    Hair also

Was getting ready for bed when I noticed some hair on the pillows and top sheet. I pulled the covers back and noticed stains and hair. It continued to get worse the more I revealed. I called the front desk who did assist in getting me a different room. As a diamond member with hilton this is in the top 3 of cringest rooms I've been given. This is not what my expectation is for any hotel chain let alone one with this reputation.

Outback, a great spot to drink coffee and take it all in.

The hotel is beautifully preserved with so much authentic character, history, and charm everywhere you look. We loved exploring the historic saloon, antique decor, creaky wooden floors, and all the incredible stories connected to the hotel. It was amazing knowing legends like Buffalo Bill Cody, Calamity Jane, Teddy Roosevelt, Butch Cassidy, and the Sundance Kid all spent time here. You can truly feel the history throughout the building. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and passionate about the hotel's history, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was cozy, unique, and unlike any modern hotel experience. We also really enjoyed walking around downtown Buffalo since the hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of town. If you love history, road trips, Western culture, or unique travel experiences, this place is unforgettable. The Historic Occidental Hotel is more than just a hotel -- it's a true Wyoming experience and one of the coolest historic places we've ever visited. Highly recommend! We had to get our own menu. Three more employees came by and finally one waited on us. We ordered wings and it took forever to get them. The waitress flung them in front of us and said "here's your wings". No plates, no napkins. There were probably not even 1 pound of wings in the basket. The menu said 2 pounds. No one ever came to see how our food was or if we needed anything else, like another drink. We had to ask to get napkins and that seemed to be a chore for her. After finishing our food, the bartender walked by three times looking at the empty basket but never asking if we needed anything or taking the basket away. We finally got his attention, which wasn't easy, to get our ticket.

Quality Inn - No security chain on this door, it's been busted off and not replaced.

I found a deal rate for the same night and booked while on the road without reading the reviews. Good things: - excellent parking lighting. Can park right outside my room to keep an eye on the car. - lots of shelves in the prefab shower. - The shower is actually pretty okay. - The bed is actually comfortable. That's all. I assume they keep this place as shitty and gross as they can get away with because the clientele is a one and done base; people will always come to Yellowstone and they will always stay here because it's dirt cheap, so the owner and staff don't have to worry about pleasing anyone because they never have to think about a repeat customer. The front door is more like an old gas station door than a hotel entrance. It's two glass doors, almost completely blacked out with window tint. It doesn't look like you've come to the Quality Inn, it looks like you've come to the strip club... but a really seedy one on the wrong street. It's in the same building as a bar and a Mexican restaurant. The covered parking for check in is an afterthought and barely had space for my Tacoma. The inside did not get better. I work in oil and gas and have stayed in some run down hotels as well as small town motels and hostels throughout the west and the world. I don't have much of an ick factor but this one has me on high alert tonight - I brought in my knife to put on my bedside table and put a chair against the door. I have only ever done that once. The exterior doors (again, think gas station entry door) were propped open with a rock into the night. My room has no chain because someone has busted it out and the hotel didn't replace it (but they patched the hole as though it didn't need to be there). The key card door machinery is obviously recent and the doors do not secure well. The latch on mine is loose in the receiving hole. One room's door even has a gap at the top where the door doesn't fill the frame, it's been cut for some reason (this is a fire hazard for that room and may be out of code). There's no sound insulation in the building. There are motorcycles in the parking lot that someone decided to start up at 10pm and they're sitting there doing the Harley bathtub drain thunking which echoes in the windows. There are also semis in the parking lot and inevitably we'll hear that too, though I am very grateful to be on the non-interstate side of the building. There are two "security cameras" in the hallway that are plugged in just underneath, so nefarious actors could easily unplug or just destroy them. I seriously doubt they are real; there are cables hanging down that have nothing connected to them. Cute, I guess. I very seriously doubt the housekeeping here. My towels were heaped in a (folded) pile on the shelf and two had dirty smudges on them. I had 4 lotions, 2 conditioner, no shampoo and no soap. Again, I did something else I never do - checked for bed bugs. The mattress is dark tan which means very poor opportunity to find them. I wore my flip flops the entire time I wasn't in bed. I'm a crunchy girlie who skirts in a floorless tent and usually do yoga in hotels; definitely not here. The chairs are both upholstered and old and nasty. I wish I'd brought my own pillow. I might burn my sleep clothes (not actually but I'll not put them anywhere that will give me a bed bug headache). So.... Stay at your own risk. That is all.

FALSELY ACCUSED AND CHARGED FOR DAMAGE - BROKEN MICROWAVE WHICH I DIDN'T USE…read more I am going to share what happened to me. For work, driving a shuttle van back from Big Sky, MT, to Sedalia, CO, I stayed at the Quality Inn in Sheridan, Wyoming, on Monday, September 28, 2026. I am a Diamond Member with 36 stays this year. I have never had a complaint for damaging hotel property - ever. Getting to Sheridan, I stopped at Q-Doba to pick up my dinner to-go, arriving at my hotel after 8:00 pm (I cannot remember the exact time). After checking in, I got the rest of my things from the van and sat down in my room to eat. My debit card posting is attached to my Google Maps review as proof. When I checked my Choice Hotel credit card today, I discovered an additional $200 charge. I called the hotel and spoke with the manager TRINITY, who I believe checked me in and out during my stay. She informed me that I had broken the microwave in my room. That is not possible. I never used the microwave. She informed me that the housekeeping staff documents the room each day and that when they went to clean my room, they discovered that the microwave was damaged. I also asked to speak to the owner and was informed that it would not be possible. The $200 charge is false. I cannot damage something I never used or touched. This is a ploy to charge me for something I cannot defend in person. Interestingly, I never received a call from the hotel to inform me that they had found a damaged microwave. I don't know their motive, but I do know that I did not in any way damage the microwave or anything else in the room. This is stealing by the hotel. I have filed a complaint with Choice Hotels. As a Choice Privileges member since the early 2000's with probably hundreds of stays, I have never had a damage complaint or charge. I don't damage rooms or anything in them. I have also filed a dispute with Wells Fargo Bank. Please keep this in mind if you are considering staying there. There are other ways to steal from people. If you do choose to stay there, I strongly advise you to take a complete set of pictures of the room and ask to see the housekeeper notes from the day before.
