We had stayed in the hotel across the street and decided to try this place in the morning before leaving town. I really don't understand the negative reviews. This is an awesome American diner that has maintained Americana. Small and close seating that encourages visiting with your neighbors, strangers and tourists. The food was great. I had one of the specials. Ham and Blueberry pancakes.....way more than I could eat. My wife had the other special which was a bacon and cheese omelet. Again, no fancy menu selections just good quality diner food, prepared as ordered, and served quickly. The entire staff (of 3) was very friendly, from the server to the busser, to the cook....they all actually came and visited with us and asked how everything was. I did see one lady come in, sit for a couple minutes and then leave. Presumably because she her order was taken right away....but the cafe was full and we are still in this crazy COVID world where finding people willing to work is a challenge...I hope she has better luck....maybe she can get an egg McMuffin quicker. read more

A cozy little diner nestled on main. Stopped by for breakfast on our way through town. Delicious French toast and insanely large omelet. Cute teddy bear pancake for little ones. They have is good food, allot of it, and good prices. They are a little three person operation serving breakfast and lunch. All the food is cooked to order hot and fresh right in front of you. They have a full menu but for a real bargain choose from the specials on the board. The specials offer the best prices for huge meals and free coffee!! This morning I had the French Toast Special. It was delicious. I ate four pieces of texas toast dipped in a light egg batter, four pieces of crispy bacon, and coffee. So much food I almost couldn't eat all of it. Tom's main street diner is a must stop for those of you passing through the beautiful town of Buffalo! 5 years ago I stopped here on a road trip and it was totally worth it. Tom in fact was there making the best breakfast ever. Tom has since retired, and the atmosphere is nothing like what Tom had created, but it is an authentic small town diner, with great breakfast! Decided to stop for breakfast on our way through town on a trip. We walked in and a member of our party of three, held the door open for the rest of us to enter. A party of three, the door wasn't open for more than 45 seconds. A huge fat guy in an apron, I'm assuming he was the owner although he wasn't doing anything but sitting on his ass talking to a bunch of cronies (while the restaurant was almost at capacity, mind you) screamed, I mean SCREAMED, at us to close the door. I can't speak to how the food is because we turned and walked out. If this is what they mean by "colorful locals" they can have them. The guy was an asshole, plain and simple. I don't recommend eating here unless you want a greasy, lazy, rude fat guy near your food. Too bad one star is the minimum. read more

We loved this place! Went it with a wiggly one year old and the chef made her a teddy bear pancake! All the food was delicious. I just had the 2 eggs with toast and bacon and my BF had the French Toast- delish! Perfect spot for a quick breakfast. We were eyeing the pie too but we'll have to come back for that! read more

We are traveling and stopped in for breakfast based on Yelp reviews. I hope my visit was a fluke. The waitress was very nice as she took our order at the counter. I asked if I could please have my hashbrowns well done, cooked crispy. We are right by the griddle and the cook (maybe owner?) turns and says "no. You get it how you get it. I am not holding up other people's breakfast for you". Waitress looked embarrassed, but fine. I am looking at the griddle 8 feet away. Potatoes already cooking, plenty of space, steak weights abundantly available. Plenty of room on the griddle where a weight, potatoes and oil would fit, but we are looking to move on so whatever. Maybe he just switched to decaf. I ordered the pork chop breakfast which don't hit the mostly empty grill for at least 4 or 5 minutes that could be prime potato crisping time. Pork chops were good, potatoes should have been crisper, over medium eggs were done just right but included a hair cooked into one. They were quickly replaced with hairless eggs cooked just right. My son's food was fine. Through all of this there were no orders waiting and plenty of room to make well done happen. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive, made even more so by the contrast. While I am waiting for my new eggs from Chef Surley I look around and notice at least one racist caricature picture on the wall. The area is like 97%white so maybe they would not consider it racist or they don't care. The area has cable tv and internet, so there's really no excuse. I tried to grab a pic but there were people seated under it and I am sure they will have a reason why it's harmless . I will be in the area a lot and will never return. read more

Terrible attitude from the waitress - called to check breakfast times - told till10:45 showed up at 10:30 - as we opened door waitress very rudely yelled - no breakfast and lunch does not start for 20 minutes. Sat outside on a bench to find anothe spot -while searching my phone - 3 tourists from Britian went in the door and came out very quickly after getting the same treatment. If that is attitude of staff - I question if cooks attitude would be any better. read more

I've been here twice. First time was fine and the food was good. Second time we went there we sat at the counter within 6 feet of the grill. The waitress made came with 2 foot of us, front and center quietly waiting our turn, yet not once did any staff member acknowledge we were even there. Not even a "hi." Pasted through in 2005 and since long to eat there daily. Their burger was the best I ever had! Also their Potato Bacon Leek soup, back then-the best ever!
