I'm really glad I listened to all the good reviews here on Yelp. Cocorico is a great restaurant. I…read morewas able to score a reservation for dinner about a week before we traveled to Ashland. Our table was in their patio space, which I actually like better than the indoor part of the restaurant. The patio space feels very open and has a lot of live plants in the planters that make space between tables. It was a little warm on the patio since it was 98 degrees outside, but they keep it relatively cool on this mostly enclosed patio. Our server was great. She was so friendly and fun to talk to. She helped us figure out what we wanted to order and checked in on us just the right amount. You can tell the food here is very fresh and homemade. We started with the Deviled Eggs, which are really special. I love how they serve them over a bed of crushed up potato chips as they give this dish some salty crunch. Next we had the Beet salad, which is marinated beets over a whipped cheese. The beets do have a strong vinegar flavor, but it's balanced out beautifully by the cheese. My wife ordered the Mushroom Bolognese, which was probably the best dish of the evening. This is an incredible, vegetarian dish that is so meaty without any meat. The finely diced mushroom sauce is so good along with the handmade noodles. Also, adding burrata to it gives it a perfect creaminess. I ordered the pork chop, which was also excellent and enormous. It did take me a lot longer to eat since it was a little hard to cut, the compote on top added a great sweetness, but I feel like it could've used more. Also, the polenta and grilled asparagus was awesome. Lastly, we got the Rice Pudding for dessert. It comes with a hazelnut crumble and a dolce de leche sauce. Normally, I feel like rice pudding has a kind of thin, milky consistency, but not this. It is think and has a wonderful texture. It is probably the best rice pudding I've ever had. The nuts give a satisfying crunch and the dolce de leche sauce is light and sweet. Disclaimer: we did order one dish we really didn't like. It was a special salad with endives and lentils. The server was happy to get us another dish.

The food here is great! A little pricey, but definitely worth the price for the quality. The salads…read moreare fresh and creative, and the main courses are well-made and delicious. The pear dessert was so good! The atmosphere is cozy, cute, and a little tipsy--such a fun vibe. The service was also great. Definitely a lovely place for a good meal and a relaxing time!

SO happy we chose this spot! Service is stupendous:…read morefriendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, fun. The Kare-Kare is amazing: the peanut sauce was delectable, and the braised beef just seemed to melt away. Love the green mango salad. Julienne cut mango, perfectly ripened for the dressing for a not-too-sweet blend of flavorings. Perfect. Can accommodate gluten-free. I'll be back again very soon.

Should you eat here? My recommendation is:…read more Yes, if you've stopped by every "New American" eatery in Ashland and want to relive your youthful visit to the Philippines and can't find any other place. No, if you're expecting perfect execution of the classics. Half of what you'd eat here, is more along the lines of "Pinoy-inspired". If you go here, be aware: - There is no fish sauce on the table - There is no vinegar chili sauce on the table - There is no salt on the table - A lot of the dishes here are missing many, many traditional ingredients. Many of which can be pre-stocked ahead of time or grown locally, so there shouldn't be a good reason why these dishes shouldn't have at least 50% of the base requirements. Adobo Chicken Seasoned and fairly traditional tasing with a good bit of seasoning and flavor. IMO lacking some tanginess, but that's a family style preference and can change from place to place. Green Mango Salad Has all the ingredients of a green mango salad but lacks the most important ingredient; shrimp paste and a pinch of salt. Kare-Kare Avoid this dish. I ordered this because one of the first photos showed shank bones (shank or flank is used as an acceptable replacement for what is traditionally Ox tail), so I was fully expecting something of that nature, especially considering shank is plentiful in this area. The meat added was very dry slices. The base lacked salt and fat during the cooking process, so it came out very bland. The string beans were boiled (again without any salt). String beans in this dish are traditionally served fresh, or if you cook them, you cook them in the broth, and/or pre cook them with some type of sodium on a pan and thrown into the pot. And because the base lacked fat that would have come from shank or ox tails, the base really suffered. Another missing ingredient was shrimp paste, and braised eggplant. Very disappointing. Sinigang Don't order this. This dish tased like water with a little bit of tamarind powder. This dish is missing so many ingredients: Taro root, okra, chili, fish sauce, fresh tamarind, water spinach. Powder is fine but it's missing so much that makes this dish unique and flavorful. Also note that this place is on the pricier side, so not getting the basics right hurt a little more than just the wallet.

We went in at dinner time on a Thursday. We were seated right away without a reservation, but you can make one online. I could see them being busy on a weekend or a busier part of the season. There are tables for groups from 2-6. They also had some pinball and other games in the back (as well as some board games in a side room). We didn't find out the ins and outs of the games, but it makes it feel like a place you are welcome to stay at for a while. They had a great kids menu. Our girls both wanted pizza and the observant server recommended they share a pizza because they are not small. It was accurate and kept us from having a whole leftover pizza, even though the prices were reasonable and it would have been a good value. The two adults shared the spicy cauliflower from the appetizer menu and the quesacarnitas tacos. Both were seasoned well, very flavorful, and all around delicious. The cauliflower wasn't super spicy, but it was super tasty so we weren't mad. The place is a brewery but we had cocktails. My husband said it was the best margarita he had on our trip and tasted like it was made with quality ingredients. My Paloma was also good! Overall, we were super pleased with our visit. Gluten free items are marked clearly and there is also a gluten free bun and pizza crust to choose from. Highly recommend before or after a play or a day of shopping in the Main Street area of Ashland.

It's basically glorified bar food, which is what you would expect at a micro brewery. Everything was piping hot and nicely presented.
