Market special- an hour wait for this dish.

Beautiful area, quaint downtown. It seemed like it would be a good meal, with great service. Let me start by saying the food has a great flavor, and when it ultimately arrived at our table- it was hot. My issue lies with with kitchen, and also the lack of care or concern exhibited by the waiter and hostess. Two tables were seated after our table of 5. One table of 5, then another of 2. Both tables were served before us, even after us ordering before both. The lateness of the evening( arrived 45 mins. Before closing), does not excuse poor expediting and executing. Never was the food tardiness addressed by our waiter, and when the hostess was asked to find out the reason for the two tables getting food before ours- no response, never saw her again. Let's not even get into the unprofessionalism of the kitchen team. In a highly visible position, they proceeded to scratch their hair during food preparation, and eat from whatever they were preparing. No sense of urgency, or speed.

En route to our final winter destination, we spent the evening in Sheridan. Love the small towns and this place happened to come up on my search for dinner. The staff was incredible, very friendly, very knowledgeable. The food was good - once you hit the these states, you can definitely tell a difference in beef quality and flavor. Both steaks were excellent and cooked to perfection and the Brussels were incredible. Crispy, salty, everything you want in brussels sprouts! Definitely would come back and if you look at the history of the building, it's pretty interesting!

Bison Bistro Tender at Frackleton's in downtown Sheridan WY

Frackleton's is very much open, new and improved! We just enjoyed a really nice dinner there tonight. We followed our server Angie's recommendations and her selections were spot on! Started with the truffle fries, then the bison tenderloin entree and the spicy shrimp romesco for our main. Cocktails and dessert were also fantastic. Highly recommend all of the above, including Angie who kept us laughing throughout!

Sheridan WY, population 18,000...Frackleton's isn't just the best restaurant in town, but one of the best restaurants in America. I know that's a bold statement. We didn't have a reservation, but the 4 of us were seated promptly with genuine smiles from all the friendly staff. $5(half size) Spinach salad with egg and bacon in unique dressing. I hate salads in general, I eat them purely for healthy purposes. But this salad is delicious! Don't make the same mistake I did, spend $8 for the full size. $12 Calamari...Sheridan WY is nowhere near the ocean. But for reasons beyond me, this might be the best calamari in America. The unique spice blend adds punch of flavor to an otherwise boring animal. $29 12oz Flat Iron steak. I think this is lie. This steak was huge! I have no read evidence, but I think it was 16oz steak. I ordered it medium, and it was tender, juicy, and meaty with a perfect delectable truffle demi glace. This is a glorious piece of beef, with wonderful gorgonzola mash potatoes and some veg. Its only $16 for a 6oz steak, but its really probably 8oz. The birthday girl's mac n cheese($14) was also surprisingly amazing...rich cheesy happiness...and she got a 6oz side of the flat iron steak. Her free birthday cake slice was also fabulous. The bartenders also know how make a fantastic old fashioned. Not sure when, if ever, I'll ever return to Sheridan, but I'm definitely eating here again if I do.

Walk in here at 6:00 pm on a Tuesday .this place was 100% empty. Our server tried hard but was…read moreclueless. He did not know the menu. To the point he had to ask the kitchen if he could put bacon on a cheeseburger. He lyrically messed up everything. ( small mistakes and some bigger ones)This place price wise is pretty expensive like $$$. So service wise I would give this place a one star. The server did fix all of his mistakes.Plus he was very apologetic. Flavor of everything was the next thing. Stale rolls on my sandwich. The other sandwich When it came out right was good. but not worth the price. I hate to be hard on places. But this I can easily say I do not recommend. On service and food quality.

I had high hopes. Yes, it's in the Holiday Inn, but the menu is ambitious and the Facebook page…read moreseems to indicate that the chef is serious. Boy, were those hopes dashed. The room is dreary and way too brightly lighted. The service was slow almost to the point of being nonexistent. Salads were fine, and my dining companion's "American Kobe" steak was acceptable, but my elk medallions were bizarre. Four pieces of meat, one that was fine and what you would expect an elk medallion cooked medium-rare to look like -- gamey, chewy -- next to three very thin, very dark pieces of what look to be previously frozen and overcooked beef liver. I ordered pasta Bolognese as a side dish because I had never seen it as a side dish before, and what I got was penne topped with what appeared to be canned diced tomatoes "Italian-style" and shredded mozzarella cheese. I ordered a glass of red wine that utterly stumped the waitress, even though (a) it's on the menu and (b) a bottle of the same wine is displayed up front. The drinks didn't come until we reminded the waitress once our entrees showed up. (The wine was fine, for the record -- a Spanish temperanillo). The other side dish, sweet-potato "barrels" -- was a pretty tasty take on tater tots. The waitress asked how the food was, and I explained, as nicely as I could, the "one of these things is not like the other" elk medallions, making it pretty clear they were Not Good. Her response? "So, would you like those boxed up to take home?" Again, I had high hopes, but any signs that this is anything but a pedestrian hotel restaurant (and really maybe not even that good) should be ignored. At that price point, you could eat pretty well at Oliver's or Wyoming's Rib and Chop House or 1893 Grille & Spirits.
