This food is something that you can find in a Walmart freezer isle. Not to mention the rude owner and bartender giving attitude when you order a beer and do not tip immediately. On the way home from obx . Found this place on yelp with good reviews so decided to try it for lunch. We go in sit down takes a while for someone to come take our order for drinks . Finally bartender comes over takes our drink order then never makes them for 20 minutes so we ask again and she said she thought she made them . Anyways we order all our food . Mozz sticks and two egg salad sandwiches. Mozz sticks come out about 15 min later then we are sitting there for about 40 minutes and finally ask the one lady that's busting tables to check on our sandwiches since no one else in the restaurant is waiting for food and I mean egg salad is already pre made so . She goes to the kitchen comes back out and checks the computer so instantly we know our sandwiches weren't put in. So we tell her we are just going to leave. She proceeds to tell us the bartender is drunk but she's all she has to work today and to give them some compassion. Yea no. Me and my husband both own businesses and if one of our employees came to work drunk and was making my customers have bad experiences they would be immediately fired on the spot. Can't believe this is even a thing. She needs to be fired . What a horrible experience . This ship will sink if you don't cut out that dead weight. Do better read more

Flavorful. Good portions. Priced right. What a great place to eat! The fish tacos with blackened tuna had the right spice and tanginess. They looked great too. My tastebuds smiled while enjoying the equal parts spiciness, citrus, and very good tuna. The nachos? Exactly as everyone says. Just great! Good "nacho spiciness" in the dip. For the past year this has been my go to restaurant for consistent great food. Everything is fresh even the jalapeños, none of that pickled stuff. Great service too. After you eat, Target is next door and Home Depot is .5 miles away. Then come back for a dessert. If you find the traffic to/from the OBX unbearable, be sure to take the Hillcrest exit 8A as it is an easy on/off to get back on the road. The owner and staff are very friendly and acknowledge when you enter and leave their establishment. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the menu prices, as they arent as steep as some places for the same type of food. The egg salad sandwich was really good but the fries were a huge disappointment. They were unfortunately ice cold. Not even a tiny bit warm. Im assuming since I had several take out orders that mine must have sat there and got cold while waiting on the other food. I think i will still visit again and try something else, but if the staff would have just made sure the take out orders were just as good as the dine in orders i was seeing, I would have given the 5 stars. read more

I come here often and I've never had a bad experience until today. I ordered the shrimp tacos and when I got them they were not deveined and there was a lot of trash in the veins. So I could not eat them, I was told I didn't ask any questions therefore I was told I was required to pay the bill, of course they withheld this information until I ordered a second item and received the bill. Did not know I would have to ask if the shrimp is deveined when you put them in a grilled taco! So I had to pay for a horrible meal that I did not eat plus what I ordered to replace the horrible dish. I will never go back. The owner's told me because I didn't complain about the taste, I took a bite and got poop in my mouth what more could I complain about!, that I had to pay for the meal. They also said that I did not take a bite of the shrimp taco which is an absolute lie, the person that was with me saw me take 2 bites. So now they've called me a liar, and made me pay for something that was horrible. Then they went on to say we're in a pandemic, being in a pandemic does not mean if your food sucks you make your customers pay for it anyway. You could tell the shrimp were pre-cooked shrimp that they through on the grill and cooked until they were rubbery. read more

Was super unimpressed with this place considering the good reviews. Our waitress was super inattentive. My husband and I split their fried veggies appetizer...the breading was ridiculously salty and had a bitter aftertaste. The sandwiches we got were underwhelming and I decided to try one of their soups which was also incredibly salty and didn't have very good flavor either. We got a piece of one of their cakes to take home to our roommate cause he wanted something sweet, he said he only took two bites then threw it away. He said it was dry and clearly tasted like boxed cake mix that wasn't made correctly. Don't know if we'll be willing to try this place again since nothing we ate was even moderately good. Maybe it was an off night? I'm not sure. Only giving two stars cause it wasn't the worst experience I've ever had. read more

There was only what appeared to be two people serving and taking orders and stuff. Would not go back. Phenomenal experience. The perfect place to bring your family, or grab a beer with the guys. The specials are clever and seem to be updated daily. When I was there, the special was jumbalaya and it was the best I've ever had. I can still taste it and am craving it and will be requesting its return (family run, they love feedback). Before our entree's, my friend and I shared a plate of nachos - shredded cheese, lettuce, house made pico, sour cream and 'man dip' (gooey sauce of melted cheese, ground beef and.. some other stuff? (awesome)). We were nearly full from it and it was only $7.99(!!!!). My friend had the crab cake sandwich with a beet salad and was very, very happy. I tried the beet salad - I don't like beets, they stain everything they touch and taste kinda like dirt. I LOVED this. Diced beets, pine nuts, feta, and arugala(?) tossed in subtle and satisfying vinegrette. Fantastic. Service was excellent. The bar tender was personable and kept our glasses full with zero down time. This restaurant was mediocre. The atmosphere was good and slightly cozy. The service was ok ( it was our waiters first night on the job). All the people seemed to know each other which was nice. The food: the house sales was good except for the dressing which was lacking spices and was runny and just overall tasted weird. I tried the crab cakes which were spectacular and the side of house made fries was good as well. We also tried the egg salad sandwich which was overall nasty. Been going there from the day they opened I even tipped The owner$100 at Christmas because I know the owner had young kids and were fighting to keep the doors open they seem to have plenty of waitresses was treated poorly food came pretty fast but they close at 8o'clock on Thursday if you come in at 7:30 they will turn your way it's not that they close at 8o'clock you have to be out of there by 8 o'clock they would not serve my son a beer because he did not have his ID with him but he said that I go to the car and get it they refused to serve him anyway used to love this place but I'll never go again there's a new place opening across the street if they treat everybody the same way they treated me they won't be in business long and the business across the street will do very well read more

Customer service is also top knotch. They noticed that we didn't really touch our chips and salsa, didn't taste bad just a little too much onions in this batch. They insisted to remove it off the bill and gave us a slice of pie on the house. We didn't expect anything because it was just a personal preference, they went above and beyond. We love this place and have been enjoying their great food, great drinks, and great service since they opened 3 years ago. It is a great couple who own the restaurant. They are making the drinks, preparing the food, and making sure you have a wonderful meal. We haven't had anything we didn't enjoy. Everything is fabulous. They are typically busy so the slow service doesn't bother me especially when their busy, but sometimes you can tell the kitchen doesn't keep up. Wanted a local restaurant while traveling from Outer Banks to Norfolk airport. Hard to find restaurant in strip mall area. Decor was inviting with dollar bills stapled to ceiling. Never got answer for that. Server seemed a little frazzled and it was not that crowded. Service was very slow. Food was ok but not anything special. Ribs as very as the Sahara, my steak was grossly over cooked, asked for medium and it came out well done.
