresh. It's sad though when a good restaurant starts removing signature menu/side items. I do understand food cost but I would gladly pay an increase in menu pricing to keep a good restaurant with its full menu during a pandemic or otherwise. The staff was and is amazing. Despite the menu changes the people are still courteous and fast. They keep the place clean and are quick to assist when needed/asked. read more

My husband said the fried catfish was delicious, but I wouldn't know because I do not like seafood. When I saw chicken tenders on the menu I knew I had to try them. I wasn't expecting much, but I was surprised. The breading is crispy and the chicken is juicy. I prefer these chicken tenders over any other restaurant. Seriously. We have ordered out from The Catch 5+ times since we tried it in mid July. I am picky when it comes to fried pickles. I prefer a thin pickle with thin breading and these delivered. I had always thought Slim Chicken's fried pickles were the best, until I tried these. The Catch uses a little spice in their breading that is perfect. Dip them in ranch and it's a winner. The Catch has always been consistent with the food quality and amount, and my husband always comments on the pleasant demeanor of the staff. read more

I saw my food was at the window and it took a while for the waitress to grab it. I ordered the shrimp and catfish regular basket. 1 catfish fillet and 3 large shrimps with fries and 2 hush puppies. Worth the wait. First bite of the shrimp was great. Very succulent. Fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned. Catfish had a light crispy breading. For the price excellent portion. The final thing that sold me was having malt vinegar at the table! It's not a great fried seafood place without malt vinegar! I'll be back! read more

The pound of crawfish was just boiled.. no flavor.. and it didn't look like a pound.. more like 1/4 pound.. didn't expect it to be so little. The fried baskets were good though!
