I forgot to make my review when I had this place last - and unfortunately it is going away :(…read more I really enjoyed the ambiance of this place. You walk in and it's always bumping and bartender is always making funky and cool drinks and everyone's always having a great time. Lots of conversation between friends or even between strangers at the bar. Service was always great. The best dish is the brussel sprouts - it always has something funky in it - marshmellows or grapes and then cheese. It was so enjoyable and they truly believed in their culinary art. I've always appreciated their evolution of their dishes and it was never boring to come back again and again. I truly hope the owners are able to create another restaurant as creative as this one and make it last. I really truly enjoyed this!

We booked a Happy Hour reservation for the long Sunday Easter long weekend at 4:30pm and we were the first to arrive. As Salt & Brick has an evolving fresh sheet menu, you never know what's on the menu but they usually have a few staples like their Brussel sprouts. As this was my boyfriend's first time here, we ordered the Brussell sprouts with popcorn and the Rigatoni. We were given the regular menu but did inquire about Happy Hour and the Brussel sprouts, pastas, and charcuterie board were on special. Unfortunately, they didn't have any oysters available that day. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute front porch. It's a small bar and kitchen that you can see and wonderful that you see and hear all the food being freshly made to order. Our server was friendly, chatty, and attentive but also gave us our space too. The Brussel sprouts served with cheddar popcorn, grapes, and ripped beer cheese is a bit salty, sweet, and so satisfying! My partner doesn't love Brussel sprouts but really enjoyed this dish. The Rigatoni was a bit rich with a nettle became sauce but served with the earthy lily spears, it was a well rounded dish altogether that we also enjoyed. Cute restaurant on the Downtown main strip that isn't a major chain, which is refreshing. Will continue to visit next time in town and hopefully they will have oysters then!

We waited a very long time for our second course, almost an hour and busy it was not. The cab franc was not their best and all three steaks were not close to order. Hard to recommend this one. We will never go back! Management - if you're watching, the thin hostess in the white dress (Monday night) is a complete and utter embarrassment to your brand. She should not be a hostess or even on the front line. To even reference some of her comments made would bring me down to her level, or should I say the restaurants level! Not a great hire.

Maybe the nicest tasting room and restaurant on the Naramata Bench. With a picturesque view of Lake Okanagen and the surrounding area, this place is a must visit if you are in the neighborhood. We arrived after a long day of wine tasting (it was my day to drive unfortunately) so it was nice to settle down with my first glass of wine and share a French baguette with culture butter. Perfect little snack to start out evening off. We then got our seats in the dining room and really got to see what this place was all about. Beautiful and yet not pretentious room, open concept and cozy somehow. Started with their crispy wings, with tagine spices and charred lime. I love a good wing and these delivered in a big way. Spicy and savoury, cooked to perfection. My gf had the triple cooked (yes triple) potatoes with cheese curds and gravy. This plate was incredible like a really high end poutine, I stole a bunch of her plate it was so good. Both out appy's were pub favourite's kicked up to 11, delicious! For mains I had the slow baked halibut with gnocchi, some assorted veggies and chicken jus. Just a revelation in every way. Perfect firm texture for the halibut and every other element on the plate just played together in a magical harmony. The lady had roasted Sable fish with doshi, baby root vegetables and crispy rice. Equally as incredible as mine, I had to steal a bit off that plate too. Almost ate like a cross between an Asian inspired dish and something you would get at a top end seafood restaurant. Excellent! Finished it off rich chocolate and mint ganache that was so good we both just looked at each other after the first bite "like wow" Service was incredible the whole way through the evening and of course if you like wine, Poplar Grove makes incredible stuff...I get 3 shipments a year from them and get excited every time I know one is on the way. Crazy high recommend for me on this place. Do you self a favour and sit on the patio if it's nice out. Cheers Andy

Also the waiters and the hostess was very funny! FOOD: We got the steak tenderloin and it was cooked perfectly! I really enjoyed the charred broccolini on the side as well. Also tried the burger there - that one was a miss. I wouldn't get it again, but I did love their fries! We definitely want to try the other plates of meat that they butcher!

They offer a happy hour menu, which is something not many winery restaurants do, and that's one of the things I like about this place. The restaurant has a fantastic view overlooking the lake and the winery, with a sophisticated ambiance and a super-nice patio. My partner ordered the fish tacos from the happy hour menu. I chose the smoked Lambwich, which featured smoked lamb shoulder, Kentucky BBQ dipping sauce, pickled pepperoncini, lettuce, and mayo on a soft, delicious bun. The fish tacos were made with salmon, lettuce, peluvian dressing and topped with tempura bits. Using salmon for tacos was unique, and it was very flavorful and tasted great. The Lambwich featured pulled lamb and plenty of spicy pickles. The sauce was quite thick, and the side of fries was a bit too salty. To pair with wine, I would have preferred a lighter taste. However, since it's a casual meat sandwich, I think the robust flavor was fitting. We had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which was just great. It had a nice crispness with a lovely fruit flavor, pairing perfectly with our meals. I really loved that wine. Overall, I can't fully judge this restaurant based on the casual dishes we ordered. We'll definitely go back to try other main dishes and appetizers. I'm already looking forward to returning.

No kind hosting convo, which at 5:30 pm shouldn't be too difficult. She handed us a children's colouring sheet menu for our little one but when we realized she wasn't going to bring us crayons we got up to ask for some to be told they've been breaking them In half so they are out. When we ordered a couple of the 'famous fish and chips' it was so disappointing, no seasoning, just a bland fish with a crispy coating. how in the world is this order so popular!? I had to ask for malt vinegar to get some sort of flavour besides the lemon I squeezed on it. We also had ordered the pizza for the table to share and it was so overly chewy and hard with again, no seasoning that the 4 year old couldn't eat it and that was a huge sign that the dinner was an epic failure. It was my choice to come to that restaurant as it was my birthday but we definitely agreed it was a waste of birthday dinner and will not be returning. I spoke to the server and she saw the food left at the table and that we weren't going to stay to even have a birthday dessert (...and I always get dessert when I'm on vacation!) she gave our bill a discount which was helpful bc we still had to go get our little one a meal she would enjoy. If you want a great tasting meal for you and your family, go to Black Diamond, the service was amazing and friendly, they even walked us to our table. The signature ribs were delicious and they even brought out our dessert with a little candle celebrating our daughter's special day. If you have a cold you may enjoy this spot, but if you like flavour, I do not recommend you wasting a reso on this spot.

Not complaining about families, just not something you want to sit beside all the time when there's just two of you. Our server, Madison, was great - attentive, helpful and friendly. We tried the Korean Cauliflower, it was mostly crispy and tasty - recommended . The Patatas Bravas were good - basically a large bowl of roasted fingerling potatoes - they are best when mixed as the tomato sauce at bottom of dish. We tried the daily bread expecting delicious homemade crusty bread - it was corn bread and was ok tasting but lame for the price. None of the food we tried was bad but it wasn't excellent either - we'll be back to try some other menu items. The winner here is dessert and something I would recommend you go here for = the S'mores. They are great. Cook the homemade marshmallows at your table, yes I just said homemade marshmallows - this was the best marshmallow we have ever eaten. Kids love it, adults love it. Go here, you'll love it. It's ridiculous, messy and awesome. Enjoy!
