In town visiting my bestie so she made reservations for 6 on Saturday night. We were quickly sat at a large circle table near the kitchen. Our waitress greeted us and grabbed us drinks well we waited for the other two. We ordered the espresso martini, mango martini, key lime martini, smoky old fashion (came in a smoke box!) and a few coors lights. Our server read us the specials and we ordered the brussels' for an appetizer. It was a very large portion with peanuts in it. Very good flavor but was not a fan of the nuts. We ordered the coffee steak x2, meatloaf special, mac and cheese, cajun shrimp pasta and lobster ravioli. The Coffee steak was a large potion, perfectly cooked but not the best presentation. Shrimp was yummy in the cajun pasta but it was a bit spicy. The lobster ravioli was definitely salty but a good portion. Let me start by saying the food has a great flavor, and when it ultimately arrived at our table- it was hot. My issue lies with with kitchen, and also the lack of care or concern exhibited by the waiter and hostess. Two tables were seated after our table of 5. One table of 5, then another of 2. Both tables were served before us, even after us ordering before both. The lateness of the evening( arrived 45 mins. Before closing), does not excuse poor expediting and executing. Never was the food tardiness addressed by our waiter, and when the hostess was asked to find out the reason for the two tables getting food before ours- no response, never saw her again. Let's not even get into the unprofessionalism of the kitchen team. En route to our final winter destination, we spent the evening in Sheridan. Love the small towns and this place happened to come up on my search for dinner. The staff was incredible, very friendly, very knowledgeable. The food was good - once you hit the these states, you can definitely tell a difference in beef quality and flavor. Both steaks were excellent and cooked to perfection and the Brussels were incredible. Crispy, salty, everything you want in brussels sprouts! Sheridan WY, population 18,000...Frackleton's isn't just the best restaurant in town, but one of the best restaurants in America. I know that's a bold statement. We didn't have a reservation, but the 4 of us were seated promptly with genuine smiles from all the friendly staff. $5(half size) Spinach salad with egg and bacon in unique dressing. I hate salads in general, I eat them purely for healthy purposes. But this salad is delicious! Don't make the same mistake I did, spend $8 for the full size. $12 Calamari...Sheridan WY is nowhere near the ocean. But for reasons beyond me, this might be the best calamari in America. The unique spice blend adds punch of flavor to an otherwise boring animal. $29 12oz Flat Iron steak. I think this is lie. This steak was huge! I have no read evidence, but I think it was 16oz steak. I ordered it medium, and it was tender, juicy, and meaty with a perfect delectable truffle demi glace. This is a glorious piece of beef, with wonderful gorgonzola mash potatoes and some veg. Its only $16 for a 6oz steak, but its really probably 8oz. The birthday girl's mac n cheese($14) was also surprisingly amazing...rich cheesy happiness...and she got a 6oz side of the flat iron steak. Her free birthday cake slice was also fabulous. The bartenders also know how make a fantastic old fashioned. Not sure when, if ever, I'll ever return to Sheridan, but I'm definitely eating here again if I do. read more

So glad to see these guys reopen! First this is a perfect place for a date, happy hour or a family dinner out. The menu features a great selection of delicious appetizers and entrees. The wait staff is plentiful, attentive and incredibly friendly! Our favorite treat.... The Brussels Sprouts fried with bacon, then tossed in a maple vinaigrette topped with a sinful caramelized onion aioli... holy crap they are delicious! Thick juicy burgers with side of decadent truffle fries are hard to beat but there are some incredibly tempting options that I look forward to eating in the future! According to a certain local expert (my husband), they have the best martinis in town too! We have not tried the entire menu but feel it is a mission that we're willing to take on! read more

They have an open kitchen, so it was fun to watch the meals come out. Everything looked great! The starter menu is awesome! We selected the wedge salad with Gorgonzola-- delightful. Our favorite was the Ahi Poke with wonton crisps. So good! We then picked two more starters - the lollipop lamb chops and the fish and chips. Both cooked perfectly. Frackleton's recently upgraded its facility and I've heard made some changes to the menu and I haven't been there since the changes. However it has for many years been consistently the best and most interesting place to eat in Sheridan. Wyoming seldom has restaurants or even menu items that are not traditional American fare. Frakleton's does also and does an excellent job of those dishes but also has things you would not expect and limited but very good and interesting foreign dishes. Its prices are reasonable and I have never had a meal there I did not enjoy very much. read more

My husband's salmon was cooked perfectly, my chicken good. The star of the show was a new female busser who we watched throughout our visit, working hard, obviously cared a lot to do well. This was a very disappointing experience. I did not have a reservation, but it was just after 4:30 pm. I waited about 5 minutes at the front, and the bartender finally asked if I had been helped. She alerted the hostess and she took me to be seated. I asked for a low top, but she said she had reservations and there were none available. Interestingly, three parties came in after I was seated, did not appear to have reservations, but were seated at low top tables. Strike one. My server was nice, but somewhat inattentive. He passed my table several times without checking in with me. The Cesar salad was very good, but over dressed. The free range chicken was not available, so I ordered the ribeye. I asked what the seasonal vegetable was, and my server said "I think it's asparagus, unless we got broccolini back in". Plate arrived...broccolini. There was a pat of compound butter on my ribeye, but it was not melting...steak was lukewarm, as were the potatoes and broccolini. I had waited a while for the steak, and it was about 5 minutes before the server checked in with me, by asking "everything good here?" as he walked by, without stopping. Strike two. They were not understaffed by any means, as there were 5 servers standing near the bar in front of my table. The final straw...when my server brought me my bill on the handheld POS device, I checked it and it was correct. He ran my credit card, handed me the device, and the choices for gratuity were 20%, 25%, and 30%. To do less than 20%, you had to select "custom tip." STRIKE THREE! I have no problem tipping 20% or more when the service warrants...it did not on this visit. So, to recap, seating experience was bad, the food was adequate but disappointing for this level of restaurant, and the payout experience was ridiculous. Maybe I was there on a bad night? read more

I don't know if I ate at another place, but I'm baffled at the high reviews this got. A high end(?) steakhouse that was anything but. Steaks were bland and overcooked. Pasta was cold. Chicken tasted like it came out boiled in a pot. Whomever curated the Spotify playlist needs an intervention. I'm a WY native, so what part of Sheridan screams a NY White Claw wine bar Spotify play list? I would not go back and encourage anyone to try something else. Frackletons needs to drop the poor imitation on Morton's Steakhouse. Widen the menu or get better at the limited choices they do have. We've been on the road for 6 1/2 weeks, and during this time eaten a lot of "average" food and more often than not received service to match. (In fairness, almost every place we've eaten has had "help wanted" signs so we have been very forgiving when it was clear that many servers are working much larger stations than they normally would.) Today we were fortunate enough to walk into Frackleton's for lunch. They appear to be suffering the same labor shortage affecting many restaurants - we were seated in the bar area, where a petite bartender was responsible for 8 bar patrons and as many tables, but you'd never know it based on the outstanding service we received. Her cocktail making skills were exemplary (something Wyoming is NOT noted for) and the food was near perfect. If you had told me the best Cuban sandwich outside of Florida was served here, I would have been skeptical. But it's true! My wife enjoyed her entree as well. While we only had a few short hours to spend in Sheridan, we are already planning a return trip based in part on visiting this establishment again. read more
