Fun afternoon at the ranch! We were here through a group tour and spent a great afternoon on the…read moreranch and then had dinner in the cook house. Horseback riding was fun for this newbie. Easy to get on the horse and plenty of instruction. Plenty of real cowgals accompanied us on our short, fun ride. Then off for a wagon ride and history of the ranch. Time with a horse whisperer who was working a couple of horses was also really interesting. Dinner was ok although beer selection was really good! I had the brisket and my husband had the chicken, both weee just OK. Homemade lemon cookie and ice cream was the star of dinner. Folks who run the ranch were really, really nice. Fun stop for us New Englanders!

They provided us with a big map of Wyoming as soon as we told them we were headed to Yellowstone the next day. They only accept cash or check so make sure you bring either. We paid $21 total for one night tent with warm shower included. The bathrooms are nice and kept clean. There are 8 total showers in the communal bathrooms with 2 shower curtains for extra privacy. The water heated up fast so no complaints there. They also have a Laundromat. The only 'downside' (if you could call it that) is that it got fairly windy during our stay with winds up to 30mph. Since it is fairly close to the mountains it was expected and the owner told us to pitch our tent by their wooden fence for more comfort from the winds. Also, we were greeted by 4 small deer at around 10pm so if you don't like that then maybe you can look for a campsite within the city of Buffalo since this campground is about 5 minutes drive down highway 16. A tip is if you leave early (5am) and head towards Yellowstone you can catch some roaming elk along the way. I would definitely recommend this campground. From the friendly owners to the quiet atmosphere and great bathrooms it really doesn't get much better than this if you are looking for a quick place to stay on your way to Yellowstone. Just make sure you check in before 9pm since that's when the office closes and they don't allow self check-in.

Twice I have visited this restaurant and it has been lacking. The owner is unfriendly. We ordered Easter dinner here and the ham was hard as a rock. The server hid the hard crusty pieces under some other over cooked ham. We complained and the owner was rude about it. The potato's were dark dark brown and her excuse was that they were smoked!!! Nothing homemade here... Most of the appetizers are frozen and fried. I ordered the taco salad and there was hardly any meat on it. The burgers seem to be the only option. Honestly wouldn't waste my time here again. It's too bad cause it's a nice location and close to home. Doesn't deserve a star at all.....

There is no longer a pool and it looks totally rundown on the outside. We were trying to overlook the difference and when we got to our room, it looked OK but then we started unpacking and getting into things. The floor was laminate, which is good for the pets, but it was disgustingly dirty, and turned our feet black. We couldn't take a shower because of the filth as seen in the pictures that I am posting. It was full of hair the nonslip Matt was black from grime. Just scary! The AC control was missing the back so the batteries kept falling out, there were lightbulbs missing in the fixtures, things were splattered on the walls, dirt smudges everywhere. Even the light fixture between the beds had crumbs and dirt all over it. The curtains were so sheer than anybody walking by can look straight into your room at night so you had no privacy. We had to hang up one of our dog blankets. The only thing I can really say is the bed was pretty comfortable and I didn't see any bedbugs and it did have a huge TV that had YouTube and such so that we could watch some shows since I really couldn't sleep.
