Exceptionally good subs and soup! Wish they opened a shop where I live in Chicago area! Homemade bread is amazing!

Stopped for lunch while on a cross country road trip. This place was a great little spot for several reasons. It's easy to get to from the interstate, it's clean and welcoming, with plenty of parking, and the food offers a delicious variety, from soups, to salads and sandwiches. There are also vegetarian options. I had the chipotle veggie wrap, while my boyfriend had the Train Wreck wrap. We split some broccoli and cheese soup. We stopped here for a quick bite while we were touring properties/homes in the area. Our group of 6 all fully enjoyed their sandwiches. My husband and I split the chicken fajita sandwich - while we couldn't figure out what was "fajita-ish" about it, it was quite tasty. We were just passing through and needed to grab sandwiches to go. Super quick and the sandwiches - especially the Stoker - were delicious. And all the sandwiches come in various sizes, from 4 in to 24 in. Very reasonably priced. Pro tip: Sub the sunflower seed cracked wheat bread. read more

The Breadboard has some of the best, if not the best, sandwiches I have ever had. The bread is wonderful, as are all of the toppings that went in between. Seriously, I can't over emphasize how great my sandwich was. The reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because it is pretty dumpy inside, including obnoxious signs around the place (written on plain pieces of paper with messages like "Do NOT put full cups in the trash!" - very classy). The service was, "okay," but nothing to write home about. I mean, this is a VERY small town and the Breadboard is right off the highway, the least they can do is offer the weary traveler and local resident alike some small town smiles and charm. I've met the owner twice - not a fan. All the other places I've eaten in Buffalo, WY (and there are a LOT for such a small town) have been beyond pleasant - this place, not so much. We were delighted with this place - so much so that we sought out one of the other 3 stores in Wyoming as we travelled through. We enjoyed "The Stoker" -- chicken, bacon and sub ingredients, the meatball sub and an Italian sub, all delicious. This is a local business started by 2 Wyoming guys who actually work in the stores, and it is heavily patronized by local people. The bread is outstanding -- they make it themselves and as a bread maker myself, I was quite impressed. This is not high cuisine, it is solid, fresh and delicious sandwich makings in a relaxed atmosphere. Nice people, tidy stores, great food. We had no issues with attitude or speed having our order filled -- maybe they've worked on this. I would go again without hesitation. read more

Amazed it took us 2,000 miles to finally reach a sub shop. Had no idea we'd find one in Wyoming. My turkey and cheese sub with lettuce and mayonnaise was pretty good. I know, its simple and hard to mess up, but that's why I order it. It tasted good and I would definitely go back if I was ever in the neighborhood. My only problem was with the wait! They're the first sub shop I've seen with a drive through and that's their big flaw. I don't think it works since the line was 10+ cars back. This delayed the orders inside a good 20 minutes. It was cheap though and allows for refills on drinks. Plenty of seats inside and spacious for people to not be covered by other patrons. It was a nice place but the wait brings it down! the food wasn't anything special but it was a breath of fresh air just seeing a deli. read more

They have pictures of a number of celebrities that were here, so it must be good. John Wayne, Captain Jack Sparrow, Shrek and Family, Hagrid, and others. The gyro was delicious, the Train Wreck was a bit heavy on the vinaigrette and light on mayo. Fast and friendly service. Good price, fresh bread. read more

If you are used to the friendly, professional service of The Cody Breadboard, you will be unpleasantly surprised. I waited 35 minutes for two sandwiches. Of the four teenage employees, only two were actually working. Enduring the jokes about messing up orders and offhand comments about having terrible service from the employees themselves only added to the shenanigans behind the counter. Thinking that the sandwich would make up for the terrible service was my last mistake at this place. I had to gag down the last few bites of what passed for their version of the Boxcar sandwich. An easy restaurant to avoid on future trips to Buffalo. read more

Great food, fast service. Staying in town for a few days and found this place for lunch. Had Reuben sub one day and Gyro sub another time. Not your normal sub options (they have all the regular options as well) but both were very good. I'm picky about Reuben sandwiches and I'd order this one again. The Gyro was good too but the Tzatziki was a little light on flavor. Still a great sandwich. Subs come in all sizes/lengths too which is a nice option. read more

Pit stop on our way through to Yellowstone. Didn't want a chain so stopped here. And we are more than thrilled that we stumbled upon this place! My husband had a sandwich with ghost pepper cheese. If you like a lil kick, get it. Delicious. I had the chicken salad. It was fresh and oh so yummy (and filling and healthy!). Kids picked their own simple sandwiches out and were asking for more! Sandwiches are great. You can get them made however you want. The bread is delicious. I especially like the potato soup available on Friday. When my mom came to visit, she fell in love with their egg salad sandwiches. We go back pretty frequently. They can get busy especially during the lunch hour. However, they have plenty of staff that keep up. read more

Best subs west of the Juniata River! I grew up in Central PA and we know good subs! The Breadboard has excellent subs at all of their locations. Their bread is awesome and you can see the meat and cheese on the sub! Definitely nothing fancy, and they don't have a huge menu, but you won't find a better sub in the Cowboy State!!! read more

Really chintzy on the meat. Our Cubans were were listed on the menu as seasoned pork, ham, and pickles. We got one really thin slice of pork, ditto the ham, a smear of mustard, and exactly four picks slices spaced out on the hoagie roll. Won't go there again. read more

The Stoker was great! A 12" sandwich, chips, and a drink was over $14.00 so I'd consider it a little pricey, but the food was good.

OK... I have been trying to remember the name of this sandwich shop since July 2006!!!!!! I remembered the train picture but that was it!!!! My husband and I were traveling through from CA to Yellowstone. I was 4 months pregnant and we were on our last camping trip pre-baby. We stopped by this shop on the way there and made a point to do so on the way back as well. I am a sandwich nut and this was by far the BEST SANDWICH I EVER ATE!!!!!!!!!! Yes, the place is small and not decorated in the best manner. Yes, the workers were mostly teens. But, the bread was delicious (I believe they bake it themselves...) and everything on the sandwich was as well!!!!! I tell people about it all the time and now I can't wait to take another road trip and stop off there again with my 5 year old!!!!! Thanks Breadboard for such a YUMMY experience! read more

Great sandwich and soup spot in Buffalo, WY. I do not know how the Subway a few blocks away stays in business. Every sandwich my co-workers and I had was well received. The sandwich bread had great texture, soft inside, nice crust outside. I personally loved the Stoker. The soups were good too, when they were not out because they sold so quickly. The service is always quick and friendly whether you order inside or go through the drive through. Whether you are passing through or working in the area, the Breadboard is a great place for a delicious soup or sub. read more
