We were staying at the Occidental so decided to give the Virginian a go for dinner. So glad we did! Outstanding. The space and atmosphere scream historic hotel, which is fun - especially if you are staying at the Occidental. We ordered a bottle of wine and the flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce and the truffle fries with asparagus. So good! We loved the food and the atmosphere, staff couldn't have been nicer. All around wonderful and highly recommended.

It was my first time having elk so i was skeptical but when in Wyoming! The meat itself was very tender, better than beef in my opinion. No gamey taste & was paired with a fruity reduction which was fabulous. Highly recommend this restaurant for a nice night out or special occasion!!

We were hoping to find something within walking distance of the museum but our first choice was closed on Wednesdays. The ambiance is charming, old west. I expect that this is the most expensive restaurant in Buffalo,WY. Their menu includes entrees from $25 to $55. Being on Eastern time still, we entered at 5:00pm and were the first patrons. We were waited on promptly and served bread and salad. It is now 6:00pm and we are still waiting for our entrees.

It's definitely the definition of "Fine Dining". The staff is excellent and the waitresses are the sweetest! I highly recommend getting the Elk Tenderloin with a side of truffle fries or truffle Mac n cheese. You will not be disappointed! They Elk will leave you wanting more the next day! So stop in and have a delicious bite to eat. They are open select days and hours so be sure to call ahead to check times.

Don't try rushing in for a meal at 9:02. 9:00 is the limit for getting fed. Pretty poor, but I'll give them a try another time.

All good. A little price for small town. BYOW is a nice touch, $20 corkage. Limited seating. Reserve the window seating.

My experience has been hit and miss here. The menus has some good items but the portions don't always match the price.

The menu is quite extensive and there is definitely something for everyone. I ordered a few appetizers and each of us got our own entrees. I've never tried a bison steak before so I went with that, and I personally wasn't a fan. Not because of the quality but just the nature of the meat is quite tough. But my friend ordered the prime, and it was huge! So he shared some of it with me and it was definitely the better of the two meets in my opinion. All the potato dishes were pretty good and to be honest the other entrees were just about average. Food was all slightly under seasoned and some items were definitely overcooked. But portions were generous and we even needed to leave for you to go boxes. Prices were also very reasonable. But what really makes this place special is the staff. Our server Tracy what's absolutely fantastic. She was kind, attentive and given that she's been working at Bozeman for a while... She was really knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations. She even brought us a few tasters the local brewed beer selections, which I'd like to go back and try some more.

It was a Saturday night too so I knew I had to hurry, and I walked in the front door by 8:05. They were super nice and told me they could still serve me and my waitress was the nicest and sat there talking to me. The drink she made was delish, and can we talk about the bowl of ranch they brought me with the mushrooms? The perfect amount, I was able to put it on my loaded mashed potatoes as well then. I got the bison steak with Montreal seasoning and let me tell ya, I love bison now. I got pie and huckleberry ice cream to go too and I just finished the pie now, both were incredible. If you're ever in or around Buffalo, stop in here, some of the best food and service you're ever going to find.

The noise level was loud when we got there as a guy was playing music and after he was done he was talking on the phone in speaker phone for the whole restaurant to hear otherwise it was a cool old ranch house with good food. There are 2 port-a-potties by the tent sites, 4 port-a-potties outside the brewery and 2 bathroom stalls inside the brewery. Located outside is a dishwashing and charging station. We bought two beers for $7.50/pint. We didn't try the food here, but was told it's just basic "last ditch" frozen pizza and pretzels. The brewery hosts events on certain nights and have food trucks some times. We just happened to stay here when nothing was going on. We would've liked this spot more if the tent spots were further apart. People in the tent spot next to us came in around midnight and woke us up for almost an hour with their loud whispering while unpacking and barking dog which woke up our dogs. The tent spots were close enough that we can hear neighbors move around in their tents. Unfortunately, that whole thing put a damper on our experience.
