    Chicken Caesar Wrap
    Brie G.

The chicken Caesar wrap hype is real! Let's be clear, this is well made and exactly what you'd want this to be. So many places don't get it right but they do here. Not too saucy, big portions, right balance of chicken, lettuce, croutons, and caesar dressing. Doesn't fall apart on you either! Served with fries that are tasty and work with it! Service was great and friendly! I prefer the back room that has a few TVs for games but isn't as loud as the main bar area. Free parking on Roscoe! Cabernet Sauvignon was nice! Excited to come back and try more food.

Tried to listen to TikTok's advice, and they didn't lie- as I'm sure you'll read, the Chicken Caesar Wrap is good. Confirmed. But it's also huge and I cannot contemplate eating it alone, so I recommend begging a pal or partner to go halfsies with you (as shown.) You save your tummy and a few bucks (so long as they agree to split the bill, but details) Definitely busier on the weekends, especially during football season. Had to go up to the bar to order after wait for a bit. Be prepared to wait or not have over the top service on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Chicken Cesar wrap was delicious! A huge portion that could have been shared. While a big portion it could use more chicken. I like that the chicken was grilled not friend/breaded. The French fries were also good with a nice crisp and salty flavor. Thankfully we got corn dogs to start as service was slow, a table that sat after us got food before us. The outside patio area is great!

I have been to the village tap many times before for some drinks with friends.... But for some reason I had never gotten food?! Clearly, huge misstep on my end. When my friends told me this was the best chicken ceasar wrap in the city- I almost didn't believe them. But BOY was I wrong.... I am still dreaming of this wrap weeks later.... paired with a crisp cool allagash white- absolute perfection! Also I can't go without mentioning the back patio... that has a retractable roof! I can't find anything that Village Tap is missing- great ambiance, neighborhood bar, with great food. Cannot be beat!

A pub with good city vibe in heart of Roscoe Village. Like this place, the look and feel and if I lived closer would go in at times for a beer at the bar and catch one of the games. Staff are nice and friendly. The food selection is decent, likely something on there for everyone. As far as the food, and not just from this visit but from other times there, average. Well, maybe a bit better than average but not as good as it could be. Portion sizes are good, it's just the taste. My burger was ok. Fries were....ok. So I score it a 4 of 5 with the feel and service being better than the grub.

The chicken Caesar wrap and a stellar beer menu is all you need. There's more table seating in the back (even heated in winter). It's a little overpriced but I crave this wrap and it's a great neighborhood spot to hop into.

Placed is pretty packed with locals when I went and there is a lot of festive decorations and this was during lunch. Service was okay and food was decent. Took a while for to get my food though.

I would come here for a bar, specifically for a watching sports! But as a restaurant, I can't score higher than a 3.5. First off, we were underwhelmed by the Chicken Caesar Wrap - there was very little chicken and there was a lot of dressing (causing it to be watery) yet lack of flavor. My favorite item we tried was the Zucchini Fries, they were big chunks of zucchini and nicely battered. Lastly, we were underwhelmed by the service; we had to ask to order AND to pay the check, and asked for water refills multiple times. Not that we would have tipped lower, but in my opinion it's weird to have the default tip options be 20%, 25%, and 30%, especially when you're not known for or proving to have exemplary service.

Heard good reviews, but it didn't live up to the expectations. Service was very slow and the cheese burger wasn't very flavorful. The $3 mystery was the worst Tequilla I've ever had (but not mad about that because it was only $3 and knew what we were getting ourselves into!) I think just going for drinks would be better.

Stopped by Village Tap on a Saturday night while in Roscoe Village, looking for some casual food and drinks. It was lively when we arrived, but we managed to snag a table, which was dope! The service was impressively quick, the vibes were great, and the staff was super friendly. Portions for both food and drinks were generous, which is always a win! We had heard rave reviews about their chicken Caesar wrap which we heard was one of the best in the city and it absolutely lived up to the hype. It was amazing! If you're a chicken casear wrap lover this is a must try! Can't wait to return in the summer and check out the back patio for some relaxed outdoor drinking vibes. This spot is a gem in Roscoe Village!

    The famous CCW!!

My main goal in visiting this spot, was to try the highly touted Chicken Caesar Wrap. Although it was delicious, it wasn't my favorite bite of the night. The incredible wings, lamb sliders and cheese curds upstaged the CCW. We sat at the bar, and our bartender was great. The kitchen goofed and he took care of it promptly. Overall a low key and delicious spot. I will be back!

My favorite espresso martini I've had. Cheers to the bartender. Atmosphere is very fun. I like the outside back seating area a lot. Service is very nice and nice food prices!!

Food was great, went for a happy hour type situation with a friend. We got some beers, nachos, and cheese curds. The nachos were standout, fully loaded with toppings, it was almost like we needed more chips to finish which is a rarity. Super well made. The cheese curds were great too, but damn those nachos. Amazing beer selection, with reasonable pricing. Service was great, kind, and efficient.

The mushroom and kale pie was nice and cheesy and the rocking vegan pie was more savoury, with a variety of vegetables and chickpeas as stuffing. The crust was neither too soft nor too crunchy. The highlight of the meal was the curry chips: potato wedges lightly fried with masala and curry leaves. The dipping sauce that came with the chips reminded me of tikka masala sauce, and paired beautifully with the chips. Dessert was toffee pudding: the caramel sauce that came with the pudding was delectable - the pudding itself was excellent and not overly sweet. We tried a variety of NA beers, and I was pleased with how many options they had. Service was quick, and we were well looked after. The ambiance is warm, with dim-ish lighting and a lot of dark wood. The restrooms were gorgeous - special shoutout to the lovely floral wallpaper. Overall, I highly recommend Pleasant House - the vibe is chill and understated and the food is stellar.

The sausage was very tasty, the breading on the outside was incredibly crisp, light, and the egg inside was cooked well. Both the steak pie and the chicken pie were very good. The chicken pie I think really needed the chutney that you can get separately. But that made it so much better and made it my preferred pie. The steak and ale pie was better than the chicken pie as a standalone, but needed a bit more gravy I think to elevate it. Sticky toffee pudding again was delicious. Surprisingly light, not overly dense so I was glad it came with the custard which was very flavorful. Overall, will definitely return!

The server was very nice and helpful but I didn't get his name unfortunately. I iordered the half slab of ribs and 1/4 chicken with side of green beans which also came with corn on cob and Cole slaw. I also had a slice of apple pie to go. Everything came out pretty quick and temp was good. Sorry no pics this time though but it resembles what others have posted. So let me just jump right in on the ribs. They were ABSOLUTELY no where to being on a top 10 list of ribs so not sure where or who gave them the title of (best) but it definitely falls in the category of false advertisement. They were pretty tough and flavor was average at best. The chicken was moist and pretty good as were all the sides. The best part for me was the apple pie. Definitely changed my mood after the disappointment of the ribs. I'm not condemning this place but I can't recommend it either based on the misleading rib statement so proceed with caution!

Believe everything is good here but we came for the beers of course. It's certainly the main product made here so why wouldn't it be important. They make more than you can believe which is impressive because there's all kinds of crowds who pass through. For sure everyone wants beer. It's $6 a pint at happy hour. Pretty great for craft beers compared to lots of places it seems. Best one we got was the Bucket Hat. This is a Belgian style witbier. Has notes of bubble gum, coriander, and orange. The food isn't an afterthought so get some of that. It's about $18 for a burger. Vegans have options. Certainly one of these is the Veggie Burger. This is an amazing thing with a spinach patty topped with chipotle tomato marmalade, cremini mushrooms, mixed greens, pickled red onions, and sweet potatoes. All on a fluffy ciabatta bun. The rest of the menu contains meaty stuff. For sure it feels like a place for the hipsters but it's pretty great for anyone. Pro Tip: if you can tolerate a large quantity of fish, visit on a Wednesday for their AYCE Fish & Chips. I've had many hum drum AYCE dinners that are drab and only fill you up. Not this one. It's a great meal and a great deal. The Shepherd's Pie was fabulous, as was the Bangers and Mash. They've created a Haggis Burger that has to appease Americans, yet, still be haggis. Our second course was the Gage Caesar which we've had before and have enjoyed sharing multiple times, but this time the lettuce was full of grit as if the prep chef did not even bother washing the lettuce. The server never came by to check on us so I had to wave the manager to complain about the salad. The server also never checked to see if we wanted refills on our cocktails so we placed our orders with the manager. The final dish was the venison burger which was perfectly cooked and seasoned if you like venison, which I do so we enjoyed that greatly. The condiments that came with it were perfectly matched to balance the game of the meat and the fries were perfect as usual! The server then FINALLY got more involved with our dinner and was predictably perky and present at the end, something that always irks me when they have been otherwise absent for the meal. The ONLY reason they are getting 3 stars instead of less for this visit was the flavor of the food and the response of the manager in dealing with the lack of service (and the gritty salad). I would give the initial server a zero if I could.
