Old school, and an aroma that will make any stomach hungry, I struggled to decide on what I wanted -- it all looked good. I was in a hurry, so I got a salted maple pecan bar, and it was scrumptious. This is just one of those bakeries that oozes character between its location, the simple but effective decor, and the offerings they provide. I don't make it here often but when I do I have found the staff to be incredibly friendly and welcoming. My experience is limited to their pastry offerings which have always been solid, but I hope to try their coffee and sandwich offerings during a future visit. read more

I recently stopped here for the first time after seeing how good their baked goods looked on their instagram page! Stopped here for a coffee and a snack while visiting from out of town. Was super inviting and everyone was very nice. I tried a piece of my friend's blueberry danish and immediately regretted not getting one. Very comfortable atmosphere even while they were very busy. read more

Stopped in this past week to pick out some pastries for a family member's birthday. Lagerhaus have a pretty good number of baked goods to offer including various cakes, a brownie, and cupcakes and breads. We picked out four different items (I can't remember exactly what anymore) and then got a hot chocolate too. The employee taking our order was friendly and gave good recommendations and the atmosphere in this shop feels warm and like a throwback to an earlier era. Spent a nice afternoon in Harmony, PA this weekend and found this cute bakery right in the heart of the town. My wife and I enjoyed one of their "peach bars" while sipping on some cold drinks (I had an iced coffee and she had a wonder Lavender lemonade). The inside room had some seats available but because it was such a nice day we sat out front at one of their bistro tables and enjoyed our snack. Texans driving through Pennsylvania, we needed a break from the highway. The town of Harmony and Lagerhaus provided just what we wanted. Delicious sweets and wonderful coffee made right there in a historic building. Very nice proprietor, Trent, took care of our order. A local gentleman was there enjoying carrot cake and visiting with us while we enjoyed a maple pecan bar and a yummy marble cake with chocolate layers. Perfect for our stop. We ordered pies from here last thanksgiving and they were delicious, so we stopped by here again on a rainy Saturday morning and to our delight it was not busy! This is such a sweet family-owned and operated business. We enjoyed all of our breakfast food items and I have to say that the coffee cake was the best I've ever enjoyed! The building it is located in is so incredibly old which gives it so much character. The courtyard in the back is so cute and would be the perfect place to sip on coffee and enjoy a pastry in the late spring/summer/early fall. We will return! read more

I love this place. Great bakery, coffee shop, historical, quaint. Did I mention it is a bakery. (I love baked goods). Well, I saw a big slab of banana cake and couldn't resist it. The cake was banana bread which is great with me. Dense and moist, just like mom made it. But the icing was shortening based and it was heavily iced. Kind of took something away from it. Two words, butter cream. My wife had a Hello Dolly and said it was delicious. I think I just made the wrong choice. The place is amazing. Set in a historic village and the building was historic.
