This place is a great Chicago dive bar! There's a pool table and quite a bit of space. I didn't see any food being served. I was very impressed by the service, the bartender was WERKING the bar! She was seriously phenomenal - very on top of it!

Have several times come across this basic bar and always wanted to come in. It turned out to be about as expected, maybe even better than that. Bob Inn is a total dive looking bar. Prices can be a bit higher on a few things, so it may not be a true one of course. The beer selection is mostly bottles and cans, and this is cash only. Bar is bigger than it appears. It goes back with a lot of room for hanging out. There's some arcade games and a pool table. Good stuff for a dive bar. The drinks are the main thing though. It's a couple bucks for the cheapest beer. Mass produced crap mostly but also a few crafts among these. It's about $8 for the most expensive cocktails. This includes Jameson and the like. It won't be anything too fancy. This is a two ingredient type of place. Could stop here again if around. It has mostly good prices. This is a place for both hipsters and sports watchers.

Wow. Came across this establishment after looking for a good dive after leaving revolution. Dim, local crowd, juke box, friendly bar tender. Poured a good shot of mintze. Welcoming place to nestle or settle in. Big fan of the small beer glasses too. Taste of the old country. Thanks

Good spot!! Inside its pretty dated/ doesn't look like they've done much to it in over 30 years.. Standard Dive but bigger than most and a cool little corner location right near California. Gets a good "Local" crowd during the week! Standard prices and bartender was nice... Really liked the outside of building...GTFJD

The day started off gloomy and gray, but as the clouds broke and the city transformed into a beautiful spring afternoon, the atmosphere inside Village Tap matched that same energy shift -- warm, lively, and welcoming. What truly makes this place stand out is the staff. Even while absolutely slammed with customers after another raucous Cubs post game crowd rolled through, Meg and Kevin never missed a beat. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and ability to stay accommodating under pressure was genuinely impressive. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and ability to stay accommodating under pressure was genuinely impressive. They made sure everyone felt taken care of, stayed on top of drinks and service, and somehow still kept the experience fun and relaxed despite the chaos around them. Kevin's witty banter and sense of humor add a personality to the bar that you just don't find anywhere around that area. It creates the kind of environment where regulars and first-timers alike instantly feel comfortable. Meanwhile, Meg handles the rush with incredible poise and attention to detail, making sure guests always feel valued and welcomed. Village Tap has always been a great neighborhood spot, but experiences like this are what separate good bars from truly memorable ones. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and even better people behind the bar. Even on one of their busiest, most understaffed days, Meg and Kevin proved exactly why this place continues to be a Roscoe Village favorite. My only gripe is The Golden Tee Cabinet. Whats a guy gotta do to get a recalibration on that system! Mid Range left to right putts always miss on the low side. Not sure what to do, but I will carry on...

As popular as the Cesar wraps have been in the city, I had to try this one. At $20, I'd say the price is a little steep for what you're getting. I will say they didn't skimp on chicken so I can appreciate that. Service was pretty standard, good bar vibe on the inside.

In the modern world of $20 cocktails, craft double imperial IPA's with names like "a pidgeon's nightmare", sometimes all you want is an affordable ice cold miller light, play some pool, and watch some College football on a massive TV. The clientele clearly come to this traditional watering hole to make new friends, strike up fun conversations, and maybe throw back a few whiskey neats along the way. Don't expect an "instagramable" neon sign to take a picture in front of, but you'll find a no-nonsense bartender who will get you a cold one and listen to your life story. Don't get me wrong, I love the vibrant stretch of new American dining in Roscoe village right next door, but sometimes simplicity is all you need.

It probably has the same group of regulars here almost daily. They won't turn you away just because you aren't from around here though. Always happy to take your money in return for a drink. It's about $6 for the cheapest stuff. Basically it's just a place to drink. There's some snacks like chips or pretzels. For sure it's not the cleanest but it's not a dump. It had simple entertainment like a pool table and some TVs that have been around for who knows. This is a popular place for darts and there's lots of tournaments.
