We don't eat red meat, but that certainly didn't limit our choices. We started with the Chili Shrimp Dumplings, Scallop & Prawn Ceviche, and the Family Milk Bread. Every dish was outstanding. In fact, we wished we'd ordered our own portions! The milk bread was so good we immediately ordered another. Served steaming hot as a freshly baked pull-apart loaf, it was perfect for soaking up every last drop of the incredible sauces. For our entrées, my husband ordered the Ginger Scallion Crab Bowl, generously filled with crab and perfectly cooked noodles. I had the Roasted Sesame Salad with scallion chicken and crispy fried tofu. We sampled each other's dishes, but this was one of those rare occasions where my husband couldn't get enough of his own! I couldn't blame him because mine was every bit as delicious. We were too full for dessert, so we took the tiramisu home to enjoy later. The bar menu also deserves special mention. I ordered the Full Moon Party, a creative twist on a Lemon Drop topped with a light, fluffy lemon foam. It was as beautiful as it was delicious. Watching the bartender create other cocktails convinced me we'll be back to explore more of the menu. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the service. Our server, Svetlana, treated us like royalty and genuinely cared about making our anniversary special. The entire team worked seamlessly together, always smiling and happy to help. Kin & Folk has officially become our favourite restaurant, and we'll definitely be bringing our own kin and folk there in the future. With several beverages, multiple appetizers, generous entrées, and dessert, our bill before tip was about $100 per person. For food and service of this calibre, it was excellent value and made for an unforgettable anniversary celebration. Highly recommended!

Their interpretation of ceviche was beautiful, they offer it with a Thai twist, coconut milk and basil. The drinks were great. Our server Maria was phenomenal, classy and professional. We also ordered the Asian Greens which we also highly recommend. We also tried the soy chicken, which was prepared sous vide style, and made for a very interesting and creative dish. The other main we tried was the ginger scallion crab, which was Italian inspired but with Asian ingredients, such as black bean paste, a lovely dish. The portions were huge, so consider sharing. The tiramisu was also very. We highly recommend this spot and will return when back in town.

The service was great! I ordered a risotto which was good, but not amazing. The asparagus was crunchy and seemed not fully cooked. We sat on the patio but it was loud since it was on a busy street with constant traffic. The outdoor booth was comfortable, although very low down making it hard to reach my food on the table. Overall, this is a great option for a nice meal in Penticton, but could be improved with better seating and higher quality cooking.

We are Americans that live in a somewhat remote area, so we regularly travel to the Penticton area for shopping and amenities that can't be found in our local area. After we completed our errands this afternoon we decided to stop in to The Nest for a round of drinks and appetizers before returning home. We had the pleasure of being served by the owner himself, who is an extremely friendly and polite gentleman. The vibe upon walking in immediately felt casual and welcoming. The owners passion for what he does shines when he speaks about the menu and about the restaurant. He was extremely attentive despite being short staffed this evening, and being it was our first time in he took the time to explain that the restaurant uses only locally sourced ingredients, and makes as much as they can from scratch in house. The drink menu is pretty expansive and is full of many craft cocktails that are not commonly found elsewhere. Being someone who loves a French 75 and a Tom Collins, I was happy to see both. You'll find many specialty flavors of margaritas, gin and tonics, and smoked cocktails all made with locally distilled spirits. Additionally, they have a nice selection of local beer, wine, and cider when available. As far as the food menu, there are few (if any!) other restaurants I can honestly say I would be willing to try every item on the menu, but this is one of them. There is a unique collection of dishes and options for everyone, with entree options varying from red meat, to seafood, to gluten free, to vegetarian. We opted for two of the appetizers, the baked Brie and nuts and the bison carpaccio. Both were exceptional and fresh tasting. The quality of the ingredients used is apparent. This place will have to be one of our go-to spots from now on. The service is enough to keep you coming back, but we are so looking forward to trying everything else the menu has to offer. Highly recommend giving this place a chance if you haven't already!

Elma is built for sharing, and we leaned heavily into dishes with sweeter, fruit-forward profiles that turned out to be absolute hits: - Spreads: We tried both the Girit and Muhammara dips, with the Girit being our favorite for its creamy texture and unique flavor profile. - Starters & Mains: The charcoal-grilled octopus was cooked to perfection, the sea bass came with an incredible green sauce, and the Elma pide had amazing cheese pulls paired with a lovely truffle honey. The chicken shish with apricot glaze and the lamb kebab were standouts, but my absolute favorite dish was the slow-cooked lamb shank with its sweet fig glaze. - Dessert: We finished with the Laz Börek cannoli. Using crispy, light phyllo instead of a traditional fried tube was a clever twist, though it can get a bit messy to eat with your hands! The affogato looked amazing too, though we were too full to try it. A quick note for larger groups: We were a group of 10+, and because online reservations cap at 6 people, getting two tables placed together took a bit of back-and-forth friction. Minor logistics aside, the flavors were top-tier, and the setting on the lake can't be beat. Highly recommend!

Even after the apology and given 2 more menus (one for Brunch and one for drinks), it left a bad taste in my mouth about a first impression of the business. Thankfully, the food was fresh and tasty! We dropped in around 1:00pm and snagged seats on one of their outdoor picnic tables. Our server was friendly but beware, they don't inform you of the automatic 18% gratuity on the bill. Nothing on any of their menu's state that either. Super unimpressed because we ended up double tipping. Menu consists of appetizers, hot sandwiches + burgers, cold sandwiches and salads. They also have a brunch menu (weekends only from 9:00am to 1:00pm) and drinks. - Rocking horse caesar ($8.25) - O is a picky drinker but he said it wasn't half bad. - 2x Weezy wings ($12.00) - our group shared one order with a dill dip ($1.00 extra). The wings were not good; dry and almost tasteless. The louisian style hot sauce they coated the wings with was bland. - Seattle fries ($6.00) - found these oversalted. - 4x Pastrami ($15.00) - we opted for the kettle chips (made in-house). A touch of a peppery Cajun note. The pastrami had a good sauce and the cheese complimented the meat. The bread was well buttered and had a crunchy bite to it. - Choreazy ($15.00) - we went with the daily soup (chicken and rice) which was delicious. Homey and comforting, something your mom/grandma would feed you. The chorizo was homemade but flavours were a bit mute. An okay sandwich that we didn't particularly love or hate. Food was decent but can't get over the shady practices. 2.5 stars.

Since my kid and I love Greek food, Theo's was definitely on my list, if we had the chance, to have dinner here one night. Wow, what a marvelous restaurant! The restaurant exterior is unassuming but wow, inside, the decor is fabulous! We couldn't decide where to sit as every area inside was so picturesque and felt so intimate. Ultimately, we chose to sit in the front covered patio area. It felt like a little courtyard and our table was located a corner under a REAL grape tree. With hanging grapes! A small water-fountain gurgled behind us. We truly felt whisked away to some faraway Greek island. The menu was very large, with SO many dishes and platters to cheese from. We weren't starving, so we decided to share the moussaka (and hopefully save room for dessert!). Their cocktail menu looked fabulous, too, but we really wanted to save our appetite for the entree. (We've learned our lesson in the past, not to over-order!). When the moussaka arrived, the portion was very ample, and it was perfect to split in half. And we both agreed: it was probably the BEST moussaka we had ever had. Seriously, perfectly cooked, deliciously seasoned, perfect ratio of all the individual ingredients, just DELICIOUS and perfect. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! My kid loved the accompanying potatoes and carrots and lemony rice too, but I was too full from the main meal. And unfortunately, we were too full for dessert. Our server was lovely and attentive. My kid and I agreed we definitely will come back here when we next visit Penticton. I think this was the best Greek restaurant we've ever been to!
