On the hill just past the US/Canadian border. Most unique tasting. Our host was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We tried all of the wines and a perfect amount to taste. We started with gewurztraminer with sage and went on from there. We did purchase the wine with red pepper in the bottle and thought it would be a great mixer in cocktails.

Perhaps the best tasting experience I've ever had at any winery. Elena was our host and her quick wit and charisma made our tasting experience unforgettable. It was because of her attention to detail and quips about each wine that really set it apart. None of the overly pretentiousness of some other wineries I've encountered. The tasting was FREE and included THIRTEEN different wines. Whites, reds, and dessert wines were explored and my favourites were the 2020 Gewurztraminer, 2020 Pinot Blanc, 2019 The Pearle, and 2019 The Flame with the pepper in the bottle. I couldn't leave without getting a couple bottles. You won't find them in government liquor stores, so get out there for a visit and pick some up!

We've been touring the Okanogan Valley for a number years every summer looking for the best wines. I have to say that Silver Sage has the most interesting and delicious wines and the wine make her here gives a wonderful presentation. There's no tasting fee because their wines are so fantastic people line up at the counter. It is our yearly destination now!

Spoiler alert: OMG, the wines at Silver Sage are AMAZING. At Silver Sage Winery, stop #7, for those of you keeping track, the wine tasting is very systematic and impersonal. The employee pours the sample, gives a rapid spiel about the wine that they have obviously recited for the hundredth time that day, and then quickly moves on to the next wine, with no time to waste. Despite the slightly off-putting manner of the way the sampling is conducted, you're too busy marvelling at how delicious the wine is. They give you samples of all (I think) their wines, and on the day of our visit, there were 12 out of 13 samples available, and Initially, I thought there was no way that I was going to try all 12 wines, as I was feeling the effects of sampling wine all day, but the wines were so interesting and tasty, that I couldn't resist. The first wine we sampled was the Gewürztraminer. Delicious, as expected. Then the Pinot Blanc, which was also really good. But the third wine, their Sage Grand Reserve, which is a Gewürztraminer fermented with sage.... OMG. The wines sampled were: -White wines: Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Sage Grand Reserve -Red wines: Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sunset -Dessert wines: Merlot, The Pearle, Blueberry, Pinot Blanc, The Flame, Raspberry The Flame was another favourite. It's a late harvest Gewürztraminer, infused with chilli pepper. There are two versions, one mild, and one regular version. The regular version literally has a chilli pepper in the bottle, while the mild does not. The wine tasting is by donation, but because I spent nearly $80 on three bottles of wine (the Sage Grand Reserve; the Flame--the one with the chilli pepper in it, of course; and the Sunset), I did not feel bad about not donating, or eating all the cheese cubes in the bowl. The first winery I visit every time I am in Osoyoos - a must visit! We always end up leaving with a case of wine. We pick up their Grand Reserve, Pinot Blanc, Sunset and The Passion. We also always grab a few dessert wines - their blueberry wine is delicious and has 4 pounds of fruit per bottle and tastes like fresh picked blueberries. Absolutely amazing!

Would you like some humour with your wine? You'll get it here! The host and hostess crack jokes about their wines -- some are even on the naughty side, I love it! They have a selection of white and red table wines, including a very unique white called Sage Grand Reserve ($26.96). It's made with Gewurztraminer (an already fragrant grape) then fermented with wild sage plants. The resulting aroma is like nothing you've tried before. Another unique find here is The Flame Aperitif Wine($24.95). It's a late harvest Gewurztraminer with a hot red pepper in the bottle! You can sip it on its own or take your Caesar to a whole new level. I *love* Caesars made with The Flame instead of vodka. It's highly recommended!! They also have a wide selection of grape and/or fruit dessert wines. There is a beautiful garden out front, so if you're there in the summer, make sure to leave some time to smell the roses!

Beautiful estate with beautiful garden. Tasting was free. I tasted 3 red wines and 3 fruit wines, all wonderful! I bought Merlot $20 with tax. Fruit Wines were around $24 before tax. White wine Sage ($26 before tax) was very good as well.

We had the nachos and Potato Confit Flatbread - both were super good, including the cilantro crema of the nachos. The peach Bellini machine wasn't ready when we first arrived, but by the end it was available to give us testers and we might come back just for those. TIP: drinks can only be consumed in the patio of the establishment you're buying from, but food can be delivered to any of those patios. Centre seating is table service by Ward's that allows you a taste of beverages from any of the vendors. Also, the water features around the center are pet (and people) friendly for cooling off on a hot day. The outdoor environment, even on a hot day, was a nice setting for appreciating the surrounding area. Also enjoyed the acknowledgment of First Nations' people who first inhabited the area (like all good Canadian establishments).

Our first year, I went with the steak (which was excellent), and most of our group ordered the seafood linguine and sablefish. He had struck gold. That grilled cheese prosciutto sandwich was next-level. Ever since, it's been the reason we come back year after year. Rich, savory, perfectly crisped -- it's comfort food with class. I genuinely look forward to it all year and savor every bite. Pro tip: pair it with a chilled glass of Gewürztraminer. **Note: Reviews are based on my experience when I was there during early September…read more I love carbohydrates in any form, especially bread. Platinum Bench is a great place to grab fresh artisan bread for your breakfast. Come early for it because it SELLS OUT. However, I would be conscious of how much you want to order and when you order. Platinum's bread is hot out of the oven, with a crunchy crust, pillowy soft inside, with the right texture of chewiness. We tried 4 types of bread, and overall, I would recommend: - Asiago Cheese - Gorgonzola & Fig Preserves The smell of the bread is amazing, and the taste delivers with the right amount of sweet/savory balance between the cheeses + fruit. I would've wanted more/bigger pieces of fig preserves or pear in the bread, but that's just my personal preference. The only thing I wasn't too impressed with was the service. In any type of food service, I expect kindness, welcoming attitudes, and compassion. However, the lady who was there at the time was not friendly and had an overbearing attitude which was a major disappointment and turnoff for me. Aside from the poor service, some improvements I would suggest to the overall physical environment include: A. Have a bigger sign that states each type of artisan bread you sell - this will allow people to see the options you offer. This will help avoid huge clumps of people hovering at one place, and allow customers know what they want to order ahead of time. B. Have a sign that specifically states where the line for bread is, and where the line for wine tasting is. It was quite confusing and not well marked. C. Have signs that states which parking spots are reserved for wine tours vs private cars. Overall, not bad. Don't think I'll be going back to try out their actual winery experience, but if you are wine-hopping around the area, I think dropping by for their artisan bread can be worth it.
