More like 3.5 stars. Island Thyme has a great menu, with quality ingredients, and decent service. It's just very overpriced for what you get. I came for a quick dinner and had the hummus trio, and my fiancé and I each made our own quinoa "bowl," which is actually more like a plate. The hummus was freshly made and good. I had salmon as my protein and you can tell it was fresh, not frozen. However, when I order a quinoa bowl I like it when all my veggies are in an actual bowl, on top of quinoa, not on a place with everything next to each other. I like mixing it up with some dressing but I guess this isn't the place for that. My favorite veggie option was the kale with fava beans. Their mushrooms and broccoli were decent. Next time I come I'll definitely make my own açaí bowl!

Great food and vibe. A bit drafty, but not an issue if you're there on a summer day. The sauce for the vegan burger should come both already on the burger and on the side bc (while the burger tastes great) it's dry, and the sauce is so delicious that it's great to both have on the burger and to dip the potatoes in-- the little container on the side wasn't enough.

Locally made Kombucha on tap, awesome!

I love thell design and set up of this place. Very clean, fresh, modern with a beach vibe feel. The hanging plants add a nice touch. I Ordered an Ocean Bowl which was really good. It has goji berries and blueberries on top. My kids both had the hidden carrot mac and cheese. It came with a a few sweet potatoe chips, some slices of apple and a juice box. With that being said, I think they should give kids the option to choose diffwrent sides. The cashier first told me the kids can choose from the sides menu, then was told we couldnt. The sweet potato chips were a little hard to chew for my kids. They werent that crunchy and tasted a little stale. The mac and cheese was good, but the portion was small for what you pay for. Overall its a nice place, but I feel like its a little overpriced. I havent tried the other items on the menu but for the kids meal it I dont think a small bowl of mac and cheese, a few slices of apple and stale chips was worth $8. The acai bowl I had was good.

Place is on the small side, which can lead to it being noisy, but it wasn't too bad when we were there. Food came out quick and hot. Prices a bit higher than other diners, but that might be what's necessary to stay in business locally. I got a reuben with fries. Not the absolute best I've had, not even close to the worst, and ultimately satifying. Fries were a bit bland and I could've used more russian dressing. My wife enjoy her burger, and my son enjoyed his chicken and french fries. Egg cream was good as well, and the portions were formidable. A good dining experience all around.

We were a group of ten or so, including about seven young boys who had just won a football game. we were all pretty hungry!! Burgers are small, but they offer a double burger option which is very popular these days and I understand why. Burgers were tasty and fries were good too, the kids had no complaints. I liked the burger, but I can easily say it was not my favorite burgers. If you are looking for a big juicy burger full of flavor, like served at a diner or Jackson Hole, just understand this is a different experience. The prices here are reasonable and you get your moneys work. One of the moms ordered a hot fried chicken sandwich and it was basically a frozen chicken breast/tender marinated in a buffalo sauce ... she ate the sandwich, but said she would not order again. This place has been around for a while and is a nice local option in Island Park for a quick bite. The servers behind the counter were all friendly and brought the food out in a timely matter. I have lived in Long Beach for over 2 years now and was excited to finally get to try this…read morerestaurant - safe to say it was a major disappointment. To start off we had a reservation for 7:30, we showed up at 7:32 and still had to wait about 15/20 minutes to be seated (what is the point of a reservation then?). There were little gnats flying around the whole time outside - so bad we watched 2 tables be seated and then leave immediately. Thus we requested to be inside once we were finally taken to a table. After being seated it took another 15 minutes for our server to even come over to us. In the mean time we noticed that both our utensils and cups looked dirty! Then we quickly realized we both had 2 different menus. A LOT of different app and entree options on them so it was confusing. Then when the waiter finally came to us we asked and one menu was outdated - then of course it was the one with items we were way more interested in. We ordered water and drinks to start and the Ahi Tuna Tostada as an app. The appetizer came out before the drinks somehow and was VERY small - $21 for a single tostada - and it just made it really awkward to share (which apps should be shareable plates). Then the drinks came and were not great either for a basic $16 cocktail. Then I got the Salmon dish for dinner - the taste was very delicious and I loved all the veggies that came with the dish. BUT it looked like they took a normal piece of salmon and cut it into 1/3's. Salmon is normally a pricey meal to eat out so at least give me a normal size piece of the fist. My boyfriend ordered the buttermilk fried chicken with honey lime chili sauce. His plate was HUGE compared to mine, but his main complain was that it tasted like plain fried chicken besides a small part of it with the honey lime chili flavoring. I tried it and it was good but very unfortunate that the seasoning wasn't on all the chicken so it bland for the most part. Lastly, the entire time we ate we never saw our waiter again, and then easily 10/15 minutes after we finished eating we had to hunt him down to get the check. We had a 7:30 reservation and left around 10PM which seemed so extra considering our food didn't take that long to come out. Overall it was a pretty bad experience for overpriced basic food. We will not be returning.

Great place to have a party!!…read more We are usual patrons of the Oceanside and IP locations for brunch, bar and dinner because of the consistantcy of the food quality, service and setting. Always clean, nicely lighted, tastefully decorated for the holidays. So when searching for a place to have an 81st birthday party - we thought of here first. Arranging all the plans with Jackie - was a breeze! Had a few options for time of day, length of party and meal/drink packages. Got in a little early to arrange our tables and set up a slide show. Chris, Chris and Jess and the rest of the staff were on top of everything for the entire party. I always had a drink waiting, the food was super - great selection and taste. Received so many comments "I never knew this was over here but I will def come back" and "i have always wanted to try it but havent come in" and "Everything was so yummy" and "This is such a great room for a party!!" But out short rib ravioli came out all cold inside and out. We cut into Half of one and had to tell the server that it's cold . Then it was brought out steaming hot all great everything tasted good as well. When we got to the end of our ravioli the last piece was the one we cut into and still there . So I asked my server what do you think they did with our order. He said ofcourse they Cooked up a fresh batch!! I told him well they didn't . He looked shocked and said he told them To make a new order . He was nice enough to take them off the bill as well. But still make you wonder what they do in the back if they don't listen to their wait staff and didn't do something as simple as this or even trash the one ravioli and make one new one. The burgers were great, the Philly egg rolls were mushed up meat in an egg roll wrap . But definitely won't come back here after having this place bookmarked for like 4-5 years and finally made it but won't come back here again. Way too many good ones to try .
