I constantly feel like Squamish doesn't get the recognition it deserves for having hidden gems like The Buvette. At the very end of the downtown area, this aesthetically pleasing coffee-sandwich shop deals in both caffeine and well crafted sandwiches tailored for the perfect bite. Staff were also super friendly and glad we listened to their recommendation, of course, for the "Staff's Favorite" sandwich! read more

We heard about this tasty sandwich shop and decided to come stop by for a quick lunch. The interior is uniquely decorated with cool concrete walls, red checkered counters, and chrome tables that gave off a groovy retro but minimalist vibe! We ordered a Meat Sando ($16) to share and it was tasty. We enjoyed the different cold cuts like prosciutto and salami. The large fresh mozzarella, arugula, roasted red peppers, and pickled onions were a tasty complement to the texture and taste of the sandwich. Next time though, I would hold the chili spread because I am a weakling when it comes to spice. Such a cute spot with a beautiful backdrop of the granite monolith! read more

The food is amazing but could be a bit more attentive with service. The sandwiches are very well made with quality and fresh ingredients. Even amongst 3 guys, we all had trouble finishing our own sandwiches from how thick it was. Will definitely come back! read more

I loved how bright and airy this sandwich shop was. The drink options made it feel so much fancier than your typical grab and go spot. I tried a few fruit sodas and mocktails with fancy names and combinations that I hadn't heard of before. I will say that the sandwiches were a bit lackluster, I don't fully understand the hype based on the sandwiches alone. The overall experience and service really kicks it up several notches, but I've definitely had better sandwiches in my life. read more

wow, the vibes in here are immaculate. the americano was perfect, my date and i shared the olives and a meat sando. it was so fresh, packed full of fillings and perfect! i'm so glad someone recommended this spot for me to try, i'll definitely be back when in squamish :) read more

Squamish really is growing and as whole new blocks appear I'm glad to see that there is a mind for restaurants and services where I can imagine members of the community meeting to chat outside and grabbing a bite (as seems to be the Squamish way). This place has its image dialed and there is a slight whiff of pretentiousness about but I think that is par for the course these days and possibly coloured by the annoying conversion of other self-promoting customers I was forced to endure and not the staff who were friendly enough. The sandwich wasn't cheap, but was good for sure, and generous on the toppings. They do small coffees and I'm glad for that because I sort of feel that is the needed "diversity in the portfolio" small businesses seem to need these days to survive and give their teams something to do between meal peaks. This place is nice enough looking to double as a coffee shop after lunch time and (currently) has no tall buildings to the east so should get morning sun if their hours allow. I don't know if I'd do it again, but I'm glad we went and I do feel there is room for this business in Squamish as many of the other places are either more "sit-down" or big box fast food,.. so if you just want a sandwich and don't want to go to the chicken place on the highway,... this is a good option. read more

Starbuck's was Mr. B's favorite for coffee and we prefer the smaller independently owned coffee shops and Fox and Oak is a gem. Located in downtown Squamish, really on the outskirts of downtown. This tiny little spot has a long bar with seating and then a lovely patio. The staff at the register taking orders both times was so friendly, helpful and offered great recommendations. On our first visit it was a latte for Mr. B and a Chai Latte for me, both were creamy, filled with rich flavor without being bitter. We also shared a maple walnut donut. Oh it was so good. I can't say the last time I had a donut, but when in Canada, maple anything is always so good. The donut was light and had a lovely maple glaze on the top and then toasted walnuts. So good! On our second visit, we had the same drinks, the same Maple Walnut Donut and added a blueberry fritter. The fritter was crunchy on the outside, after the first bite we could see the layers of dough much like a croissant and in the middle were loads of fresh blueberries. Wow, fresh berries and not a sweet fake blueberry gel. It truly was scrumptious. Parking is on the street and can be tight, but both times we found parking even with a short walk. Which was good to walk off our donuts and pastries.

We all make mistakes sometimes, but when an establishment tries to make up for it, it is very nice. The sandwich was good, but the Nanaimo bar tasted like the same one I bought from Whole Foods. It's a very nice place to sit and chat quietly with great views, big windows, and a chill vibe.
