I would give this motel a 0 if possible. I have out of town people staying here, and this place is a DUMP. The grass has not been mowed, it smells, and no one is at the front desk. My friend was TRAPPED in her room this morning. No one answered at the desk, later saying someone had "turned off the phone." There was no way to open the widow to get out. Someone finally called maintenance and she was let out. Over 40 mins trapped! On top of that, they refused to give her a refund for that night. Avoid it!!! read more

The staff was friendly, warm, and welcoming. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. Although the breakfast bar was limited the hotel price was an excellent value. We paired this with breakfast at the Southside in Buffalo (also excellent) which made for an outstanding trip. read more

Arrive just after 11 pm, lobby is closed and just a card with a number at the front desk. We have to be on the road by 6 am! if they think I am paying for this debacle they are wrong! I wouldn't know how the hotel was because when we arrived at 10:30pm the doors were locked! There was a number on the door to call if we wanted to check in. I called the number many times. Instead of waiting for a call back (it was 7 degrees) we went to the Holiday Inn Express directly behind this hotel. About 20 minutes later I received a call back. To her credit she was very apologetic saying she was having problems with her phone. I was told that I would be credited for that night and NOT charged for the next night. I actually was charged for both nights. I have received a call from the front desk person saying she was working on getting our fees refunded. She told me that the hotel was recently bought (someone/company in India) and they have too much on their plates and cannot manage things properly. I'm 5'8" and the bed was too short. The rooms were small and the rooms smelled funky. The breakfast was not good. Would not recommend.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! My friend was locked in her room for 40 minutes. The front desk did not answer the phone because they said it was disconnected. She could not get out the window because it was locked. This is a safety hazard. They refused to refund her money. HORRIBLE!!!!! read more

WIFI didn't work during our stay on July 27, 2021. Checked in expecting to use WIFI. Asked front desk if there was an issue and was told try again. Went to dinner and tried again and then asked again and confirmed the WIFI didn't work and they knew it. At check out I asked for adjustment to bill and was told manager would call me. No call. Room was ok however I am not certain sheets were washed. Front door was left open from 6 pm -10:30pm. I suspect it was never closed as it was open when I left at 6:30 am. We reserved a double queen room for three nights last weekend for Longmire Days' & paid a Total of $383.00- (usual price would be maybe $70/night). Getting ripped off is one thing, being robbed is another: Tiny Room, beds too small to be Queen, one set of towels per person per day (!), no pool, no outside space unless the parking lot is counted. The reheated fried eggs & mystery meat patties... terrible. No Uber or Lyft in the area as advertised. Staff tried to put lipstick on the pig and were helplessly pleasant. I travel a lot, this was the worst hotel anywhere, ever. Longmire Days was Great Fun but any hotel other than the Inn. Holiday Inn Express right next door for the same price.. now we know! read more

A poorly designed website lead me to book a room on the day I was making booking, not the day I wanted. When the mistake was discovered I called the front desk to inform them of my mistake. The clerk assured me he would contact the General Manager and also reserve our room for the correct night. This happened to be the day I intended on checking in. Neither happened. Upon arrival, the new clerk had no information on us. She called the GM, that person did not know of the situation. The response turned out to be "Sorry, Nothing I can do for them." Cold. No sympathy, empathy or any attempt to help to rectify the situation. No explanation. We would have appreciated "I'm sorry, but it is out of my hands. " One would think that the GM could at least make some kind of offer to at least partially compensate guests. Especially when the parking lot was empty. Nope. Nothing. We left, didn't want a room here, less the cash lost on the wrong date being booked. Can't recommend this place, staff is unable to help a situation, especially when the parking lot was empty. We got stuck in Buffalo due to a highway closure so booked a room here. Now, the room was only $65 so I wasn't expecting a palace or anything. However, I do expect empty trashcans (they were full) and towels in the bathroom (there were none). I had to go to the lobby twice to rectify these situations. The first time, the desk clerk, the manager/owner (I'm guessing) and some other worker just stared/glared at me for asking them to empty the trashcans (that I brought out to the lobby) and the second time the desk clerk wasn't happy because I think I interrupted her smoke break to ask for towels. Neither time was there any "I'm sorry" - it was clear I was bothering them. We weren't confident anything had been cleaned as there were assorted hairs on pillows and in the bathroom. Luckily - because we are extra - my husband and I bring bedding with us on our road trips, which we immediately put down on the bed. Can't speak to breakfast options as we left as soon as possible in the morning (no desk clerk to be found). Walls are thin. Would not stay again. read more

We stayed here one night on our trip to Montana. Found a great rate online. Clean, modern rooms. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, free wifi, cable tv, comfy bed in the room. Big bath with granite counter tops and large corner tub with a seat in it. Hot and cold breakfast choices in the morning. Hot was eggs, sausage and pancakes. Same person was running the dining area and front desk. She did a great job of keeping up and was friendly. It says in the website they are pet friendly,but call ahead if you have pets. Convenient walk across the street for a nice dinner at the steakhouse. I was very satisfied with the Buffalo Inn and would stay again. read more

Warning: Do not stay here We pulled in late on a long trip back home. We had found Buffalo Inn online prior to arriving and were attracted to it by the low price and good reviews. When we arrived we were told a higher price than was quoted online and I asked her if she could honor the online price . She told me no, that I would have to book online. I did and it it charged me $80.25 (this included taxes). It stated "total amount due at check in" $80.25. When I came back in, she took my credit card and ID and had me sign an electronic pad saying we did not have pets and that we would not smoke. She then assigned me a room and handed me a receipt for $84.75. I questioned the extra $4.50 and she said that the website gets the tax wrong, and had been for the entire year and 8 months she had been working here, and that this was the actual price with tax. She said it was a third party website and that this happens sometimes but not all the time. The website was titled Buffalo Inn and seemed like a direct website. They took all of my info including my credit card number. When I told her I had not authorized that amount and that she could not charge my credit card that amount, she told me, there was nothing she could do. I asked to refund the total amount and we would leave and she said she could not do that. She told me I could speak with the manager the next morning. I asked for the managers name and she told me Angie. She was unable to give me her last name and would not look it up. She told me the manager had only worked there for two weeks (the next morning the manager herself said she had been there for over a year). Although she kept calm, she was clearly defensive and irritated. We ended up staying because it was late and we did not want to end up paying for another hotel and being charged twice. The room was so smelly. It smelled like dirty old tennis shoes. We tried to open the windows, they were bolted shut, we tried to turn on the air-conditioning, it did not work. The entire unit did not turn on. The refrigerator was louder than a diesel engine (which I ended up appreciating because it helped to drown out the voices and TV from the next room that we could hear through the paper thin walls). The beds were nothing special, the pillows tiny and the "white organic cotton sheets" that they suggest on thier website were dingy and old looking. The room was clean as suggested on some of the reviews. In the am, we discovered that the fan in the bathroom did not work either so this room had no ventilation at all. The water smelled like sewer although that might be a Buffalo Wyoming thing versus an Inn specific thing but none the less, it was gross. When I spoke with the manager in the morning, she had been informed of the situation and although she listened to me, when the conversation led to removing the extra charge, she got defensive and said she would not do that. I told her that she could not charge my account for an amount I did not authorize, she walked away from me and when I asked her the owners name she told me she would not give me that information. However, when I returned to the breakfast room she was having a loud conversation with someone(she later said it was the owner) in the breakfast room with other guests present about my situation. I heard her from the hallway outside the breakfast room and walked in and asked again for the owners contact information. She said she would not give that to me but that he was aware of the situation. I suggested that I would be looking the information up online and she said "go right ahead" as she walked away from me to the back room. I realized I would not get anywhere with her so we left. When I checked with the better business bureau, I discovered many complaints from patrons that had been mischarged or over charged (some days after they had checked out) and never compensated. This seems to be a pattern with this establishment and I would warn anyone considering staying here to be aware of this scam and know it has not been worth the few dollars saved. I like to support small. local business but I made a mistake here. I hope this helps you not make the same one I made! read more

This hotel was perfect for a quick nights sleep and long shower, excellent value. Passed thru this town and it was late. Didn't want to spend a lot so chose this hotel. It's very clean inside and the staff were great in accommodating my request for a room away from the check-in counter which was noisey. The room was clean and up to date. I'd equate the interior and bed quality to that of a very well kept Motel 6 or Quality Inn; however, it wasn't worth an extra $75 to stay at the Holiday Inn Express next door just for a better mattress. I didn't give this hotel 5 stars because breakfast could have been better. The dining area needed attention. The bread for wheat toast was empty as was the bagel compartment. The sausage is horrible, non-edible. Besides that, everything else was great. read more

Hotel itself is ok, the issue is how they don't tell you there's an online price and an 'in person' price. Even with a 'discount' in person, it's near $90. Online, same room is $63 plus tax. If I could give them a 0 rating I would. They charged my card the full amount 6 months before my 5-night stay after booking with Expedia on a free cancellation/pay on arrival contract. They changed their policy a month later and will not honor the original contract even when their website still states you can cancel up to 24 hours before arrival. No complaints here. We just stayed for one night. The beds were doubles but felt small to me. But they were fine. Everything was clean. Tiny rooms. The downstairs breakfast was okay. They have direct tv with HBO and Cinemax and the people are nice. The room has a mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The bathroom was clean and there really weren't any problems. :) they give a discount for AAA members. It was suppose to be $93 and we paid $85 so that's nice. If you're not trying to spend much and don't need a large room, this is your place. It's safe, clean,surrounded by restaurants and a gas station... id go again if I was in the neighborhood read more

We found the Buffalo Inn by accident, as we had planned on staying at the Holiday Inn Express next door but decided against it due to their unwillingness to match the price we found on Kayak.com. Discovered this place by accident. We had a tire pop out in the highway and needed lodging til tire shop opened the next day. We were very happy with this place. Upon entering the lobby, the place smelled clean and fresh. The woman at the counter was extremely friendly and helpful. She recommended a place close by for dinner which was very good. Price of the room was very reasonable. The room was very clean with microwave, fridge, nice TV with all the channels. So, we stayed here at the last minute as we had hoped to get to Sundance but our kids were totally done being in the car. I got 2 queen bed room for $82 from Expedia. Apprently the rooms are normally $109. I am glad we didn't pay $109 because it's not worth that much. The young lady at the desk was lovely, but she's the only part of our stay that was. The rooms are tiny! They're clean, but tiny. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast had a sad selection and wasn't the cleanest. read more

Got to motel and paid and it ended up 20 dollars more than price we reserved. When my wife questioned front desk about it they pretty much called her a liar. Bath tub drained VERY slowly so at end of shower I was standing in 6 inches of dirty water. Vending machine was out of order so I had to go upstairs and thankfully it worked. This is about C.M.J.'s negative review. I was standing close by this morning and herd the majority of the conversation. She had provoked the manager beyond what most people would have listened to. As far as the water temperature on the washing machine I personally checked it, and there was no issue with it the temperature was what you would expect on the warm setting; warm. She had several complaints but would absolutely not listen to reason the manager did his level best to help her but she just wanted to complain. Overpriced! Used to be a Motel 6. Upgrades: bed and bedding. Not worth the price difference. Made a reservation months in advance for a king room (bec of reviews). Website = subpar: not able to note traveling with pets (They make you call - I did call months after making the reservation online but still 2+ months in advance of our arrival date. There was no indication I had ever called, told them I was traveling with two dogs and therefore preferred a first floor room). When I arrived, no King rooms left on the first floor. Given a first floor double room next to motel laundry. Woken up between 6-7 am by staff going in and out. Used guest laundry machine on warm setting - cold water only. Low security: building side doors no card needed. Breakfast is typical motel-cheap carby junk food (fruit loops, packets of sweetened oatmeal, pancakes you make yourself, donuts, small bagels, weak coffee, etc.). And when I complained about these issues, the manager lost it. I've traveled extensively in the States and Europe and have never had a more terrible customer service experience, especially with a manager. He accused me of lying about these complaints. So I said, let's go check it out, let's see if you can hear the laundry room door open and close from my room (next door). Let's see if the warm water setting works on the guest laundry washer in question (he said, "I'm not putting money in it to find out"). He was incapable of hearing any negative feedback, seriously threatened by being challenged, and resorted to name-calling (unbelievably - outrageously- he used the "C-word" and "N-word"). Horrible experience with him! Additionally, If you care about politics and are offended by the tide of misogyny, xenophobia, and racism that has accompanied this administration, don't spend your money here! The manager loves 45 and Fox News is on in the common room where breakfast is served. There are other choices in Buffalo - go elsewhere! read more

We arrived and the man greeted my mom letting her know he remembered her calling to make the reservation. He then offered to help us carry our luggage in as it was raining. We got settled and the room was great and the whole establishment had been updated. There was hot chocolate and coffee available and the same gentleman offered my daughter whipped cream in her hot chocolate. At breakfast they have an automatic pancake maker that was neat. A lady was helpful to show us where everything was and get more of anything needed right on the spot. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in or around Buffalo, Wy!! read more
