Back in April 2026, my kid and I decided to take a trip to Penticton for my 65th birthday in July (we had never been before). I started to do research on where to go for my birthday dinner, and since I love tapas, I found this restaurant online. It sounded special. I was unable to reserve a table, though (keep in mind, it was April and I wanted to reserve for a July date). I emailed this restaurant and had a lovely exchange with Kimberly who said she would make the reservation for me and she wished me a very happy birthday and said how honored they were to celebrate such an event with me. SO nice! My kid and I arrived at 6:30 pm on the date in question and unfortunately, Kimberly wasn't there, but our server was super friendly, and we got a seat by the balcony in their covered outdoor patio area. The view of the vineyard and the valley was spectacular! I had their "strawberry punch " cocktail and it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. My kid concurred. We both loved it. She ordered some bubbly wine ("The Isabella") which was lovely (but not as lovely as my cocktail!). Food-wise, we ordered the lemon mackerel, the grilled sardine, the marinated beets in cherry vinaigrette with mint, the baguette, and the paella. OMG each dish was a 5/5. Just wonderful. Every dish. The paella was extra special, with huge prawns, Manilla clams, other kinds of mussels, chorizo, roasted chicken thigh, and Spanish saffron rice. It was chock full of delicious seafood and to die for. For dessert we ordered the cheesecake with the cherry compote. The server brought it out with a sparkler on top, which made it extra celebratory and special! (I wondered if they would charge me for the dessert, as usually restaurants give you the dessert complimentary on your birthday. This restaurant did not do that. lol. But it's okay. It was WORTH IT!). This was truly a special, special meal, and we loved every second of it, and every dish. If and when we return to Penticton, without doubt we will have special meal here. Our second time to The Kitchen by Da Silva. They specialize in Portuguese tapas. Busy Wednesday evening but we'd made reservations (6:00pm). Service was friendly, our waitress checked on us several times. Beware, sparkling is $6.00/bottle. Sad they didn't have any veal tongue available. We shared the house cured mackerel and chimichurri ($16.00), pan seared garlic-citrus calamari ($16.00), grilled eggplant with blackstrap molasses ($10.00) and paella ($48.00). Mackerel was fantastic. Calamari tender, the small bits extra delicious. Eggplant wasn't grilled enough, touch bland. Paella had a good amount of mussels, clams, two prawns and a chicken thigh. Tasty saffron rice but several mussels and clams were sandy. Solid, consistent tapas at TKBDS. 4.5 stars. read more

The Kitchen at Da Silva Winery is amazing and is now my favourite restaurant in the Pentiction/Naramata area. So thankful my local friend suggested this a dinner option to really enjoy the abundance of the region's offerings with Portuguese and Mexican influence. The Kitchen's menu has over 30 tapas and they come out whenever it's done. My favourite is the Paella, Roasted cauliflower, dusted with parmesan cheese, Marinated red beet with mint-balsamic vinaigrette and Duck Leg Confit. We had the last seating at 7:45pm but never felt rushed to leave. Our server was simply the best in that he made suggestions from the menu and advised us that the paella along with 3/4 other tapas would be enough for three. He was right and we were full so don't even order dessert. Due to health restrictions, the patio is the only option for dine in. Take the patio as the views are spectacular and blankets provided if you get chill. Da Silva has it all-excellent food, service and views. I can't wait to come back. The Kitchen - Patio - Basque Near Me - Penticton, British Columbia

Our one fancy meal of our trip was at The Kitchen by Da Silva. The food is Portuguese tapas, all cooked by one chef. We dropped in on a Saturday (with 6:15pm reservations). There's only patio seating and the view is spectacular. Our server, Amy, was excellent. We were recommended 2 to 4 dishes per person (depending on your hunger level). We ended up sharing 7 dishes. The tapas menu is 99% gluten free consisting of vegetarian, seafood, meat and classics from the kitchen. FYI: there's a minimum order of two tapas per person. There's also a chef's choice option but not sure what the price point is. - Boquerones ($7.00) - the citrus note is prominent but we liked it. - Roasted Anaheim peppers, sea salt and garlic oil ($9.00) - it's Russian roulette style whether you get a hot one or not. The seeds had a decent kick (but nothing too spicy). - Veal tongue in tomatillo sauce ($12.00) - tongue was cooked to perfection and the tomatillo sauce accentuated the meat beautifully. Best dish of the night. - Ceviche ($19.00) - the ceviche (halibut) was excellent and came topped with apple, fennel, cucumber, sliced hot peppers and parsley. Slight acidity but everything was well balanced (minus the salty tortilla chips). - Salteados ($9.00) - another fantastic dish. Hearts were cooked perfectly but the grilled onions elevated the flavour to the next level. The sweety drop peppers were juicy and bursting with flavour. - Duck leg confit with amarena cherry gastric ($17.00) - fall off the bone but still retained a great bite. The amarena cherry sauce added a bit of luxury to the duck. - Marinated organic beets and mint-balsamic vinaigrette ($9.00) - reminded me of a watermelon mint salad but with beets. Light, refreshing and paired well with the duck leg confit. All the tapas were well executed. Will try to come back with a larger group so that we can sample more things! Get that veal tongue. 4.5 stars. read more

Unreal spot to eat lunch while touring the wineries. Highlight of our whole day. Highly recommend doing the chefs tasting menu which varies daily based on what they feel. We had an incredible spread of mussels, andouille sausage, giant spot prawns, a white bean and chorizo cassoulet. Also recommend their Spanish espresso martini. We live in Kelowna and look for interesting places to eat. We are extensively internationally travelled experiencing food in Spain, Portugal, Mexico etc. We were very excited to go the Kitchen, but extremely disappointed. We ordered a caesar salad, pototes bravas and paella. We were promised the paella would take 45 mins. At the 1 hour 20 min time we inquired with the server how long it would take. She did not return with infomation. At the 1 hour and 40 min mark we choose to leave and pay for only what we consumed. When I paid, both servers asked if I was leaving a tip. I said 'no' they were diappointed stating they had to pay the cook and dishwasher 5% of the bill. I think the concept is good and the food we received was good, but apparently the cook is the only person producing food for about 40 seats in the restaurant. The menu has an FAQ section demonstrating a high degree of contempt for customers and uses very condescending language. The bottleneck appears to be the cook. I would encourage you to avoid the restaurant until either the cook is replaced or kitchen staff is hired. read more

Six of us very much enjoyed the food, the service, and the view on a sunny Monday afternoon. Tapas was excellent, particularly the old farmer sausage, brazed meat, and meatballs. The ceviche was average for us. We thought the Rose worked well with our meal. Should add we came for wine tasting at Da Silva ... they're separate businesses so wine purchases during wine tasting are subject to corkage fee at restaurant. Just buy the wine at the restaurant. I really enjoyed a light lunch here on a recent Penticton/Naramata wine-tasting vacation. The Kitchen at Misconduct is at the far South end of the Penticton/Naramata wine route. Perhaps only Perseus and Upper Bench wineries are further south. I ordered the potato dish, the cauliflower, the sardine, and the truffle mac & cheese. The stand-out was the truffle mac & cheese for sure ("Wild mushroom and truffle oil "Mac & Squeaky cheese", $12). Simple but flavourful! It also really set me up with a full belly for a day of wine tasting. The cauliflower was a bit disappointing for those who are familiar already with what you can do with this versatile veg (Roasted cauliflower dusted with parmesan, $6). The potatoes were simple, but perfectly done (Patatas bravas, $5). The sardine was deceptively simple (Grilled sardine, squeeze lemon and rock salt, $5). It looked basic, but was a delightful bite of protein to accompany our starch and veg orders. Highly recommended! A note on the setting - the seating area is outdoors on a covered and heated deck. It overlooks Misconduct Winery's crush pad. If you happen to visit during early October, you'll have a view of the winery in full swing crushing grapes for next year's wines. read more

"Tapas With A Mexican Flare" That is definitely accurate. The food was all shareable; however, you don't really want to! The Mac and cheese was my Favorite thing on the menu. But the paella is a close second. I would give it five stars but the pinot noir was the only wine I enjoyed from their vineyard. The best drink on the menu is the sangria. read more

The view was stunning! Service was great...super friendly and attentive. Food was a bit underwhelming for its price and slow. They did have a "warning" on the menu not to expect in and out in an hour. However, it took almost an hour for our first dish to come out. We over heard a server mentioned to another table that there was only one person in the kitchen. Some dishes are over salted like the smelt and slow cooked beef, chorizo was dry and tough. Going to this tapas restaurant is an absolute MUST if you are in the Pentiction/Naramata area. The chef, Abul, is a genius with flavours and you can really feel the passion that he has for food. All our items were delicious and beautifully prepared! The FAQ at the back of the menu is hilarious and genuinely on point. The server (sincerest apologies I cannot remember her name) we had was friendly and checked in on us just enough through out the meal, it was just the right amount of interaction and being left alone to enjoy the food, drinks, and view. The olive tapenade and fresh bread is a great starter, and the roasted/seared veggies (broccoli and cauliflower dishes) were cooked perfectly (not over done but just enough crunch). We have already recommended several people to try it out, and we will certainly be back when we are next in the area. read more

Stopped in there today...ordered one coffee and one wine..my friend was hungry I wasn't. She ordered a vegetable dish. The waitress told us the "kitchen will not be happy" she said is that all you are ordering? I said yes. There was only 4 people on the patio...I said"I think they would be happy with any business let me know what the kitchen says because we can leave and go somewhere else"..she came back set the plate out and I said "what did the kitchen say"..she said "they're not happy but they will serve you...wow..worst customer service I have ever been too...I wanted to leave but my friend was hungry and didn't want to do a wine tour on an empty stomach.... Not sure if the waitress was family of the ownership but what a nasty experience. We didn't even bother to taste the rest of their wines. read more

Amazing. We went with 9 people and Adul (sp) our chef treated us to many tapas dishes. It was equisite. From the cheeses and dips with warm crusty bread, calamari and octopus, fried smelt (my girlfriends favourite), tentacles on a tomato salad, lamb meat balls, chorizo, beets and cauliflower, duck confit... All delicious. Adul brought us chicken hearts, actually quite delicious, worth a try definitely. The pig ears were tasty according to those more game then me ;) The service was incredible. 5/5. All with a beautiful scenic backdrop. We were brought liqueurs at the end and charged $3 for the lot of us. They treated us so very well. The wines were perfect.
