    chicken pesto

Sheridan WY, population now 20,000ish...and the Cowboy Cafe served the best chicken pesto sandwich I've ever had...Gawd Bless America! $15 Burrata Chicken Sandwich: Grilled Chicken Breast, Burrata in Wyoming?, Grilled Tomatoes, Pesto on Brioche Bun. The burrata melts in your mouth, blending perfectly with the chicken and lovely fresh pesto sauce...years later I still love the pesto sauce here! $14 "Chicken Melt" gets you the best chicken pesto sandwich in America. Pesto, Bleu Cheese, Walnuts on Grilled Sourdough...the pesto is fresh(I think) and fragrant, the melted blue cheese blends in perfectly with the crushed walnuts. Just $1 gets you a satisfying portion of fries. Not sure if I'll ever be back in Sheridan again for work...but I'll definitely get one of these pesto sandwiches again if I am.

We are driving through town and wanted to get some lunch. It was an odd time in the afternoon like 230 so it wasn't too crowded inside. We were quickly seated. I ordered a Cubano and my husband ordered turkey sandwich. The food took a little longer than I expected, but it could also been the time of the day Cubano was a little different than but I've had it other places however it was good. Service was friendly and the interior is quite interesting. The decor is tied into a cowboy thing and it's pretty darn interesting.

Food is very good. Atmos is casual. Service - the servers talk to each other too much but is ok. Beers - you look at the cans on the wall. Desserts - you look at the hands written options on the board below the beer cans. Ordered Chicken Fried Steak with Swiss mushroom gravy. Steak is commercial but poked very well. Large, crispy, a bit more breading than meat but ok. Gravy with Swiss cheese and fresh sautéed mushrooms was excellent. Steamed veggies consisted of cauliflower, broccoli, corn. Was good. Also have a choice of potato-French fries, mashed, tater tots. Heard someone request hash browns because they have that at breakfast there. Server said she'd ask the cook. Hubby had BBQ ribs and fries - he said it was good. They also have homemade pies and cheesecake. E had the pumpkin maple crunch pie. It was very good. Overall great place to try.

This is a very unassuming spot right on the main strip of Main Street. Our waitress was super! The energy she had and cheerful attitude made everything better. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a very good flavor. The pork on the other hand, while crisp from the flash frying and fall off the bone tender just needed more seasoning - for me. The gravy could/should have been hotter as well. We weren't able to experience the pies as we were there to late and most all were sold out but the folks around us were licking their pie plates.

We liked how they gave you a whole pitcher of water to serve yourself at your table. The old downtown feel of the place was nice. We were not impressed with it overall. Very hard to get waited on and it was very hot in there. We got the Avocado Burger and Bubba Combo with Sweet Potatoes. Nothing spectacular especially for 18.50 for a burger and fries. Tourists seems to be the bulk of your business during Rodeo time so please accommodate and be prepared. We want to support locals but we share our feedback with each other as well.

    Green chili!

The food was very tasty. Reasonably priced, especially compared to other restaurants in the area. The pie is well worth it!

I had the bison burger and my wife had the tenderloin. Our waiter Liam did a great job of correcting a couple minor issues and I was comped a beer. Our waiter really saved our night. Our waitress greeted us and grabbed us drinks well we waited for the other two. We ordered the espresso martini, mango martini, key lime martini, smoky old fashion (came in a smoke box!) and a few coors lights. Our server read us the specials and we ordered the brussels' for an appetizer. It was a very large portion with peanuts in it. Very good flavor but was not a fan of the nuts. We ordered the coffee steak x2, meatloaf special, mac and cheese, cajun shrimp pasta and lobster ravioli. The Coffee steak was a large potion, perfectly cooked but not the best presentation. Shrimp was yummy in the cajun pasta but it was a bit spicy. The lobster ravioli was definitely salty but a good portion. Local recommended the mac and cheese telling us it would change our life's and it was definitely worth the hype! 10/10 recommend.

He was friendly and engaging and when they didn't have the beer I'd asked for, was apologetic and made other recommendations. He kept our water carafe full (I drink a lot of water during dinner.) and was very friendly without being intrusive. Originally from Turkey, we had something in common, as my mother's family were from that area. Fun conversation! MENU: The menu was THE MOST FUN menu I've seen on this road trip I'm on! The variety should make everyone happy. I choose a lobster roll with sweet potato tots as the side and was shocked with how delicious it all was! My husband ordered the Pokè bowl and it blew us away. Seasoned, fresh tasting...a nice break from the heavy meals we've been eating. The food came out of the kitchen with lightning speed. I've seen reviews below complaining about poor service and slow food. I experienced NONE of that. I would absolutely recommend this place and can't wait to return.
