This is a very rad dive bar! I have been to so many different venues over the years in Chicago, and usually they never let me down! This one rules as well! It's your typical divey type rock club! I dig that the venue has a separate room! It's not huge but, perfectly intimate and I dig that the stage is not to high off the ground! The sound in here is huge, very big for the size of room! I got to not only play a show here, I got to DJ in the front room which was a blast too! I dig that they have a nice sound system up front too, for DJ's! They have turntables and digital set up for dj's. The sound engineer was great, one of the bartenders seems like he was not into being here tonight but not so bad that it bugged me! The drinks were good price for the city and I really enjoyed my time here! Also ample amount of parking right outside the venue really helped too! All and all, I dug it and hope to be back!

UPDATE: If these guys didn't INVENT clique behavior, they sure perfected it. There's the DJ clique. A bunch of people crowd around the DJ booth and have their own little party over there? Wanna talk to the DJ? Too bad. It's a corner party, and you're not invited. The bartenders seem far more interested in talking to their friends and women than serving me a drink. On a slow night, I had to wait 10 minutes for a beer. Not cool. And the level of alcohol in my drinks was about half that of the bartender's friends. I honestly had to ask if there was whiskey in my Diet Coke. Then I had to ask if there was even Diet Coke in my Diet Coke. It was like a glass of ice. Stick to beer, sprout some tits and you might have a good time. ORIGINAL REVIEW: So the Burlington is a bar. It has drinks, seats and a TV. The only really noticeable thing about the place is the '80s tune-blasting boomboxes near the ceiling of each unisex restroom . I think each of my friends and I got a different song. Mine was Toto's "Roseanna." $2 PBRs were awesome, and the crowd was younger and more attractive than the average Logan Square gang. Other than that and a delicious Spaten on tap, I didn't see much else that impressed me.

You might be right about yourself Carol, I dunno- This place is not pretentious but considering that it is west of Kedzie there has to be some attitude there, otherwise it would be just another cheese d**k bar. I think some people call it quality control. Also, I don't know if people ever graced the previous establishment that was here before, The La Donna lounge, but it was a complete pit. Seriously. Radiators, one window shaker for cooling, wood paneling along all the walls,a clientele that was less than savoury and a dropped ceiling of awfulness. The list continues but why bother writing about that. The point being is that on a very basic level of growth this place is a beacon for the neighborhood, but if your coming from the burbs you might not get it. The new is what I want to talk about. A sound system that bumps, been in the past couple of nights and seems they are getting a better hold on the dj's and the volume, it was completely reasonable and they were pumping out some jams! A crazy chandelier of light bulbs casts dim lighting throughout the bar, lots of candles, 8 beers on tap, and an awesome back bar made of barn wood. They also carry a tasty special brew on tap, look for the deer horn tap, its delish. One super large huage tv that does cubs games early and hopefully one day maybe bears games? The ceiling is one of those old chicago tin ceilings, lots of character and there is a completely new heating cooling system. If any of you have ever been to danny's on a hot night you know how awful it can get in there, I was here about a week ago and the place was full, kids dancing, people drinking and it never once felt like dante's inferno. Thank you ac. The bar is long, holds about 15 people, has comfy redish bar stools with backs, and for the ladies, they put hooks under the bar for your belongings, nice touch I think. 2 church pews line the left wall with little tables in front and from what the bartender was saying they should have some stools arriving shortly, thank god. Also, the pews open up under each seat so you can store purses, bags, coats etc. Functional and hip. I guess it is a dive bar in some aspects but then it is so much more in many others. Find out for yourself. Thanks for opening your doors Burlington!

Third time at cobblestone and this time was for Valentine's Day. We wanted someplace cozy and cute…read moreand Cobblestone set the bar high with a candlelit dinner. They had a terrific Valentine's Day dinner $95 for two people which included a small amuse-bouche each, an appetizer to share, individual entrees, and a dessert to share. We loved the crispy broccolini and were fighting over it. The entrees were huge portions and packed with flavor. I consider myself a scallop connoisseur and in all the restaurants we've ever been in, these scallops were cooked beautifully. They had a perfect sear to them on the outside but cooked perfectly on the inside as well, 10/10 no notes this is the scallop I will compare all future scallops to. And the duck confit, oh my...we also fought over this dish which paired incredibly well with beans to our surprise. Chocolate cake had a beautiful strawberry sauce on the bottom. Everything was incredible including the service. Cobblestone remains our favorite in the area and is loved by all the locals. Thank you for a perfect Valentine's Day dinner.

Went here for NYE. I was really disappointed by the food. It has good reviews and a friend had been…read moreand liked it. I got the pre fixe menu. The pickled deviled eggs were tasty. It was not an "Amuse bouche" which is a single bite item, it was much more but I'm not complaining about that! The appetizer was grilled octopus over sweet potato mash. I learned that day that sweet and grilled octopus is not a good mix. It was nearly gross. I picked the octopus up and tried to brush off as much of the sweet potatoes and possible. The octopus tasted good but was over cooked. My main was the branzino. It was charred to a crisp and full of bones. It did not taste good and was extremely difficult to eat. I did not taste the German chocolate cake for dessert but was told it was dry and people barely touched it. My husband and others are our table got short rib goulash, which was served like a steak with gravy. It wasn't tender like short rib should be. He said the flavor was good at least. Someone got the fish and chips and said it was flavorless. Someone else got the burger and said it was also charred and over cooked. Over all, pretty disappointed. Cute place with decent service. Hopefully this was just an off night.
