    Personalized & tasted so good!

LOVE this little bakery in Madeira!! Have been getting treats for my pups from them for years (which they love) but stopped by to get some sweets for myself as well! Shop is cute, employees are friendly and the Brew Crew is the best. Supporting young adults with disabilities, local breweries and a small business. They take orders for personalized treats for your pups special occasion, and the personalized cookies we got tasted great! You can't go wrong with shopping here!!

My puppy's amazing 1st bday cake!

Only good things to say about STAF having adopted several cats there over many years. Recent…read moreadoption was a previously adopted cat returned after a rather traumatic home situation. Volunteers (Jean, Amanda, Julie, Amy) were so helpful, supportive, friendly. I can't praise them enough. In just 5 days my "scaredy" cat has left his hiding place, explored the house and is happily settling in. I think this reflects the good care he received at STAF while awaiting a new home.

They do absolutely everything they can to make sure that all of the animals' best interests are considered and taken care of. What I appreciated so much is how much detail I received from them. I knew what each cat was eating, their history, medical information and more. We received a huge goodie bag filled with food for each cat, litter, toys, treats and more. Having this makes the transition from the shelter to home go so much better. We worked with Jean who is amazing! Thank you so much for your concern, the details you provided and your honesty. (You alerted us to a potential minor issue with one of the cats which never happened.) We absolutely love our cats and owe so much to the dedication of the volunteers at STAF who made this happen. Take advantage of the map that is included in the brochure. I had no idea what I might have missed because it was impossible for me to keep track of where I'd been. I did buy a three-day pass. If I go back tomorrow, rest assured I will keep track of my comings and goings by using the map. Enjoy and don't spend too much money!

There is a wide variety of artwork that covers a lot of areas, including photography, jewelry, sculpture, and more. There are several hundred artists who are accepted, so there is a lot to see. But if that's not enough, they also offer a variety of programming, including music and a fun kids area, plus a lot of options for good eating. I have attended several years now (they are almost at 50 years of holding the event!), and have enjoyed each time. I have purchased several items that I still enjoy today, including a pair of earrings from several years ago that remains one of my favorites. My most recent visit was this year's, and it was as fascinating as ever. I had the opportunity to get into some fun conversations with a few artists, and it was neat to learn about their processes for creating their art. Location is at Coney Island, and parking is included in the ticket price. Although a lot of artists have started using Square to more easily accommodate credit card purchases, I would still recommend bringing some cash, particularly for the ticket booth.

The prices have…read moreconsistently been wonderful, and because pricing is managed independently at the store level, it never gets outrageous the way some larger chain thrift stores can. There are multiple sections of the store that are especially rich in great finds. The kitchen section is fantastic, with tons of glassware and kitchenware to dig through. They also have a large selection of wall art and picture frames. You'll also find plenty of trinkets, vases and planters, and furniture scattered throughout the store, which really adds to the treasure hunt feel. The main body of the store is filled with many clothing racks, and I've found a lot of great brands here, including plenty of Levi's jeans and similar staples. This is always the thrift store I recommend when someone says they want to start thrifting but don't know where to begin. It's approachable, affordable, and consistently rewarding. The staff has always been wonderful as well. There are a few employees who have worked here for years, and every interaction I've had with them has been pleasant and friendly. Sometimes the store can feel a little chaotic, but honestly, that just adds to the fun of searching through everything. Overall, I don't think I've ever left this store empty handed.

There have been a few employees that I am not sure love their job...BUT THEN THERE IS DARLENE. Darlene (and even Mike) are the shining stars in this place and they make up for any deficiencies. And if the truth be known, Darlene is one of the reasons we go there- she is a beautiful soul with a heart for people and I have seen many other people come in who also greet Darlene by name! So she knows her folks- and when you know your folks, you are treated right and want to keep coming back. There isn't enough room here to express our appreciation for Darlene. Mike, the current manager, is a good one, too. He is kind and warm and he genuinely cares about his customers. One day this will all be gone. Time and space will overtake us and we will all move on. BUt for now, this is my place, and I enjoy every minute I am there. Darlene, don't you ever change. And Mike, steer that ship! You are appreciated more than you can imagine.
