The next morning I was at the store and it had to be one of the best shopping experiences I have ever had. I arrived before they opened and while I was waiting I got an email stating my order was ready. I went in and went to the specific counter and they quickly processed some information I needed to fill out and I was done. I was in and out in 15 mins. The only reason it even took that long was I was looking at a few things. They have a great selection of sporting goods. Camping gear, clothing, firearms, even knives are plentiful. All the associates were very friendly and helpful. Store is super clean and well organized. Scheels blows sporting good stores like Bass Pro/Cabelas out of the water. Highly recommend this store.

This is the only pro shop I want to get a ball from. This is just the first of multiple examples where this shop has given good advice/recommendations even when they could have upsold. I had another ball drilled elsewhere but ended up selling it bc the drilling and ball were disappointing.

I sub for my wife's Thursday night bowling league, and after years of using house balls, balls that…read morehave been fingered by half of Plano, Frisco, Allen etc.... I finally decided it was time to get my own. I used to bowl seriously back around the time electricity was invented, in New Jersey so naturally I walked into Chris Warren's Pro Shop thinking I still knew everything. They were kind enough not to laugh. What impressed me right away was that they didn't treat me like a beginner, but they also didn't assume I knew what I needed. Instead of trying to sell me the most expensive ball on the wall, they started asking questions, how I bowl, what I used to throw, what I wanted the ball to do, what felt comfortable, even what colors I liked. Of course, I made sure to explain that I was once practically a professional bowler. "At one time." Now my biggest athletic challenge some mornings is getting out of bed. About an hour and fifteen minutes later, I walked in thinking I knew exactly what I wanted and walked out with a new ball, bag, and bowling shoes. Somehow Chris Warren's Pro Shop turned me back into a bowler. Now when I walk up to the lane with my own equipment, I stand a little straighter. Chest out. New shoes. New ball. I'm thinking, "Yeah, I'm the bomb." Then I throw the ball. Turns out the ball is excellent. The operator still needs some work. First night out: 175, 150, 165. Not terrible considering there may have been cobwebs on my release. But I looked good with my new ball. I also practiced another week while the wife was bowling and threw six games. By the end, I definitely felt more in control and could already see the difference having properly fitted equipment makes. I've also spent years joking about those bowlers who roll into the alley with two or three balls like they're arriving for the PBA Tour. I officially apologize. Because apparently I now need another ball just for the 10-pin. This is how it starts. Great job to Chris Warren's Pro Shop. Knowledgeable, patient, friendly, no pressure, and they actually listened before recommending anything. That's exactly how a pro shop should operate. Ball #2 will be ordered before the year is over. Just don't tell my wife I said that.

Great used gear, great service, and great skate sharpening!…read more I've been coming here regularly since I first started playing hockey last year. At the time I was just trying it out and wanted to get some cheap but serviceable used gear until I knew if I was going to stick with it. I was also a little nervous because I was an adult woman getting into a largely-male sport, and I know from experience with other traditionally male hobbies that that's not always the most friendly environment to go into. But these guys put all my worries to rest! (Side note, I did stick with it and now hockey is a huge and wonderful part of my life. The Dallas adult hockey community is fantastic and welcoming, so if you have ever considered it, definitely try it out! And get your starter gear from Play It Again, they're great!) They were very helpful, spent a lot of time with me finding gear my size (which was more difficult than I anticipated, since as a short woman it turns out I ride the line between juniors and seniors sizing), and gave me a lot of really useful advice about fit and style preferences. For under $100, I left with a full set of gear except a helmet, as I had to go elsewhere for that (the brand of new helmets they carry didn't have a size that fit me comfortably, sadly). I returned several times over the next few weeks as I figured out what worked for me and didn't and they were always great about helping me try different options and returning and exchanging gear with no hassle. And the gear selection they have is honestly great! In the last year I've upgraded most pieces to new ones bought elsewhere, but I still use the same shin guards and pants I got from them in the beginning--and the pants are because they are such a great pair that I can't buy a new pair that is better without spending $200. The MSRP for them new is $160....and I got them for I think $30-40! And they were in great condition apart from some messed up zippers--an easy fix! They also do great sharpening here. I get mine sharpened on a regular basis by them, and while you wouldn't think a used sports equipment store would beat out the two major hockey gear stores in the area, they definitely do. Have never had a bad sharpen from these guys, the only better you can get in the area is up in Farmers Branch. They also have a sharpening punch card, which is nice. Definitely recommend these guys!
