Stayed in Ranchester for the long weekend and visited Buckshot multiple times - was never let down! Here is what we tried: Fried pickles - absolutely delicious! Mushroom Swiss Burger - favorite thing! It was loaded with mushrooms and the patty was homemade with local beef 10/10 Cowboy mimosa - bush light & OJ, super good and refreshing! Biscuits & Gravy Breakfast - found out that the gravy was homemade and got two huge pieces of thick bacon with it! Kelly was an attentive, friendly and funny bartender. Stopped in at The Buckshot for a quick dinner with my family and had a fantastic experience. The service was excellent--friendly and efficient--and our food came out quickly and exactly as ordered. We are traveling east, and stayed at the RV park a block away. The hosts recommended this restaurant highly and it was within easy walking distance. Lots of seating, and lots of TVs, which was fortunate because we wanted to watch the NBA finals. Let me start off by saying the serving team really hustles / this place was hopping on a Sunday night. Huge kudos to our server Kelly. Great information and willing to make this a fun meal experience. They had a wheat beer on tap, served ice cold that was perfect! The menu is HUGE! We opted for the Cowboy egg rolls - two huge, crispy egg rolls filled with ground beef, some veggies and flavorful sauce, served with a plum sauce and a spicy mustard very good. We then split the PB&J burger - we got a raised eyebrow on that one, but my husband loves PB&J burgers. This one had Thai PB and jalapeño jelly. The portions were perfect for me - flavorful without being overwhelming. But the hubs would have liked more. Meat cooked perfectly to our order. Homemade chips were also good - but I was sure eyeballing the tots and onion rings at the next table! The best part? dessert! The bread pudding bites with ice cream was the bomb! And my husband is very picky about his bread pudding. The outside of each bite was crispy, flavorful. Just the right touches of caramel and bourbon sauces, with yummy ice cream. A perfect ending! Never a letdown at the Buckshot saloon for lunch and supper. I've never been there for breakfast as of yet, but will plan on trying breakfast sooner than later. Staff friendly and atmosphere is more of a beer and sports bar type atmosphere. Always have had a good meal here so a definite stop for sure. read more

Stopped in town for a gas fill up on a road trip across country. The restaurant was beside the gas station so we decided to try it out for lunch. Food was fresh and delish, with fun options like Cowboy Nachos and Rocky Mountain Oysters. We ordered the RMO as a joke for for our preteen, they were actually good and my son had a laugh. Good food,good atmosphere, Family friendly , staff was amazing. I had a cowboy nachos and my son had the steak fritters basket. The portion size nachos is definitely something you share, you. An get it with pulled pork or beef. We went in late afternoon just looking for a snack and neither of could finish our food. We will definitely be back and if you get a chance to check it out. I also had an IPA from Luminos Brewery that is located in Sheridan. The beer was really good so I hope to check out the brewery while I'm up here. Dang what an absolute JOKE of a place to eat. I found this place on Yelp and after reading the reviews I was pretty excited to try it out. I was passing through Ranchester on my way to get a car. My first impression from the outside was not good. This place didn't even look open with when pulled in. My boyfriend who is not a drinker looked skeptical but I assured him that there were good reviews on Yelp, so we pressed on. When we walked into the bar, it was a lot more modern and clean inside that expected. There was a total of 2 waitresses, 1 cook, and 4 other patrons sitting at the bar. No one was eating. That should have been my clue. The waitress was very sweet so we pressed on and placed our order. My boyfriend ordered a grilled cheese with tots and I ordered a grilled chicken salad. The grilled cheese and tots were very greasy WAY too much salt. Almost not edible. My salad, was NOTHING like the description. There was no spinach only hard as a rock ends of iceberg lettuce.... like the part that isn't edible where the head of lettuce grew from the ground. The toppings were also equally awful. Shredded cheddar cheese, mushy tomatoes, and black olives out of a can. The blue cheese dressing was running and had a strange flavor to it. I'd consider myself pretty flexible, easy going, and in general NOT picky, but this place was borderline NOT EDIBLE. Don't waste your time stopping here for food. read more

Awesome! Great stop on our way out to Cody. One of the best meals I've had on our trip. I ordered the Club sandwich, it was piled high with ham, turkey, bacon, 2 different cheeses, lettuce, tomato & onion. I could hardly bite into it. Ordered a side of cole slaw that was crunchy & oh so yummy. Everyone in our party was please with our meal. The place was packed and people were coming in left & right. One waitress, who was also the Bartender, she did a fabulous job! You could tell it wasn't her first rodeo. With the exception of untidy bathrooms it was a great stop! We spent the night in Ranchester because of rain. We went to Buckshot Saloon for dinner. We were greeted immediately upon entering. Staff was friendly. We had the Saturday Special, Chicken Parm. Came over pasta and served with salad and garlic toast. Dinner was fabulous !!!! Chicken was moist, sauce very tasty. Huge portions sad we couldn't take a to go box! They offered a free dessert to my husband who is a Vietnam Veteran. He selected the bread pudding which was the bomb. We have passed this place hundreds of times but never stopped but, we will now make a point to stop and enjoy lunch or dinner. read more

I live in Ranchester and never really stop to eat at the Buckshot. The wife and I stopped on a whim to have a beer and were pleasantly surprised with the service and menu. I had the beer tots and they turned out to be one of the best foods I have ever tasted. They were like poutine made with tater tots. Wife had the steak sandwich and raved about it. The sandwich was large and came with a choice of side. I will be back often for the beer tots and to try other menu items. read more

I don't know why this place wasn't on Yelp. It is the only place in Ranchester and nicer than the places down the road. Looks rough on the outside. Much nicer inside. A varied menu with something for all. I enjoyed the elk and bison brats. Young bar tender easily handed the bar and restaurant. Next to the gas station. read more

Wyoming's best kept secret! Hidden gem! You gotta try the calf fries

Took my mom to dinner and arrived at 6pm. It was not busy except for the bar. We were welcomed, drinks and meals were ordered. It took an hour before we got our 2 bacon cheeseburgers that were so overdone they were tough to chew and the bacon was almost raw. We were told the "chef" was new that's why the meal was taking so long. Four families who came in after us were served and FINISHED by the time we got ours. Poor service and mediocre food for a steep price. We will not return. read more
