Food - (3/5) - had the Beef Goulash which has been on the menu for years. This time it seemed to have lost some of it's lustre. Less flavourful then before and not a lot of beef in the sauce. Sides were ok but nothing spectacular. The Schnitzel used to be another favorite but didn't try it this time. Service - (3.5/5) - similar to before the service was average. Not sure what it is but you just don't get that welcoming feeling from the server/bartenders here. Food and drink came out fairly quickly though. Atmosphere - (3.75/5) - its a small place with lots of ethnic artifacts on the walls. Wooden tables, small bar and some TVs. They do seasonal decorations which is a nice touch. Overall - (3.5/5) - its an ok place and maybe it's a better experience if you are Polish? Personally, Barrel House (Ukrainian) down the street is a better choice imo.

The bar was incredibly full and they didn't allow for walk ins which was disappointing because it didn't indicate anywhere online that we could call and make reservations for our group of 6 (in hindsight we should have been more thorough and called to book.) I was seated at the bar and didn't get serviced for half an hour so it's disappointing to say i didn't get to try any food or drinks. The server behind the bar kept looking at me like she didn't want to be there and couldn't be bothered. I decided to not give them my business and won't be back.

I think I was intimidated because there's not much information about the joint online. I walked in and there were a few people having drinks, so I grabbed a seat at the end of the bar. After walking by for months and seeing the sign for their own Kanu Lager, I obviously had to order that. It's a very simple, very tasty lager that's super easy to drink. I'll definitely be drinking it again. I was feeling a little peckish, too, so I asked to see a menu. Everything sounded really tasty, so I asked for a recommendation and wound up with the Calamari Rings. They're surprisingly, shockingly good. They're perfectly fried and enhanced by a really tasty (and spicy) dipping sauce. I also want to single out the ambience and the service, both of which were tremendously appealing. It's a small, dark bar, which I love, and my server was helpful without being intrusive. I really don't know why it took me so long to check out Kanu. It's a really cool little place and I'm looking forward to stopping by on a regular basis in the future.

Started with ice cold wine and beer. Delish. Daughter and mom each ordered the bruschetta flatbread. Mom loved it, daughter hated it. Rightly claimed you should not decorate it with ranch dressing. I ordered the turkey avocado club. Liked it. Had lettuce, tomatoes, a slice of Kraft processed singles, pickled onions, chipotle mayo. What it promised and was unfortunately missing was the avocado, which was supposed to come as guacamole. Would have been nice to have it and I probably should have said something. Next time. Came with fries which were excellent. If I'm ever in the area again, will be back.

Court was then intruded on while on a stall by a man, who could have simply left immediately, while apologizing. But instead, the man re-opened the door and leered at Court WHILE ON THE STALL. When Court went to tell the bar owner, and pointed out the person in question, the owner merely waved it off saying "Oh that guy. He wouldn't do that, he's the nicest guy ever". And, then banned Court from the bar. I want to make it clear that this happened to Alyson Court, an actress, a celebrity. If the bar owners are going to do this to a CELEBRITY, then nobody is safe. ANYBODY who comes in for drinks, or to have a good time, male of female, could get violated or assaulted, and the bar owners will cover it up. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE FOR DRINKS.

The chicken was way too dry, and I had asked for extra dressing which took a long time to arrive. Earls should offer the option for customers to choose Steak, Shrimp, or Chicken and if chicken, the choice of White or Dark Meat. The Cheesecake dessert was OK taste-wise but SO SMALL. They couldn't even provide a full slice of cheesecake?? It was literally a regular slice of cheesecake cut in half - looked so bad.
