Good old classic looking bar. It's not quite a dive bar because while it looks kind of crappy on the outside, it's a lot nicer inside, but still not too fancy though. EZ Inn is an easy place to have fun. Has lots of beers, mostly in bottles and cans. There's also strong cocktails that are stiff. A pretty cool hipster vibe in here. It's bigger than it looks. There's a lot of seating, whether at the bar or in the back at a table. Most people here seem to get the cheap beer. There's something for pretty much everyone. It's about $11 for one of the better cocktails. Long Islands and other easy to drink stuff. Atmosphere changes. This is quiet most days, then on the weekends they may have a DJ and it will get loud. Bathrooms are interesting. It's covered with graffiti all over, with some entertaining reading material. There's also a pretty cool jukebox and music for any taste.

I hosted a party at EZ Inn last night and CANNOT imagine having a better time at any other bar in the city. Isaac and his team behind the bar were so accommodating and the vibes were on point for our retro theme. As our party ended a painting in the back room opened up to reveal a DJ booth... perfect transition to continue the awesome night. Thank you especially to Danny for getting us all set up and the rest of the crew for taking great care of us. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!!

TLDR: Retro bar with reasonable prices and a great staff. Perfect neighborhood watering hole. Vibe: 5/5. When you walk inside, it's like you are stepping back in time to the 70-80s. Vintage decor is littered throughout the bar which in itself is worth the visit. Service: 4/5. Bar staff was quick to serve and polite. We came towards closing time and they gave us a 20 minutes heads-up for last call. Other then that, nothing else was noteworthy. Drinks: 4/5. Affordable drinks and a decent selection of cocktails. Being this was our first time in Chicago, we opted for the right of passage Chicago handshakes which includes a shot of Malortt and a Hamm's draft. Everything came out cold and lived up to it's reputation (yuck). Definitely a neighborhood bar I would frequent again.

I'd past this place so many times just thinking it was some hole in the wall, especially with a name like EZ-Inn. When a friend of mine mentioned that he was stopping by and to come hang I was like oh crap, I'm probably going to be kidnapped. I got inside and was totally shocked! The place is lovely and very intimate. It has a modern pub feel to it with awesome music being played. Dogs are also allowed which is great as well. I went with the grapefruit gin and tonic - 7 bucks. Yummy. The beer selection is plentiful as is the whiskey. Plenty of seating space! Plenty of parking! Awesome spot!

Its like walking into a time machine in the best way. Light fixtures made by old school brewery's. A great bar design. This place has booths, bar stools, other comfortable seats. Good craft beer selection and they're able to do a handful of classic cocktails as well. I came in on a Sunday and they had 10 oz of Old Style on draft for a $1. Bartender is funny, other patrons are cool. They have a few cocktails on draft and one of the ones I got was a Pina Colada.

This themed party was a blast

I have to give 5 stars just because the night I went, there was an awesome themed party and everyone was very friendly. The bartenders were cool. I got in the DJ boot for a picture:) (but that's also because they were friends of my friend). I walked out drunk before heading to the shit fountain. Good times!:)

An early evening gimlet at the EZ Inn.

Chill local "divey" bar with amazing specials. Large space with plenty of seating and perhaps an area to dance if that's your thing :)

They're known for their French onion soup and chili, so we had to try the chili. It was tasty and I really liked that they use chunks of meat instead of ground meat. It also wasn't overly salty like a lot of chili can be and had a good flavor to it. We also ordered the half pound Angus burger, which was a really good classic burger. Nothing overly fancy or a ton of extras--we just got it with lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese, and enjoyed it. Good if you're ever craving a simple, classic burger. We also tried the pizza, and although it wasn't really to my taste, I could definitely see it being good for cheese lovers. For pizza, I'm someone who likes a higher ratio of sauce to cheese, and this was way too cheese heavy for me. The crust was okay and the toppings were plentiful. They also have a great outdoor patio that would be perfect for bigger parties, and a projector outside for the games too. The bartenders and bouncer were all really nice and gave us awesome recommendations as well. Overall, great neighborhood bar with good bar food, nice people, and a fun place to catch a game.

I added a dusting of ghost pepper for heat and it definitely kicked things up a notch. The chicken itself wasn't seasoned and that it what I would have done differently. It was cooked perfectly though. My friend nachos were delicious there was a light refreshing flavor with a pinch of heat because of the jalapenos. Definitely worth eating again. I like the drink options we had classic margaritas and oberon beer. The margaritas were delicious with good flavor and well balanced. The beer nice, cold, and crisp. I would return... But I hope they start seasoning those wings they have so much potential!

The space itself has a great relaxing ambience and the option to sit indoors or outside. In the colder months, there's an enclosed patio. When it's nicer, the outdoor space opens up and there's a fire pit. All of the staff have been kind and attentive. My only very minor complaint is that the bathroom, while nicely decorated, is SO dark. It took a while for my eyes to adjust and may be difficult for those with impaired vision. We proceed to finish our beers and play a jazz song by a black female singer. Immediately the bartender and some older biker looking dudes next to us start talking smack about the song. They asked if we put the song on? We said yes, and tell us to read the room. So I respond in a very sarcastic tone. "oh, you want us to read the room, would you like us to play some Toby Keith or Kid rock for you?" They smirked and had no response. It's not a upscale as it once felt, and the poor service did not help that impression. My BF was lamenting Roots in Lincoln Square closing, but mentioned the one in West Town and Homestead. Neither of us had been since before the pandemic, so we made a reservation for the next week. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated promptly. The roof is cute-- what you'd expect of a rooftop. It took 5-10 minutes for our server to make it over. We ordered drinks and asked for 2 more minutes for the food. That was a mistake. It took him at least 10 minutes to come back. We still had not received our drinks, but he said the bar was backed up. I strongly suspect he forgot to enter them, but maybe not because it took 35 minutes! During most of that time, he seemed to avoid our table so he wouldn't have to field any questions. We ordered the broccolini, which was cooked perfectly. BF thought it needed a little salt, but I liked it. He got the mussels as an entrée and thought they were good, but nothing to write home about. I got the potato tacos, which were excellent. Overall, it was fine. Not quite the nice date night we expected, especially with the service being what it was. 35 minutes for a cocktail is pretty outrageous. They comped them, which I appreciated, but I don't know that I'll be back any time soon.
