My dads 4 choices

While out in Penticton visiting my aunt and uncle insisted we check out highway 97. Once we pulled into the building we were greeted warmly my the bartender who had a great friendly smile on his face. One of the first things that caught my eye was a wall filled with pictures of dogs who have visited the place ! My aunt and uncle has been here before and already had an idea of what they wanted to order, the two newbies from Montreal didn't so we decide to get a sample of four. The bartender happily gave suggestions and listened to what we liked and didn't like and sent us on our way with our sampler pack and told us how to properly enjoy. Each beer had a unique flavour and was delicious to try, with 8 options on tap there's sure to be something for everyone to enjoy! Once refills were need our bartender didn't hesitate to get everyone just what they wanted, he made sure to check in and ask questions the whole time we were there and really made you feel at home. With several options in the area this is defiantly one I would suggest, weather you're into dark beers light beers fruity beers or dog pictures on walls this is the spot to check out, and if you really like something from here you can even fill up a crawler or buy a pre packed 6 pack!!!! What more could you want !

Mmmmmm... solid beers all in all. I love the Isley peated scotch ale but their beers are so yummy some of the hits are sold out. I can't wait to try the double IPA. Good prices and great folks who brew the beer and run the joint. I'll be back more often than not. The steak and porter pie hits the spot if you're on the road.

The Double IPA! Fantastic Brew!

Penticton has quite an awesome craft brewery scene - these guys have been around since 2001! We got 2 flights, with our usual ones we want to try. Saisons, Hazy IPAs, stouts, sours, etc. but one that caught my eye that we normally don't go for was the Okadaze that is an apricot and pinot gris juice wheat ale. BOY! Was this delicious. Through our drinks, all the nachos around me were making me pretty hungry. I remember seeing a 5 spice ribs with cumin slaw and thinking we've got to try that. It tasted exactly as it sounded. The ribs were tender and the slaw had a great tang and kick to it. We walked out of there with a pack of the Okadaze because it was just so easy to drink. The space was huge inside and the patio outside also seated a lot of people. The can designs were also really beautiful. Can't wait to go back this summer!

Cannery (I think?) themed brewery in downtown Penticton…read more Parking is available on the street. The place is basically a decorated warehouse. High ceilings, and the paintings on the wall give it a bit of a gallery feel. Staff are friendly. No complaints. As of my visit, there were 11 brews. Most are light to medium. Beers were tasty and hit the spot. Buddy and I also got free popcorn with our beer purchase. Bonus. Who doesn't like popcorn. This place does have a decent food selection as well, though I didn't try. Worth checking out if one is thirsty.

Granted, I'm sure it looks different when shops are open and everyone isn't at home self-isolating. My partner had heard good things about this brewery so we decided to check it out on a rainy day. There wasn't anyone there when we arrived so we waited around for a few minutes and the owner (I think?) appeared from the back. He was friendly and told us about the beers available for tasting. There was 8 on the board so we decided to get 2 flights (4 glasses per flight). He even threw in a free one for us of a beer blend that wasn't on the menu *win!* We thoroughly enjoyed almost all the beers we tried. They were easy to drink but still had depth and complex flavour profiles. I especially liked the Paradise Coconut Hopfenweisse - it was so unique. The brewery has a homey feel, with board games and adventure magazines on the side for customers. I think they had some snacks available (we didn't get any) but there's no hot food served. If you're looking for an unpretentious, no-fuss brewery with excellent service and great beer, check out Tin Whistle!

We couldn't pass up the chance to check them out, so were happy to see them open on a Saturday at 11:30am. It's never too early for a good dark beer, is it? We shared a flight of 4 beers for $5 and especially enjoyed the Midnight Peach and Killer Bee. We left with 2 of each--each priced at $5/bottle. It was interesting that no other patrons were there during the time we were and that no previous reviews have been done. The beers are definitely noteworthy, so I hope they will get more recognition soon! There certainly were a number of games available to play, so with more time and more friends we would've stayed a bit longer.

We ordered 20oz draft lager ($8.75), Calamari ($18), Dry Ribs ($17), Pulled Pork Sandy ($19.50), and Rose Alfredo Pasta ($19). We meant to say we ordered Baby Back Ribs as waitress misheard it as Dry Ribs. We missed the timing to correct out order. Everything was pretty good except Dry Ribs. Calamari was crispy and flavourful. Dry Ribs didn't stand out as much. It was just dry ribs with salty and peppery flavour in a small portion. Pulled Pork Sandwich was fantastic with plentiful of fries. Sandwich was nicely made with coleslaw. Meat stuffing was delicious as well. Rose Pasta was mouthwateringly tasty. Garlic bread was so good even with Rose pasta sauce. Staff were nice and friendly. Barley Mills was a great place for our dinner last night. There was a pool table by the washroom if any customers want to play pool with friends after work. It was quite a memorable dining experience. Food was two thumbs worthy. I would love to dine here again with my family.

Typical tasty pub food. Hit the spot. As of my visit they have 5 beers (light to medium). Enough for a flight basically. Can't go wrong. Good choice for getting food in the area.

The bare walls could use some color and there really needs something to baffle some of the noise...it's very loud! It didn't help the night we were there there was a table of six who appeared to have been there for some time. A couple of whom were VERY boisterous! Nor did it help when one of the staff sat very close sorting/drying cutlery very noisily. Food-wise we had the halibut and chips. Excellent, crispy, batter. Fresh moist halibut. Tasty coleslaw and 8/10 fries. Beer-wise: We had a pale ale and a stout which were both very nice. Service was courteous but not engaging...no follow up 'is everything OK.' We got the impression the staff were new and that they were shorthanded. Will definitely be back.
