Absolute 10. Exceeded all expectations. The food, the service and the local atmosphere was so wonderful. I could not recommend this restaurant enough. read more

The Spur is an absolute gem. It's a waning piece of old west Americana that you can really get your teeth into. The menu is hearty, generous and delicious. If you want one of their monster cinnamon rolls, you better get there early. They only bake 12 a day. The atmosphere is friendly and void of foo foo pretentiousness. The wait staff is the best and they make you feel at home. If you're looking for a great breakfast with an escape back in time, just go! read more

This is exactly the kind of home-style diner everyone hopes to find. It's not fancy, but that's part of the charm. The food is consistently good, service is fast, and the portions make sure you definitely won't leave hungry. They do breakfast and lunch really well, and it's become our go-to spot for breakfast. Everything is reliable, satisfying, and exactly what you want from a classic diner. Recently they added a weekend night drive-through window, which is a great idea. It's perfect if you're coming home after a night out and want something hot and filling without having to go inside. If you're looking for a solid, no-frills place with dependable food and generous portions, this diner is a great choice. read more

Amazing staff owner is very nice and greet you when she has time just all around good place make it feel like the olden days

I come into Sheridan every couple years for work, and each time I always come to the Silver Spur at least once for what is Chun P's BEST Chicken Fried Steak in America. $14 Chicken Fried Steak is about 2000 calories worth of food, a great value, and a great meal! The menu says its 6oz, but it sure looks and feels more like 8-10oz. The Chicken Fried Steak is big, thick, and juicy, with a very thick crispy breading that stays crunchy, even while doused in the rich and creamy sausage loaded gravy(you can ask for it on the side). The hashbrowns are potato perfection, very, very, very, crispy and buttery! And you get two eggs of your style, and a slice of toast. This is a lot of America all on one plate...it's an epic, fatty, sodium, and calorie loaded meal! Can't quite give it 5 Stars do due to so so ambience, and service can be a sweet warm smile or a waitress who just had a bad fight with her boyfriend/husband the night before...but Chicken Fried Steak is everything! read more

We stopped in for lunch. I had the best Patty Melt ever. He had the Mushroom Burger that was also to die for. I highly recommend.

Great service and food on a busy Saturday morning. Yummy chicken fried steak and eggs!

Update: took a friend here who could not believe the quality of the Chicken Fried Steak, Eggs and Hash Browns. It truly checks all the boxes and all at a reasonable price. These things along with the fantastic service and down home feeling keep this Yelper coming back! read more

Love the new menu!! Everything consistently delicious for many years. The difficulty is making a choice among so many great dishes AND the staff are like family to us! read more

Always a pleasure to visit, great food friendly staff and cafe ambiance. Check out the cinnamon rolls!!!

Always AMAZING food, and great service. But there are some downsides. 1- The building is pretty run down. Could definitely use a face lift. 2- Cleanliness is sub par. Especially the kitchen. When sitting at the bar, you have a direct like of sight into the kitchen, and it's not a good view. read more

One negative, I LIVE TOO FAR AWAY FROM this place! LOL! I'm a breakfast person and currently on a huge road trip coming from California and out to see a big section of our country for the first time. Sorry didn't take a picture of my food, but decided to ordered the chicken fried steak: it was heavenly! The steak itself is tender and not hard. This is freshly made, and I don't mean just battered fresh. Usually it's a beef patty that comes frozen and then cooked up, but this isn't and it's thick, not a thin patty with a bunch of breading. The gravy was perfect too - everything it should be. I realized after I ate as much as I could that I never added Tabasco sauce, and it was because the gravy wasn't bland, heck even the patty itself had lots of flavor. The rest of the breakfast was just as it should be too. Don't be deterred by the older exterior as inside in pure gold. Atmosphere: I opted to sit at the counter, but if you walk past those there are some tables in the back. I spoke up and talked to people sitting next to me and everyone was as nice as could be, and the waitress that served me was super nice! If my travels ever take me to or within a 100 miles of Sheridan, I'll head to the Silver Spur Cafe as it's worth a detour. This time I was staying just down the street. Parking is tricky, but just drive around the place and then come in through the back alley to the parking lot. read more

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Run, don't walk to Silver Spur - it's freaking DELICIOUS!! We spent a night in Sheridan and stopped for breakfast before getting back on the road. As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted by the women behind the counter who were super friendly. Just what you'd expect from old timey, down home, countertop seating space (like you'd see in the movies). We ordered the breakfast sandwich on a biscuit and a cinnamon roll and OMG! So, good! The breakfast sandwich was hearty and delicious. The biscuit was buttery and fluffy, scrambled eggs folded into an omelette cooked perfectly, a big juicy sausage patty with just a hint of spice and two slices of American cheese - YUMMMM! Plus it came with crispy hashbrowns right off the flat top - so good! I also got a side of sausage gravy which was perfectly creamy and so tasty - because when you walk into a place like this, why not?! Now for the cinnamon roll. Oh boy! First of all it's the size of your head but most of all it's crispy on the outside with all of the caramelized cinnamon and sugar and ooey gooey soft and fluffy on the inside. If you wanna treat yourself then getting this baby is the way to do it. Overall this place is amazing. If you're looking for down home goodness, like what you see in a western movie, Silver Spur is the place for you! read more

One of my all time favorites. Love the food and the people. I enjoy sitting up front and watching the hustle bustle of the kitchen. Old school, and awesome! read more

I have been eating here since I was a child!! The food has always been good as well as the service! I frequent this café as often as I can as it is a hometown staple. Some reviews talk about the atmosphere and their interactions with the cook or the staff in a negative way which I find terribly unfortunate. If your feelings need massaged and/or need special treatment, you may need to go somewhere else. And I assume those of you who talk down on this historic Sheridan landmark were probably getting the attitude you were giving!! This is my opinion that nobody asked for, but to be honest there is a sign and you had been warned! lol picture below!! read more

Our hotel sent us here for the "best and biggest breakfast burrito in the world". We laughed and gave it a shot but wow, that burrito was something else. You can choose between a full burrito or half burrito, so obviously we both had to get the full size. The menu doesn't tell you this, but you get to pick and choose what they put in it. She asked if we wanted sausage, bacon, or both. Then she asked if we wanted hash browns or breakfast potatoes, which also went inside the burrito. They also offer salsa, sour cream, and hot sauce as well. The burrito was delicious and I don't think I ate anything else the rest of the day. The staff was very friendly and it felt like we were a local. This place is a tiny hole in the wall with typical western decor, but give them a shot. Also, during covid, don't expect any masks. Everyone starred at us when we walked in with masks on.. read more

What a rare find! Had breakfast both yesterday & today and all the reviews are true....Excellent Breakfast. This restaurant obviously has been around a long time and if its outstanding food, superior service, and unique atmosphere this is it. Down to earth old school as I sat around the kitchen counter watching these amazing cooks, waitresses, and help treat every customer like they were a daily regular and fun environment. I'm not alone either as I met a couple yesterday and they came back too for both days they were visiting Sheridan, WY. Day 1: Heart Attack (Name of Meal) scrambled eggs, biscuit & sausage gravy, (4) slices of bacon, and 1/3 plate of crispy hash browns + coffee .... $14 Day 2: Old Timers - scrambled eggs, (3) bacon slices,, toast, 1/3 plate hash browns + coffee.....$9.50 Great Food + Great Prices + Great Service......ENJOY, read more

Wonderful old school diner with amazing food. Huge portions, you're going to eat twice. Staff is fast and efficient, food comes out quickly and is piping hot. Don't let the dated exterior fool you. Inside it's clean, cozy, and smells like good food. Lots of locals, you know you are in the right place then! Try the 3 egg omelette- so good, cooked perfectly and stuffed with fillings. read more

They don't need another 5 star review but will offer it anyway. Fantastic breakfast, unreal portions. They are efficient but also very busy the food isn't coming out in 10 minutes during peak hours. Place looks like a poster child for diners drive inn and dives. Surprised it's never been featured. read more

Great pricing, friendly and polite wait staff. Food is great I suggest the sausage links for you meat choice on breakfast

Popped in after. My morning hike to grab breakfast. I was able to snag the last seat at the counter. The waitress was really friendly and offered great suggestions for breakfast. I opted for the locally sourced chicken fried steak. It was a huge portion smothered in sausage gravy and served two eggs, hash browns, and rye toast. The breakfast burrito and biscuits and gravy that my neighbors were eating looked awesome. Great atmosphere, awesome food, and friendly service. read more

Got a recommendation to eat here from one of the locals and was not disappointed. Had a fun atmosphere and good food makes me want to visit again. This small building can be easily overlooked but once inside it can feel a little cramped due to a-lot of people in a small room that was filled with decor everywhere I looked. The service was a tad slow but she also had a ton of other people to serve as well. The food was incredible. I had a chicken fried steak that was smothered in a delicious thick white gravy accompanied by fresh hash-browns, eggs and toast. This huge portion was definitely worth the cost. I had a great meal and a great time. This was much better than any chain restaurant we could have gone to. read more

After Longmire Days were over, we had our last breakfast at the Main Street Diner in Buffalo, where we'd had great and inexpensive meals for several years. Sheridan was our next stop, and we asked the proprietor for a diner recommendation. And he said "The Silver Spur." We ate breakfast here both days we were in town, and every thing about the Silver Spur was outstanding, from the food to the service to the authentic divey atmosphere. Please note that fans of national or regional chains may not like this place, as it's not the bland and boring "white bread experience" you fancy. But if you love greasy spoon diner cuisine, this place will delight you in every possible way. read more

This is the place to go for a ligit breakfast! You will have to wait near the bar but the patrons at the bar are friendly and gave us a menu to look at while we wait. The place is exactly what you would imagine a "cafe" in the west should look like. I would have to mention that it seems to attract the nicest customers! JOHN WAYNE POSTERS! They only make 12 cinnamon rolls a day, so try your luck to be customer # 1-12 and order it heated. I am really old and I can honestly say that it is THE BEST Cinnamon roll I have ever had! I am from Texas so I ordered biscuits and gravy. I felt like I was back in the Hill Country! They had a side called "Cowboy potatoes" ... Trust me: order some. You're going to be happy! You KNOW a cafe is LIGIT when they have red AND green Tobascco bottles ON each table! read more

Our server was amazing and I loved the burrito. It was absolutely massive! Loved that I could do a mix of sausage and bacon. This is an item to share (or get the half portion!). My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak, which tasted great and was a super generous portion as well. We went on a Wednesday morning and the Silver Spur was packed! We waited a few minutes for a table, but it was well with it. The ambiance was quaint and it was truly one of those 'not to be missed' places. read more

I live in California so getting a "normal" breakfast at a "normal" price without having to make a reservation was a real joy. No distracting music, no avocado, no pretense. Ambience is charming (for what it is). A few elderly, a few families having a non-rushed meal of classic breakfast fare. Space was tight, lighting was low and service was warm. The food is honest and expertly prepared. Had 3 entrees between the two of us and left satiated and in a better emotional place. Would love to go again. read more

Food is excellent. I had old timers breakfast, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, hashbrowns & toast. I added 1 pc of french toast. Everything cooked to perfection and the french toast was the perfect blend of savory/sweet. Erica was a very busy, and efficient waitress. My sis had the veggie omelet with hasbrowns & toast which was also delicious.
