And, let's be honest *checks map* there are not a lot of dining options in Mazama! In fact, earlier in the day, we actually popped in to ask if they took reservations (they don't) and to get a sense of the best time to arrive for dinner. The staff was super helpful and suggested coming around 5/5:30pm to beat the crowds. We followed their advice and showed up just after 5:30 and sure enough, there were still some tables available both inside and outside. We chose a shaded outdoor table and then placed our order at the register/bar. I went with the poke bowl because... of course I did. The portion size was generous, so generous that I couldn't finish it (probably because I had already devoured a massive pulled pork sandwich earlier at the Mazama Store... no regrets). The fish was fresh and the flavors were great. Service was impeccable. Everyone we interacted with was friendly yet efficient. Prices were also very reasonable especially for a relatively remote mountain town. While I didn't have any of the beers, there are plenty of craft brews available. All in all, Mazama Public House is a gem of a spot nestled in one of Washington's most scenic areas. Whether you're a hiker, cyclist, or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping in for a great meal and good vibes!

Granted, I'm sure it looks different when shops are open and everyone isn't at home self-isolating. My partner had heard good things about this brewery so we decided to check it out on a rainy day. There wasn't anyone there when we arrived so we waited around for a few minutes and the owner (I think?) appeared from the back. He was friendly and told us about the beers available for tasting. There was 8 on the board so we decided to get 2 flights (4 glasses per flight). He even threw in a free one for us of a beer blend that wasn't on the menu *win!* We thoroughly enjoyed almost all the beers we tried. They were easy to drink but still had depth and complex flavour profiles. I especially liked the Paradise Coconut Hopfenweisse - it was so unique. The brewery has a homey feel, with board games and adventure magazines on the side for customers. I think they had some snacks available (we didn't get any) but there's no hot food served. If you're looking for an unpretentious, no-fuss brewery with excellent service and great beer, check out Tin Whistle!

We couldn't pass up the chance to check them out, so were happy to see them open on a Saturday at 11:30am. It's never too early for a good dark beer, is it? We shared a flight of 4 beers for $5 and especially enjoyed the Midnight Peach and Killer Bee. We left with 2 of each--each priced at $5/bottle. It was interesting that no other patrons were there during the time we were and that no previous reviews have been done. The beers are definitely noteworthy, so I hope they will get more recognition soon! There certainly were a number of games available to play, so with more time and more friends we would've stayed a bit longer.
