Luminous Brewhouse is a brewery located in Sheridan, Wyoming. I have to say the small brewery community here impressed me quite a bit. There are a handful of breweries and all of them were quite good! For Luminous we had their Cream Ale known as the Pickleback Cream Ale. It was so good! I gave it a very high score on Untappd. Flavors to be on the lookout for with this highly enjoyable beer are salty, vinegar and sour which are fairly unusual things to find in a Cream Ale. I think it's due to living up to it's name because pickles are more than likely involved here. As unusual as that sounds the balance and the bouquet of flavor is perfect which made a unusual and very likeable Cream Ale! We were very impressed! read more

Small portions service is slow.I went in and got a drink and I waited for a refill (just a soda) to get a refill. when i asked for a refill and still didn't get it she forgot ended up leaving , didn't even get my food , I didn't pay either , but what's the difference. read more

Cool place! They do have flights. Try the pickle and chili beer!! So good. A little disappointed they were out of a couple of their summer beers, but the others were good. Nice patio to sit on too! read more

We stopped by for a beer while visiting and were so happy we did! If they hadn't been closing, we'd probably have stayed longer. Barkeep was super friendly and accommodating - told us all about their beers and helped us figure out what we wanted with some tasters. They've got a great variety of beers including some very unique ones (at least to use) which we enjoyed. Food looked pretty good, although we were too late to place an order. We'll definitely be back (earlier) next time to enjoy both the food and drinks! read more

In our travels we've been to around 400 breweries and of those there are three that we said we'd "go back there just for the beer!" Barley Browns in Baker City Oregon. Kauai beer in Lihue and now Luminous Brewhouse in Sheridan Wyoming. My goodness what a flight. I lean more towards the ipa group and we've had a hard time finding good ones in Wyoming. Until today. Two great ipas. One featuring mosaic hops and the other a fruity pineapple that wasn't sweet but had great notes of pineapple. The poblano chili beer is the best chili beer I've ever had. They had a beer called off-key lime pie that starts out with a mild tart lime taste and finishes with a sweet graham crackery taste. Coffee stout was fantastic. So many coffee stouts have strong alcohol finishes and this was as smooth and nice as it gets. Every single beer was tasty and easy drinking. We were greeted by friendly knowledgeable bartender and the service was friendly all night. The crowd went from 15 or 20 to about 200 as some local artists played music. No food but the food truck was serving a fantastic pizza. Not everyone who brews beer knows what they're doing but this guy is absolutely dialed. Best time we've had at a brewery in a long time. read more

As an avid homebrewer I love craft beer and I know something about it. Sheridan, WY is blessed with two good craft breweries. Luminous is the smaller but not the lessor of the two. They have just recently moved into a beautiful new location (504 Broadway) so some of the older reviews below that mention the tap room shared with a restaurant are no longer accurate. Likewise, the pictures of food have more to do with the restaurant where they are no longer located then with the brewery. The new location is family friendly. One big open room with an outer ring that allows kids and an inner ring and bar for adults only. They seem to have some sort of activity or entertainment going on every evening. A fun place! Their everyday line-up of brews is completely different from the other brewery and I LIKE it. To my taste, it an edgier, perhaps less refined product that is unique. When you drink a Luminous beer you are getting something that is completely different from what other breweries are offering. Not just another "also-ran". You won't be disappointed by their Red Grade Amber, their brown or their IPA or their Stout. I personally am not a big fan of flavored beers but some people swear by the Java and the Chili beer. Don't forget to bring your empty growler because you are going to want to leave with it full! read more

What a great find! We're passing thru for a few days and stopped by here for dinner and it was amazing!! The Steak Troubador was cooked perfectly with a hard char on the outside and medium rare on the inside, well over an inch thick! The rice and asparagus accompaniment perfectly complemented my meal. That tells me that this chef put some thought into this. It wasn't haphazardly out together. For the $22 it was a phenomenal value! Apple crisp for dessert was the best I've ever tasted. We've been here 3 days in a row! Junior, Erin, and Jenn are attentive, funny, prompt, and just amazing servers!! We will return next time we're here for sure! P.S. I am from Massachusetts and my family was just passing through Sheridan for one night. We listened to great live music outside and were helped by really friendly staff at the brewhouse who let us taste many things so we could order up right. We also played pool and overall had a really fantastic night. Highly recommend. Also, you could tell there were locals and tourists there-pretty cool. read more

We were visiting Sheridan and had to stop at the three breweries in town. Luminous was our favorite. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by two smiling and happy bartenders (unlike the other brewery we had just come from). On top of that they had a wide selection of great beers,which made for a great flight. Their chile ale and milk stout were incredible. The beer here was good but the ambience left a bit to be desired: I expected a smaller tap room with some knowledge on the beers. The taproom is apparently housed within Wyoming Cattle & Co, a larger, kind of average sports bar that had friendly but kind of slow and scattered service. Apparently the taproom wasn't staffed at this mid-afternoon hour; we were directed into the larger bar. My Bighorn Hefe was served too cold, as was my companion's X-X IPA, but both tasted a little better as they warmed up (which happened swiftly as the big bay doors were open to a pretty hot day). Food was alright. Not notable but it filled our bellies. read more

This is a terrific place to stop by if you're in Sheridan. They have several great beers, plenty of comfortable seating, a few games if you want to compete, and very friendly/helpful staff. The variety of beers is great - there's something for everyone, from a saison to a super hoppy IIPA. They've got popcorn, and it seems that the food trucks stop by regularly. Staying at the Best Western in Sheridan WY and walked over to the Luminous Brewhouse for a few tasters. Had the Red, IIPA, Coffee, and Saison. Wow, I don't typically like IPA's but their IIPA was very good! All 4 I had were worthy of a full pour. So if you are here for the night make sure you stop into this Brewery for some great beers. read more

Great selection of beer. I prefer their styles to Black Tooth as their regular core beers cover all traditional styles and their seasonals are consistently high quality. The beer tends to foam more than usual coming out of the tap but they always repour. It just wastes beer and server time. read more

Hands down: THE BEST BEER. I am not the most experienced consumer, neither the least. I have never had so many wonderful tastes in one setting, and they truly go the extra mile with each one. From ACTUAL ginger beer (made with a dry-hop method and fresh ginger at 3 points of the brewing process) to a fantastic black coffee beer (add their house-made cream soda if you want it sweetened: called morning grog) and the most inexplicably awesome IPAs ever imagined. Their environment was amazingly relaxed, but you would see all walks of life. Not much in the TV department but certainly make up for it with friendly staff and enough cards and board games to make anyone have a good time without staring at a screen. read more
