Fantastic lamb chops, French onion soup, rack of lamb and a good wine list. Nice atmosphere for dinner.

Review Highlights - The Cellar Wine Bar

I appreciated how we felt safe as they took the passport seriously and you couldn't enter the restaurant without documents, even though a few tried.

You walk in and it's always bumping and bartender is always making funky and cool drinks and everyone's always having a great time. Lots of conversation between friends or even between strangers at the bar. Service was always great. The best dish is the brussel sprouts - it always has something funky in it - marshmellows or grapes and then cheese. It was so enjoyable and they truly believed in their culinary art. I've always appreciated their evolution of their dishes and it was never boring to come back again and again. I truly hope the owners are able to create another restaurant as creative as this one and make it last. I really truly enjoyed this!

We booked a Happy Hour reservation for the long Sunday Easter long weekend at 4:30pm and we were the first to arrive. As Salt & Brick has an evolving fresh sheet menu, you never know what's on the menu but they usually have a few staples like their Brussel sprouts. As this was my boyfriend's first time here, we ordered the Brussell sprouts with popcorn and the Rigatoni. We were given the regular menu but did inquire about Happy Hour and the Brussel sprouts, pastas, and charcuterie board were on special. Unfortunately, they didn't have any oysters available that day. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute front porch. It's a small bar and kitchen that you can see and wonderful that you see and hear all the food being freshly made to order. Our server was friendly, chatty, and attentive but also gave us our space too. The Brussel sprouts served with cheddar popcorn, grapes, and ripped beer cheese is a bit salty, sweet, and so satisfying! My partner doesn't love Brussel sprouts but really enjoyed this dish. The Rigatoni was a bit rich with a nettle became sauce but served with the earthy lily spears, it was a well rounded dish altogether that we also enjoyed. Cute restaurant on the Downtown main strip that isn't a major chain, which is refreshing. Will continue to visit next time in town and hopefully they will have oysters then!

We had chips and salsa and guacamole, and then a seafood tower, although since they were out of oysters we ended up with two jars of black lumpfish caviar, which was not a bad thing, although the only time I've eaten caviar with a dinner fork.

Our servers on both occasions were highlights, attentive yet also leaving us be. Last night it was just K and I and the previous visit there were five of us outside on the patio. The space is nicely decorated but has no real charm or ambiance, which is understandable in a big hotel. The menu is extensive enough that you should be able to find something to meet the needs of your palate while here, but there are many choices within walking distance that may be a better choice of you are looking for a specific culinary experience. If you don't want to leave the hotel, you shouldn't be disappointed with your choice. Our food while not amazing during each visit was solid, and well presented. It might be a little on the higher end cost wise, but what isn't these days. Given all the choices in the neighbourhood within a short stroll, you may want to explore, but also understand the best choice might be in the hotel you're staying at.

Known as the wine "capitol" of Canada, this lovely little town in the Okanagan just across the U.S. border sees its population grow from roughly 7k to over 60K during the summer beach going season--Winter is a very good time to visit. 15 Park looked like it might fit the bill based on their food porn photos so I strolled there from my cheapo lodging and was seated at an empty bar. This Bistro is located in the Watermark Resort and, normally, requires a reservation due to limited seating. They had a Sunday pre-fix menu option that included prime rib, a salad, and dessert--An easy decision. The meat was cooked to crimson perfection and the meal was divine. Really enjoyed chatting with the bartender and host ... their service was impeccable. Highly recommended if you find yourself in Osoyoos.

The beauty continues across the lake to vineyards along the foothills. The food is delicious at lunch time when we went. From the Shrimp Gyoza and Bao Buns ( which humorously means Buns Buns), to the Ahi Tuna Tacos, it was all amazing. Even had a great Rosé though I forget which one. The park burger and Tuna Poke Bowl were also big hits with the family. The service was great. Very helpful when ordering and on top of everything. Always with a smile. They gave us a delicious chocolate and ice cream something for my wife and I's Birthdays. I don't recall if it was complimentary or if our friends ordered it as to take a phone call and it was there when I got back. I'd eat here over and over if I could. I am regretfully from out of country.
