Bodega breakfast sandwich
Marla C.

I got the chicken Caesar sandwich which was on special. And it was amazing. I didn't want it to end! My friend for the breakfast sandwich and loved it! I also got a piece of cookie cake and I enjoyed it. I would love to go back in the summer when you can sit outside.

I love visiting Bloom Cafe regularly and make it a point to go regularly when the weather is good to sit outside. They don't have inside seating but you can find some indoor seats by the greenhouse. Back patio is pleasant and you feel like being in a garden. Couple of seats up front are good for an expansive view. They come and find your number where ever you are sitting. No issues with service ever and they're pretty quick! Love it that they have full coffee as well as food, which is generally quite great and fresh. I had this wrap recently and it wasn't much to look at to be honest, but it was amazing and delicious! :-) The avocado toast was a bit small for my preference. I've had the Bloom Toast and I've loved that too. They have a loyalty program, which I like to have for my frequent places. I figured theirs gets me a latte every 7ish breakfast visits. It's a coffee a year - not the greatest. But if you go with family it will add up to more quicker. Wifi barely makes it onto the patio. Sit up front if you want wifi! Happy to keep going back!

Enjoying an early breakfast which was worth the wait. Late summer/ early fall with the cooler weather and blossoming flowers is one of my favorite times to visit. The summer chia bowl with lemons, berries, peaches and peaches was delicious.

We drove by this super cute spot a few times and I decided I had to go! It's a cute cafe adjacent to a nursery, with plenty of plants, shaded seating and colorful murals. Menu includes breakfast and lunch dishes, and maybe we didn't order the best items but I was a little underwhelmed by food quality compared to the pricing. The spicy veggie sandwich was basic wheat bread with scant toppings, but the sauce was good. The Tuscan tuna sandwich had good flavor but also felt lacking. Service was lackluster and left my coffee sitting on the counter for the duration of our meal rather than bring it out with our food - we were the only customers and there were several employees standing around. Cute spot, come for the vibes.

I loved visiting Bloom Cafe with my girl friends for breakfast over the weekend. It may not look like it, but there is ample seating behind the cafe on the patio, as well as a lounge room, and the greenhouse! You can order at the counter and pay, and the staff will bring the food over to you. I asked for their recommendation on drinks, and I ordered a seasonal cold brew that was delicious. Even though the staff was busy, they were incredibly nice and efficient. Can't wait to be back.

I have heard a lot about this adorable place and, being from the South Hills, never had the opportunity to stop by until last weekend when I was in the area meeting up with friends for another activity nearby. Two of us met at the café to grab a drink and a bite to eat. They have a delicious sounding menu focused on fresh, farm-to-table, seasonal items. My friend got a sandwich, which I believe was on Mediterra bread. I got a Mac and cheese which I have to say was a little disappointing; I just prefer it a little creamier and cheesier. However, my iced latte, which was a seasonal fall creation, was absolutely phenomenal. You order at the counter and they will bring it to you wherever you are sitting, which lucky for us was in the beautiful garden center. We did a little tour of the property which includes gorgeous plants you can buy, as well as all kinds of home decor, gifts, fall pumpkins, etc. There are gorgeous bright murals on the walls outdoors and the whole place couldn't be more Instagrammable. I wish I had been here during breakfast hours as they had some lovely seasonal items such as granolas I would have liked to try. It's a lovely vibe with lovely food and drinks, and I will certainly be back next time I am in the area!

Bloom cafe is extremely cute with a nursery and little store attached in theory I love this place, but the food just doesn't hold up. With my last visit I got the pub turkey panini and a coffee for about $20 and this is how it looked. Anything else I have ordered here in the past has also fallen flat in the same way- turkey was a bit too dry, the garlic aoili had no garlic taste, three singular pieces of arugula. It's just a bit scant for the price point. I think with other pgh sandwich places and cafes as its competition bloom just does not hold its own in food quality. I do recommend going here though and maybe getting a coffee and buying some plants as it is a great spot to at least check out and the employees are very nice. I just would be wary about spending a meal time here, anything more than an avocado toast will leave you pretty unsatisfied unfortunately. (Previously similar experiences with their pastrami sandwich, lox, and chicken salad)

Incredible experience!! We got the Chefs Breakfast Sandwich and the Sweet Potato Hash (special menu item) and both were excellent. We ordered and got our food brought out to us in the Greenhouse seating section. We had fun walking around the Greenhouse area and shop! Definitely recommend.

Staff is very friendly, food and coffee are very good, atmosphere is great... There's a random dog wandering around the property, which is fun. Lots of beautiful flowers and atmosphere.

I love that this cafe is right next to a greenhouse and also has patio seating inside the greenhouse, surrounded by plants and cute gardening merchandise. There's a place to order coffee, along with an area to order breakfast or lunch -- lots of sandwiches and salad options. There's also a little gift shop in the cafe with grab and go options, mugs and little gift items! I loved this place and can't wait to spend a spring morning hwr

Avocado Toast! So good!

I absolutely loved our experience here! I have become a connoisseur of Avocado Toast and was excited to try the Bloom Cafe version. It did NOT disappoint! Delicious! My husband and grandson loved the pancakes. I tried an iced coffee with toasted marshmallow flavoring. I appreciated that the barista checked to see if the color of the coffee was right for me once she added oat milk. It was a lovely day to sit outside when we were there. Pleasant seating in a beautiful garden. We liked that the high chairs for kids were clean and had a nice spot for kids to put cups on the tray. We can't wait to go back.

The bloom cafe is the CUTEST! This is a must visit and something unique to this area. So many breakfast and lunch options. Coffees and seasonal drinks as well! You order at the counter and take a seat and they bring the food out to you. We picked a table in the nursery and it was so fun to eat in there and check out all the plants and fun gardening items. There's also a garden patio with so much seating and a smaller air conditioned indoor area as well. We ordered the Salmon Lox toast and the Chef's Sandwich - both were delicious! We spent some time just walking around checking out the nursery, art, and water fountains. It was the perfect Sunday afternoon spot and we cannot wait to become regulars here!

I wanted to go on a food journey here and was looking for some guidance, I wanted only their best items and Sarah at the counter was awesome! She helped guide me through their bakery, their main course meals and even find some yummy Italian like pretzels for the hummus I wanted to get and overall was just a very nice lady, I wish more restaurants had people like her working with customers! Finally to the food, I ordered the oat & carrot waffles, a brioche pastry and bought some hummus and Italian pretzels from their mini market! Overall, really good stuff! My only gripe is the waffle isn't crunchy at all and feels really more like a cake. The flavor was on point, especially with the yummy Carmel sauce it came with! The brioche pastry with raspberries was incredible as well! Lastly, the hummus was outstanding!! Get it. It's worth it! Overall this place is a must visit in my mind! If you're in the area, try it!

Nice spot. Ordered their breakfast sandwich and a few pastries for takeout…read more Breakfast sandwich was massive. Egg, cheese, tomato, arugula, and pesto all served on a homemade english muffin. Option to add bacon or avocado ($4 up charge each) if you choose. This was delicious, but definitely on the pricey side. Pasties were amazing. We tried the pecan cinnamon bun and a cheese/fruit danish. Pecan cinnamon bun was great, but the real star of this entire breakfast was this danish... it was amazing. Filling was half cheese, half strawberry. So good. Overall, nice spot if you're looking for an elevated breakfast or lunch. Will be back soon!

Examples of menu items are appetizers (e.g., shrimp cocktail and nachos), soups, salads, wings, burgers, flatbreads, entrees (e.g., pasta primavera, chicken, duck, pork chop, swordfish, and A-5 wagyu), desserts (e.g., limoncello and cheesecake), and drinks (e.g., mocktails, cocktails, wines, whiskeys, and beers). My husband and I have eaten here twice--once for lunch last year and once for dinner this year. Both times, we enjoyed the employees' service and the foods. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Passionfruit-Paloma Mocktail - 4 stars - sour. Spring Sangria - 4.5 stars - slightly fruity. Jumbo Pretzel - 5 stars - huge size with beer cheese and mustard sauce. French Onion Soup - 5 stars - This soup had a rich broth, onions, and cheese. Ybor Cuban sandwich - 4.5 stars - nicely crunchy toast with tasty pork, ham, and Swiss cheese and a side of crispy onion rings. Salmon - 5 stars - I ordered this entree both times. The salmon was perfectly cooked and came with flavorful farro grains, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. Filet Mignon - 5 stars - This 8-ounce steak was cooked mid-rare as my husband prefers. It came with whipped potatoes and his choice of au poivre style (black pepper crusted with bourbon cream).

Excellent Food in a Family-Owned Spot, But Transparency, Noise, and a Few Service Touches Need…read morePolishing (4/5 Overall)** I visited Wexford Public (12087 Perry Hwy, Wexford, PA) recently for dinner with my family, drawn by its reputation as a locally owned, chef-driven American restaurant in the heart of Wexford. Owned by longtime locals John and Melanie Dober, it positions itself as a warm, community-focused spot blending upscale comfort food with a welcoming vibe--think handcrafted sandwiches, premium Black Angus steaks, fresh seafood, flatbreads, and daily specials, all with thoughtful wine and bourbon selections. We were excited for what promised to be a polished neighborhood gem, and in many ways, it delivered. The food was genuinely great and the clear highlight. Our dishes were flavorful, well-executed, and creative without being fussy--fresh ingredients shone through, portions were generous, and everything arrived hot and beautifully plated. It's easy to see why so many reviewers rave about the crab cakes, steaks, and chef specials; the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. This is elevated American fare that feels special yet approachable, and we'd happily return just for the meals. That said, a few aspects fell short and left us feeling the overall experience wasn't quite as seamless as the food deserved. First and foremost, the billing transparency issue was disappointing. They add a 3% bank/credit card processing fee to the check (which adds up quickly on a family dinner), but this isn't disclosed on the menu, at the table, or in any obvious way during the ordering process. There's only a small sign posted outside the restaurant. We only noticed it when the bill arrived, and it felt like an afterthought rather than a clear policy. In an era where many restaurants are upfront about surcharges (or absorb them), this lack of disclosure came across as sneaky and detracted from the otherwise positive value perception. The atmosphere was another mixed bag. The space itself is attractive--soft lighting, comfortable seating, and that friendly "upscale brew pub" energy the owners aim for. However, it was noticeably noisy during our evening visit. Conversations required raised voices, especially as the dining room filled up, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal fully. OpenTable rates the noise as "moderate," but on our night it tipped louder than that, possibly due to the layout or lack of sufficient sound absorption. A bit more attention to acoustics could make a big difference. Service was mostly attentive and efficient, but the management interaction stood out in a negative way. When we politely mentioned the surprise fee at the end of the meal, the response was an apology that felt scripted and insincere--like it had been delivered many times before without real follow-through or ownership. It didn't leave us feeling heard or valued as guests. On a brighter note, the owners John and Melanie genuinely come across as lovely people. The restaurant has that personal, homegrown touch you can sense even when they're not physically present, and locals speak highly of them. They were absent during our nighttime visit, though, which is understandable for owners juggling a busy operation--but their warmth is missed when the front-of-house team is handling everything solo. In summary, Wexford Public excels where it matters most: the food is consistently excellent and worth the trip on its own. The family-owned charm and diverse menu make it a strong neighborhood choice for special occasions, casual dinners, or even happy hour in the cocktail bar. However, clearer communication about the credit card fee (ideally on the menu or bill upfront), better noise management, and more authentic handling of guest concerns would elevate it from very good to outstanding. We'll likely go back for the cuisine, but with tempered expectations on the finer details. If you're in the Wexford area and prioritize great American plates, it's still a solid recommendation--just check the small print before you pay.
