We had chips and salsa and guacamole, and then a seafood tower, although since they were out of oysters we ended up with two jars of black lumpfish caviar, which was not a bad thing, although the only time I've eaten caviar with a dinner fork.

Our servers on both occasions were highlights, attentive yet also leaving us be. Last night it was just K and I and the previous visit there were five of us outside on the patio. The space is nicely decorated but has no real charm or ambiance, which is understandable in a big hotel. The menu is extensive enough that you should be able to find something to meet the needs of your palate while here, but there are many choices within walking distance that may be a better choice of you are looking for a specific culinary experience. If you don't want to leave the hotel, you shouldn't be disappointed with your choice. Our food while not amazing during each visit was solid, and well presented. It might be a little on the higher end cost wise, but what isn't these days. Given all the choices in the neighbourhood within a short stroll, you may want to explore, but also understand the best choice might be in the hotel you're staying at.

I forgot to make my review when I had this place last - and unfortunately it is going away :(…read more I really enjoyed the ambiance of this place. You walk in and it's always bumping and bartender is always making funky and cool drinks and everyone's always having a great time. Lots of conversation between friends or even between strangers at the bar. Service was always great. The best dish is the brussel sprouts - it always has something funky in it - marshmellows or grapes and then cheese. It was so enjoyable and they truly believed in their culinary art. I've always appreciated their evolution of their dishes and it was never boring to come back again and again. I truly hope the owners are able to create another restaurant as creative as this one and make it last. I really truly enjoyed this!

We booked a Happy Hour reservation for the long Sunday Easter long weekend at 4:30pm and we were the first to arrive. As Salt & Brick has an evolving fresh sheet menu, you never know what's on the menu but they usually have a few staples like their Brussel sprouts. As this was my boyfriend's first time here, we ordered the Brussell sprouts with popcorn and the Rigatoni. We were given the regular menu but did inquire about Happy Hour and the Brussel sprouts, pastas, and charcuterie board were on special. Unfortunately, they didn't have any oysters available that day. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute front porch. It's a small bar and kitchen that you can see and wonderful that you see and hear all the food being freshly made to order. Our server was friendly, chatty, and attentive but also gave us our space too. The Brussel sprouts served with cheddar popcorn, grapes, and ripped beer cheese is a bit salty, sweet, and so satisfying! My partner doesn't love Brussel sprouts but really enjoyed this dish. The Rigatoni was a bit rich with a nettle became sauce but served with the earthy lily spears, it was a well rounded dish altogether that we also enjoyed. Cute restaurant on the Downtown main strip that isn't a major chain, which is refreshing. Will continue to visit next time in town and hopefully they will have oysters then!

The dish had a refined French touch, with balanced seasoning that let the ingredients shine rather than being overpowered by salt. I paired it with a glass of Bordeaux, which elevated the flavors beautifully. The pâté was incredibly well-seasoned, with a smooth yet rich texture. The onions and pickles were a standout--normally, I'm not a fan of preserved vegetables, but these weren't overly sour. Instead, they added a refreshing contrast and helped cut through any heaviness, making each bite feel perfectly balanced. The onions even had a subtle sweetness that complemented the pâté's savory depth. The duck was melt-in-your-mouth tender yet retained a satisfying bite, with a perfect pink center. The red wine sauce brought out the richness of the meat, and paired with the house wine, it was simply perfection. Venue Soft French melodies playing in the background set a relaxed, Parisian-style ambiance. It truly felt like a little escape to France. Service The server greeted us in French--such a charming and welcoming touch! They had a great sense of humor, making the experience even more enjoyable. Midway through dinner, I caught the aroma of another table's lamb rack, and wow--it smelled incredible. Definitely my biggest regret of the night not ordering it, but now I have the perfect excuse to come back! Overall: A must-visit for French cuisine lovers. Can't wait to return! This version keeps your personal insights while making it flow smoothly and engagingly. Let me know if you'd like any tweaks!

Similar but different, it promises a premium steakhouse experience, which it, for the most part, delivered. The building itself is cool, with plenty of parking across the street, or on the street. It's dark inside like a steakhouse should be. Timbers on the ceiling, good sized booths not to close together. The service was excellent as would be expected given the prices. The table side Caesar salad was very tasty, and well presented. Our waiter was top notch, and the maître de came around and showed us the cuts of steak while explaining how they should be cooked. The sides were very good, served family style. The mashed potatoes were top quality, and the fries (we had a young person with us) great as well. The steaks were all excellent, except my tenderloin, that looked unlike any tenderloin that I have ever been served. It had a fair amount of fat, which I've not seen before and was hanging out one side (see photos). The "choose your weapon" was a nice touch, I'll let you experience that for yourselves. We all had a dessert which were great, other than my sorbet that had quite a few icy bits and chunks on it, which should not be there. Overall almost perfect, as it should be given the bill, but that $60 steak should have been fed to the staff. Would we go again, probably.
