A stop on our tour of the region for some authentic western experience. Ambiance is a working ranch with many animals and a lot of history. We had a meal chicken and beef with corn and beans all fine. We heard a talk from the owner regarding the Johnson County war for control of the area, ranchers v farmers. I would not recommend this venue based on my experience being part of a wedding that took place here recently. First, despite checking in late Thursday afternoon, there were not enough tables or tablecloths available to set up the reception area. After asking multiple times and speaking with several staff members, we were told that they would personally set up the remaining tables and provide the missing tablecloths. However, when we returned the next morning (the day of the wedding), no additional tables had been set up, and the tablecloths were still unavailable. When we spoke with the main staff member about the issue, we were met with rudeness and profanity. Despite written communication between the venue and the bride confirming the guest count, the venue had the wrong number of attendees recorded, which affected the amount of food that had been prepared. Once the issue was resolved by reviewing the written correspondence and confirming that the mistake was on the venue's end--not the bride's--no apology was offered for the error, the inconvenience, or the unprofessional interaction. On top of that, the reception space was not clean upon arrival. While a small amount of dust is understandable for a rustic, rural venue, the floors had not been swept and the windows were dirty. I will say that the food was very good, and our room accommodations were comfortable and clean. This past Thursday when we arrived in Buffalo, Wy; we had Tea with Louanne Stevens "Ruby" from Longmire. They presented a fantastic lite appetizers consisting of fresh fruit and a variety of juices, ice tea and coffee. The service was amazing, with info about the food, a smile and seconds. The ambiance is old west cowboy diner. The people at the TA Ranch are so friendly and welcoming. They are a real working Ranch as well as a Dude Ranch. read more

Food was amazing taste great prices were great I had the Waygu burger it was amazing with scalloped potatoes, but I actually wanted the spare ribs but they were out, my husband that's a vegetarian came so I could try the place out but the only thing they had for him was the Jackfruit burger that they were also sold out of, you would think if you were on the food network on guy's summer road trip you would prepare for crowds are reservation was 6:30. The noise level was loud when we got there as a guy was playing music and after he was done he was talking on the phone in speaker phone for the whole restaurant to hear otherwise it was a cool old ranch house with good food. I had given it a 2 star right after visit but during the night and the next 2 days I had food poisoning from the food so they lost a star if I could have given them 0 I would have bad experience. read more

Oh, my, this place has amazing food that is harvested fresh and cooked to perfection. Love the simple beauty of the restaurant and that you can catch a glimpse of your meal being cooked in the kitchen. We had the best poutine and steak here. I hope they keep the poutine on the menu. Very disappointed. We thought that we would have an amazing meal at the ranch. My husband got the ribeye ($52) and ordered it medium rare. It came out medium to well done. He just couldn't eat it. The waitress had the steak remade. The second one came out medium at best. Needless to say my husband only at half of it. Sad. read more

My husband and I were fortunate to find this location after much research and planning. The ranch and staff are amazing! They created a lifetime of memories in 2 days. We stayed in the milk barn and were greeted every morning with their beautiful collection of horses grazing mere feet from our patio. They are informative and very knowledgeable; teaching history, appreciation for the land& the ranching business. There are activities for all ages and food that is to die for. You will not find a better steak in Wyoming. Our only regret is that we had to leave after 2 days and we have already started planning a full week there ASAP. read more

Two couples traveling through Wyoming stopped for a night at the TA Ranch. How lucky we were. Kirsten and her family were so gracious, friendly, helpful and willing to share what life is like in Wyoming with east coasters! Wow, we learned alot and thoroughly enjoyed the horse whisperer experience, communing with the horses, playing with the free roaming goats, the beautiful vistas and the home made, very good meals (dinner and breakfast). We would definitely recommend this place to couples and families. You won't find a better experience. Amazing food! If you're passing through Buffalo (or live there!) you have to visit TA. Their farm to table food was some of the very best during our trip all around the west. The steak was just perfect, and the shells and cheese was insane (there was brisket involved). The beer and wine options were plentiful and tasty too. I've covered the food, and it just gets better from here. The folks who run the ranch are just the friendliest. They really care about serving you food that you are going to love (and they are happy to share cooking tips!). Lastly, we drove out just before sunset and the views were beautiful. The Ranch couldn't be lovelier or more welcoming. It does help if you give them a call to let them know you're coming out. read more

This place was a major disappointment. We stayed in the Della Gammon room. The house that the room was in was falling apart and in need of MAJOR renovation. Flies and moths galore, even in the drawers. There was a nail sticking out on the side of the house that was waiting for a person to get injured. It was 95 degrees and NO air conditioning. There was a poor excuse for a fan. The bed was uncomfortable as were the pillows. The place desperately needed landscaping. The only redeeming factor was a good bison filet for $42. The breakfasts were terrible. You could not order ala carte. The highlight of the trip was Bighorn and the Bradford Brinton Museum. The town of Sheridan was a blast. Don't miss King Saddlery and their museum. While at the Brinton Museum see the leather shop and James Jackson who does works of art with leather tooling. A true master. We have stayed at at least 5 guest ranches in Montana and Wyoming and this place is at the bottom of the list. At least the owners were nice! read more

This place was really great! It was a terribly rainy day so we couldn't do the horseback riding or wagon rids but they accommodated us so nicely and did a horse whispering talk and showed how the team horses get harnessed up. They served a great hot lunch and lovely dinner and even had a fiddler come to entertain us. The resident dog Molly will greet you and Star the Percheron horse is a sweetheart! They did a great job entertaining us despite the weather and the full bar, great service and yummy dinner helped too!! read more

I was so impressed with TA Guest Ranch! The food was outstanding, and all cooked from scratch. The owner, Kirsten, came out and made conversation after we'd been served, and she was remarkably friendly. We really enjoyed learning about the ranch's history. Best of all, once she realized we were okay with it, Kirsten brought in her two dogs to keep us company while we chatted. I chose this restaurant because it was open on Monday made reservations on Sunday. They text you back with your confirmation. Service was great, we stumped Ashley with a couple of questions we had about the menu. She didnt have the answers but she new where to get them. She brought the chef to the table, and he had all the answers. We had the bread,fries,lasagna,lamb shank and the burger.( party of 3) Wow on all choices. The lamb was fall off the bone delicious. Dessert was maple bacon creme brule. Awesome! The only drawback I can see for this new business, is the short 13 minute drive south of town. But if you appreciate the night sky without light pollution like I do you will not mind the ride. All I can say is bring your appetite and be open minded on your taste buds the flavors used here are usually not found in these parts the Chef is from Ohio.
