I feel like I remember it being better I asked for extra pickles and I was given like a side of four pickles, I would appreciated them filling the entire plastic container cup versus just putting a couple pickles in the cup. I know that's nitpicking. The mac & cheese was actually just OK. It wasn't as good as I remembered. Me and my friend came in today, we ordered a turkey club and Mac n cheese, the buffalo chicken tenders, and sweet potato fries. The food was okay, the club was good but the buffalo sauce on the tenders tasted off, and looked like Franks. The Mac n cheese tasted like boxed Mac n cheese, the sweet potato fries were probably the best thing we ordered. The service was good, cups were full. The reason for the low review is that me and my friend are both sick to our stomachs now. I see where it could happen with the chicken. But a turkey sandwhich is hard to make someone sick off of. I worked in the restaurant industry for years so I'm not sure if it was old oil, or cross contamination. read more

This restaurant could do better. It fails in focusing the little details. I had the 1/2 pound bacon cheese burger and the fresh cut fries. The burger was excellent. The thick beef patty was cooked exactly as ordered and escorted by fresh LTPO&M. The fries well.... Who doesn't like those little over cooked crunchy crispy French fry pieces. Tasty because they are almost burnt and saturated with oil. But, would you like a plate full of them. A plate full of crumbs. Fryer left overs. This doesn't match the pictures of the long finger length fries posted on Google and Yelp. Cooks, pay attention to the details. Someone somewhere is going to take a picture of your work. My wife had the Caribbean Salad. A big fresh salad with a nice grilled marinated chicken breast. It came with a small cup of perfect guacamole. She chose the Tomato Vinaigrette dressing recommended by our server Hannah. The perfect dressing for this salad. The down side was the harsh garlic flavor in the marinade used on the grilled chicken breast. It was fresh garlic, just too much in the house made marinade; overpowering all the other flavors in the salad. Back off a little on the garlic. The service was friendly, attentive and responsive. The Brook is just not quite good enough to draw me back more frequently. Inessential Commentary........... My last visit was May of 2019, pre Covid. The first thing I noticed today were plexiglass panels that are still up, standing guard, providing that lifesaving impenetrable wall of protection between each booth. Installed sometime during the pandemic as a result of the hysteria created from the misguided incompetence spewed from those heavily invested in big pharma and plexiglass manufacturing. I felt uncomfortable today not having a mask on while chewing my food. Not criticism of the restaurant. An action they had to take to try to stay in business. It was a tough time for everyone. The Brook is great for delicious, inexpensive food. Excellent for kids and groups. Service is always fast. They have a full bar and great drink specials. They are fun, fast, and never disappoint. Ambience is fun, not fancy. If you haven't tried The Brook, you should. My only gripe is anything that is ordered with buffalo sauce is always swimming in sauce. The portions have always been big and cost effective. My all time favorite is the mac and cheese, its so fresh and loaded with cheese. The best appetizer has got to be the cheese fries, just don't come counting calories. The dining room is of ample size and most are booths that are oversize and can handle most oklahomans. Be sure to get there early as there is usually a 30-1 hr. Wait on evening weekends. My wife and I ordered the fried pickles for an app. I had the fish and chips and she had the southwest nachos. The pickles were awesome and the fries were good. That's about where it stops. Unfortunately, the chicken on the nachos had a really funky flavor. They mixed it with some kind of ranch sauce, which we thought was strange. The flavor was not good. The menu stated "beer battered" fish. They fish patties were flat and in a too perfect shape. They were not beer battered. My opinion is that they were frozen patties that were purchased from a food service. Very flat in flavor, too. For the food quality, the price was way too high. The ambiance was pretty quiet for conversation.. The service was okay. Our waitress had a very flat affect. Not very personable. Overall, I would choose somewhere else. read more

Nine of us went on a Sunday night to celebrate a family birthday. Our server, was very helpful and efficient. I ordered a Reuben sandwich with a side of their famous cheese fries and both were delicious AND enough for two meals. My wife had bleu cheese burger with a side of broccoli (which was enough for a lifetime). First time here today. I ordered a philly steak hoagie which came with a side. I asked the waitress if the mashed potatoes were instant and she said yes. I don't eat out often , and I guess I know now why. I have never in my life poured a box of powdered potatoes into a pan with hot water and eaten it, and I thought restaurants were food professionals. I passed on the potatoes and she suggested the mac and cheese. The sandwich tasted very good, but small amount of meat for the price. The mac and cheese was shell noodles with what appeared to be canned cheese that was heated and poured on the top. Once again, my own mac and cheese is made with real cheese and cream, nothing out of a can. Needless to say, I won't be going back and will most likely not eat out at any restaurants for a while, at least when I cook at home I know what I am eating. I tried fried mushrooms for.the first time, I've never liked mushrooms and these were really good! Dipped in ranch.The menu mentioned chicken breast marinated in their special house marinade so that made me curious. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and the flavor on the chicken was really good! I will say the chicken itself was over cooked and very dry. I asked the waitress if I could have some sauce on the side for it, but she said they marinate the chicken in it so they can't give me any, because of the raw chicken that's soaking in it. The bun was dry too so that didn't help. The tater tots were tasty that came with it, and like I said the flavor was good. My margarita on the rocks was very good! Super strong. Not good experience. Looking for someplace new close to home and online menu had nice variety of "bar" type food. We had SW nachos, turkey Reuben w/ Mac n cheese, blackened chix sandwich w/ fries and drinks. Sadly, everything arrived lukewarm and flavorless. Even drink (lavendar lemonata) was just bad. Worst part was service which can often be a redeemer, but waitress also fell short. She was loud, unfriendly and curt. She was training a new gal who was very sweet but her mentor was not. Little annoyances like asking for water 2x but finally got my own from the bar. Server seemed impatient and quite put out to have to answer any questions. No flavor at all just cheese and noodle no seasoning, on top of that there's no reason chicken fried steak should be chewy. Teds is a local owner restaurant and their CFS is wayyyy better.
