A stop on our tour of the region for some authentic western experience. Ambiance is a working ranch…read morewith many animals and a lot of history. We had a meal chicken and beef with corn and beans all fine. We heard a talk from the owner regarding the Johnson County war for control of the area, ranchers v farmers. Then some of us rode horses and others had a session with a horse whisperer. It was a very nice visit. Mark & Nancy.

First, despite checking in late Thursday afternoon, there were not enough tables or tablecloths available to set up the reception area. After asking multiple times and speaking with several staff members, we were told that they would personally set up the remaining tables and provide the missing tablecloths. However, when we returned the next morning (the day of the wedding), no additional tables had been set up, and the tablecloths were still unavailable. When we spoke with the main staff member about the issue, we were met with rudeness and profanity. Despite written communication between the venue and the bride confirming the guest count, the venue had the wrong number of attendees recorded, which affected the amount of food that had been prepared. Once the issue was resolved by reviewing the written correspondence and confirming that the mistake was on the venue's end--not the bride's--no apology was offered for the error, the inconvenience, or the unprofessional interaction. On top of that, the reception space was not clean upon arrival. While a small amount of dust is understandable for a rustic, rural venue, the floors had not been swept and the windows were dirty. I will say that the food was very good, and our room accommodations were comfortable and clean. Unfortunately, those positives did not outweigh the lack of organization, professionalism, and customer service we experienced.

A friend of mine would call this place "spendy". Hell, everything's costly now. The high points…read moreare: First and foremost, the food was good. I had chicken fried steak. Second, the service was good. Friendly people, attentive and polite. It was a weeknight and there was not a big crowd. I prefer that, so another high point. Plenty of room, and not crowded in with other diners. Finally, location is handy to the hotel I was in, and to the interstate if you needed a meal along your route. I would return here. Thank you BTS.

The first thing they asked me was "can you show us her license ?" I toled them that was an illegal question and handed them an ADA card that explains abut Service animals (I buy them in packs of 100!) and explain to them that there are only two questions they can legally ask, which are "Is this a service dog?"and "what service does the animal provide?". When we sat down for our meal, we discovered that their menu has been greatly reduced since our last visit there a few years ago And our favorite menu item (bison burger) was no longer available. The only bison on the menu was bison steak at over twice the price! When the server arrived (the only pleasant experience of this visit), we placed our orde, a Western burger for me and a mushroom burger for my wife. I asked if the had a Military discount. They said yes. When the burgers arrived, they were dry, like they had been sitting under a heat lamp! When we were done, I took Khaleesi outside so she could "take care of business" and my wife stayed inside to pay for the meal. When asked for the Military discount, they hemmed and hawed, then final called the manager over to approve it. When she paid, she left a 10% tip for the server ( I wanted to make sure she got some kind of tip. After all, it wasn't her fault!) the manager told my wife that a 15% was what was usually expected!!!! She handed the manager the 10% tip aseed that the manager personally hand the server the tip which he agreed to. Bozeman Trail Steakhouse *used* to be our favorite meal stop when traveling to visit my family in South Dakota. After this visit, we will no longer visit them again!!!
