The staff are super polite and friendly, the restaurant has a fun old fashioned diner feel and is decorated with a life-sized Marilyn Monroe and Elvis, and there are a couple arcade games as well. We just moved to the area and couldn't wait to try this place, and we are really glad that we did. The food is fantastic and they really nailed the 50s-60s burger joint vibe. My wife and I both had the Trenton Burger with fries and both raved about how good it was. Very fresh, quality burgers. The black and white shake was also very very good. Really just wish I had consistency from this place. A week ago Friday I ordered burger and fries and it was perfection. Decided to order today and it was the opposite. Besides the fries being crispy the burger was just a sloppy mess. The bun was soggy from way too much sauce, I asked for sautéed onions last week they were caramelized and delicious today they were cut super thick and were raw basically I even got the outer skin that I bit into that they didn't bother to take off the onion which totally threw me off. Very Disappointed. We were so hungry when we stopped in and were looking to eat a good big burger with fries. Unfortunately, it was not as tasty and flavorful as we expected. We paid $29 for a cheeseburger, a bacon blue burger, one order of sweet potato fries, and one drink. Many of their drinks were out, and the diet coke was way to syrupy. The burgers were not seasoned at all and lacked taste. The buns were NOT freshly baked buns (as they claimed), but instead hard and stale. The sweet potato fries were good, but they gave very little in the order. Paying $5.50 for fries should've given us more. Good burger joint... 30 different burgers on the daily menu. Apparently this place has had many reincarnations over the years. Inside looks like a old time diner maybe. Stopped in for a lunchtime takeout. But they do have several tables/booths & a few high tops scattered about. For her a bacon cheeseburger. And I chose the #5. That's called a Trenton burger. Grilled pork roll, with melted American cheese & ketchup on a baked deli roll. We opted to split a side order of those disco fries. Yum. :) No waiter service here. Just place your order at the counter and they give you one of those buzzers. Food came out pretty quick. It was still warm when I got home. Sometimes you just have that craving. My first time walking in I was greeted by great staff who were happily helping with our decisions for lunch. Taking a look around i also will say it had a great vibe inside seeming like an old burger joint. I had a plain cheese burger nothing on it just cheese, lettuce, ketchup, I wanted to get the real taste for the patty and to my surprise i felt it was actually a bland patty not too much flavor but a good char and well cooked burger. Being disappointed I can back to try there hot dogs this time and it's a whole different story, the hot dogs had a crisp snap to them with fresh bread and a flavorful chili and cheese i couldn't get enough! I can be very hard to please when dining out. I'm often disappointed. Therefore, I was not prepared at all for the religious experience I had when I bit into the first onion ring. It was the best onion ring I've ever had. I asked them to fry them a little darker than usual and they obliged me. I had a BBQ burger and it was perfect, I have no notes. It was juicy, the bbq sauce was tangy and went very well with the fried onion strings, bacon, and cheddar. Then there was the strawberry milkshake I saved for the end of my meal. It was wonderful. The prices for the burger are worth exactly how much they are. They have a huge variety between hot dogs, burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken, wraps and all types of fries. I got the basic cheeseburger (it came with L/T/Sautéed onion/mayo/pickles). I took my pickles off. You can just taste how fresh the ingredients are. The fries were not the "fake/frozen" type. They have a very expansive menu of burger options and they also serve a variety of other boardwalk/snack bar foods. I didn't get to try them but they have funnel cake Fries. Definitely on my next visit! The burger was hearty and stacked well. I opted for a traditional BBQ Bacon combo. It was what I expected and hoped for. The fries were OK. Tasty but I eat fries like a madman and the thick cut fries didn't do it as well for me. I quickly found myself pacing to preserve the fries. I know, I'm a beast. The atmosphere was one of my favorite parts. It gave off a 1950's drive thru-diner-fast food type of feel. Similar to a Johnny Rockets but with their own unique way of presentation. See pics. I have been to the burger shop about 4 times now and I have tried about two of their sandwiches and both times they were quite filling but not he best burger I've ever had. I want to blame this on myself because both burgers came with a lot of toppings! Such as peppers, onions, chipotle sauce and the regular lettuce be tomatoes and cheese but this typically causes my bread to get to soggy and I become uninterested! I believe this place is great but i would definitely go back and try something different maybe the classic burger this time to taste how the actually party taste and not just all the toppings this time ! When i got home 15 minutes later, i found out the burger was well done (like leather). No pink was in the center of the burger. It was not juicy either.
