Cool vibe, lots of seating and food choices. It seems to be ID after 6? They put out corn toss then too. But damn there's a lot of pockets where there's no shade and it's very hot. This place is really neat! Really fun place to grab a drink after dinner or go and enjoy a beer and Butter Chicken from the Indian place inside. I like the selection of food they currently have set up in there: Vietnamese pho, Indian food, Italian/pizza, and a burrito place (though the burrito place may have just closed). The bars can get packed and some of the bartenders don't move very quickly. Definitely attracts the college kid crowd so if that isn't your thing it's probably best to keep walking down to Ermano's. read more

I have mixed-feelings about this place. It's an awesome concept. I love the set-up and the murals. I also love that it's dog friendly. What I didn't like was the service I received at one of the bars towards the back of the yard. I get it, it was damn busy. It was a Saturday but you're a bartender, what do you expect? When it was my turn to order, I was ready to order four drinks for myself and my girlfriends and after I ordered the first drink, the bartender walked off before I could finish my order. When he returned, I told him I wanted three more drinks which set him into orbit. He rolled his eyes at me and said "is there anything else you want to order before I walk off, and I need to see everyone's ID's?!" I could see he was cussing under his breath as he walked off, super annoyed. Listen, I get the carding, but this guy was the moron who didn't let me finish my drink order to begin with and then proceeded to walk off. He was a complete A-hole and ruined my first time there. It wasn't just me apparently though, he was being rude to the other people ordering next to me. I wasn't surprised by it. I can't say I'd leave a horrible review for the whole place because there are several other restaurants and bars at Boxyard and I can't base my experience at just one bar that's there and that one idiot of a bartender that's mad he's a bartender, LOL. I'd be back but I'd probably avoid that bar in general if I saw that bartender again. Next time I will definitely try some food. They have a great selection from BBQ, Indian, Mexican and pizza. I really love this concept. With a large bar and several food venues within the boxyard it's the perfect spot for late night eats with friends. No one has to agree on any one food you have your pick of the litter. I really dig the Vietnamese place but there's also Indian and BBQ and I think a few others to choose from. The lighting is terrific and the times I have been there has been a DJ or live music. read more

I have been to Boxyard now 10+ times. I've said this once and I'll say it again, Tucson really needed a large, spacious patio with food and good beer options. Sure, there are plenty of restaurants and bars with patios, but the thing I like about Boxyard is that you can grab a drink and a table with friends, and have your choice of sometimes 4 food trucks and enjoy a snack/meal/drink together. You kind of feel like you're going to a different place depending on what you want to eat. I love the vibes and the set-up of this space; it's a mixture of high top tables, sofas, and traditional tables either on the ground level or they have 2 balcony spaces if you feel like people or sunset watching. The bar is stocked with all great beer, I mean, that's a must. They also have a smaller bar closer to the entrance with liquor, too. It's dog & kid friendly, last time I was there the synthetic turf was hosting a yoga class! I've eaten at all the food trucks -- the Vietnamese one where the "smoking section" is is my fave. The ambiance is chill and comfortable, they have heat lamps in the winter and misters in the summer, making for a super bearable afternoon. We love hanging out at the Boxyard. The bartenders are friendly and make good drinks. The Vietnamese spot and Mexican food /bacon wrapped burritos spots are the only ones I've tried so far and they did not disappoint!!! Very very tasty. They usually have live music in the evenings with awesome DJ's. It reminds me of the container park from vegas but a smaller version. Very cool concept to have in Tucson. read more

This review is in relation to Nhu Lan Vietnamese restaurant as opposed to the other vendors present within the confines of the patio. I have composed the two following emails below, which were ignored in conjunction with two phone calls only to be hung on when I inquired as to why I was charged an extra dollar for each meal. Although the sum was quite trivial, I desired to be a long term customer and didn't want to continue to be overcharged via future charges. If you over charge a customer a dollar per visit and have 100 customers per day that equates to $3,000 a month in extra revenue. I always approach others with civility, decorum, and respect; the fact that I was hung up on over a small sum only reflects their intrinsic lack of character. You lost a customer for thievery is thievery; the sum is inconsequential. This intrinsic lack of respect/morality astounds me. To Whom It May Concern: The impetus of the construction of this e-mail is to address my visit at your restaurant on 5/29/21. Upon my visit to your establishment, I had purchased two combination platters; the Sesame Chicken Combination Platter in conjunction with the Orange Chicken Combination Platter. Both dinners were quoted as being $10.37, however, in spite of that fact I see a charge of $11.37 for each meal on my bank statement. Later in that afternoon, I spoke to a man at the restaurant via telephone as opposed to the woman who completed the order that stated the reason why the extra charge was given related to an increase in the price of rice, however, I stated there was no nexus between the two issues as the most recent price was conveyed to me that day. He then went on to state the extra dollar charge for each meal related to the fact that I utilized a debit card; to which I had asked if the extra dollar charge was merely an authorization charge that would fall off upon posting. He said that it would, however, the $11.37 charge for both meals remains. Please know, I would like to remain your customer. Although an extra dollar for each meal may seem quite trivial, that would compound quite easily with the progression of time; in addition, people should merely pay what is owed, nothing more. I thank you for taking the time to address my concerns. To Whom It May Concern: I have to tried to call to have this issue rectified by placing an additional call in conjunction with my email only for you to hang up on me. My bank will be notified and an investigation will ensue. read more

Not happy with the amount of staff. Went there at 2 on a beautiful Saturday. The place was packed it's the gem show time of year and the rodeo. Two bartenders. I waited 2 minutes in like. Decided to wait at the bar in a seat. Wasn't acknowledged. At this point the bar line was so long I would hve been back at the end. Got "orange chicken" from a place in here during an evening. It was little chicken nugget balls in some liquidy orange sauce. Those nugget balls tasted so bland, like they were microwaved. Waste of like $11, and actually the worst orange chicken I've ever had. read more

Everything you need in one place. Great concept and design. This place is so lively. Let's start with decor. Bright shipping containers converted into bright little shops along with benches and tables on the green turf. So colorful!! It contains a full bar with nice selection of beer on tap. Friendly bartenders. This place also includes a Mexican restaurant. I tried the pork and the steak tacos and they were really good. Also be sure to try out the chipotle sauce. Two more food places are supposed to be opening soon. Overall, this great place to hang out with friends in a relaxed, chilled outside environment. It has everything you need music, food and drinks. Really cool spot for a weekend afternoon! I was recently here after an early Saturday of sporting events, and really dug the overall vibe. You can find a drink there whatever your taste may be (they had cans of White Claw at the time I was there, and three different flavors!). They've got a nice selection of taps, I went with a local brew - Barrio Porter and it was delightful for a winter afternoon in Arizona. No food is served as of yet, but the plan is to serve food in the future. I'm looking forward to checking this spot out in the spring time, and curious how they'll accommodate for the hot as heck summer months. Friendly staff behind the bar. The Boxyard was totally neat. We were looking for a cool place to grab a beer after a training and this grabbed our attention. Primarily because it is literally a plot of land that has a whole bunch of brightly colored shipping crates that have been turned into restaurants and bars. Once inside your in your own little land. There is a good variety of food places to grab a bite from and a bar at the end. The price was decent but a little expensive. We had already eaten dinner so we did not grab a drink. They had some pretty cool murals on the wall that were 3D. This was not only a cool concept but a cool little place to hang out in. It was really hipster though, ha. read more

Boxyard is pretty cool, I guess. I went to check it out over the weekend and it was packed! Granted, it was a Saturday night but I guess if all you offer so far is booze, then definitely expect a lot of people to be there on the first weekend it opens. Anyways, the layout of the place is pretty unique, it's like being outdoors inside. They have a rooftop/balcony facing 4th ave and there's another slightly smaller in the back. The ground floor was covered with fake grass and there's plenty iof seating both downstairs and upstairs. Since they just opened, they're not serving food yet. When I asked for a drink menu, the bartender said they don't have one yet but I can order "anything" and they'll probably have it...it's a cool concept of a "bar" but personally, I can't wait til they actually have a set menu both for food and drinks, cause right now, it's a little too soon to rave about it not having really "experienced" what they're trying to offer. It's also a little difficult what kind of crowd they're targeting/hoping to be there as there were just a hodge podge of folks and not that dictates the experience but it's a bar(--kinda nice if it is LGBT-friendly.) The location is spot on, and the layout of the whole place is cool, it's just a matter of whether they'll take it to the next level so that it'd be a nice place to hang out at. Okay this is the perfect place to wind down after a long week. Great ambience and decor. They have variety of food places to choose from with good price points. I would definitely return here. The alcohol selection is really good and it's line was always busy. This is great to come and meet people as well. The price pints are between 6-10 for food and the alcohol is about $5-9. A lot of interesting niches like a balcony table, etc. Can't wait to find more seating. The only thing I would recommend is in the summer to bring a fan. read more

They have amazing bacon wrapped burritos, white are surprisingly light(no clinging grease to weigh down the burrito). They are perfectly fried. They also have shoe string French fries and other assorted treats. It's a little "hub" of up cycled storage containers. They have a cafe, Vietnamese, Indian, and the Hispanic mix of bacon wrapped burritos. There is a full service bar as well. Pet friendly, equipped for cold and hot weather. It's a nice nook close to the bus depot and court buildings for a quick bite or a couple of happy hours. read more

Super delightful place to enjoy an easy breezy lunch and a cocktail. I steered away from the Indian place because of the bugs in the window (inside) and instead opted for a Sonoran Gordon from Percheron. It was probably the best Sonoran Dog I've very had. The hotdog itself was delicious (which hot dogs are usually pretty consistently tasteless and it's all about the toppings). The avocado was fresh and the tomatoes were super tasty. I ate every inch of my dog. The misters and seating options make for a great weekend spot to grab lunch. read more

What a cool place! I can't wait to go back when it's not 100 degrees outside. They have misters and fans so it's not totally miserable but, still hot. They have one bar open and 4 places to eat. We stayed a few hours and as the crowd picked up they opened up a second bar. I got food from the Mexican food place and it was good! I got a burrito. My friend got fries with cheese and carne Asana and those were awesome. The Other food trucks looked really good too. It's super dog friendly so we saw lots of pups running around all night. I'll love to take my dog during the day once it cools down. read more
