There are sooooooo many comic books scattered around that I'm pretty sure Wade doesn't even know what he has. Sure, sifting through all that inventory can be overwhelming, but that's part of the fun. Each trip is different as the staff uncovers and prices additional stock from the shipments of yesterday (and yesteryear). So, it's like a race against time to see what gems you can find before they even realize what they have! Allow yourself plenty of time, though, because it is very easy to get lost for hours as you comb through the bins and boxes of eras and stories gone by. But that's why I love it. Unfortunately, there are some things I wish they could do better... like with their pricing, which isn't always consistent. Some books aren't labeled or in a designated price box. So then you're left up to the discretion of whoever works the cash register that day to determine what they want to charge for it. I also used to be a big fan of their VIP program, which, for $15, offered some discount on almost everything in the store. Plus, a $10 credit on your birthday month. So it paid for itself and then some. But as I recently learned in my last few visits, this isn't always the case. It's really left up to the discretion of whoever is working the register that day whether or not they want to honor it. ‍ But the staff is still very polite and helpful and I do enjoy coming here. It's one of the better comic stores in the region and has been that way for years. If you're in the area, check it out!

As we walked in I felt like I was a teenager myself - a trip for sure down memory lane. The selection of vinyls and memorabilia was amazing - and Randy was such a great person to meet and talk with. He had such awesome stories to share with my grandson and I. If you are a music lover or collector take the time to visit this store - you won't be disappointed. I look forward to visiting Randy's store again with my grandson. The town itself I learned from Randy is filled with it's own history and stories.

I went here for Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) as a way to finally get a feel for the place. But I figured FCBD was the perfect opportunity since most shops use it as a way to connect with and introduce new patrons to their business. Upon opening the front door, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly cat. I thought, okay, this is my type of place, being a cat guy myself. But that's where the warm feelings end. Unfortunately, the feline was the only friendly personality here as the owner didn't want to acknowledge or make it feel like I was really wanted. (And after reading some of these other reviews, I can see that I'm not alone in that regard.) As for the selection of books itself, there is certainly a HUGE selection of new releases and back issue bins to go through. Unfortunately, all the back issues are priced at market value or higher. Not exactly a competitive price considering all of the other local comic book stores in the same area have much better pricing. Plus, dollar bins.

It's also located next to The House of Fun toy shop. Interior of the shop is nothing to look at; it's rough and could use a renovation. New pull selection of comics was fair, but had a good selection of graphic novels. Almost no wall books to speak of. Where this shop stands out is, like the other location, is the large longbox selection. This takes up the majority of the shops space. An important item worth noting is the shop does have several comic cats. They are friendly and like pets. Overall, while this location could use a renovation, I think it's easier to access and better then the Philadelphia shop.

It's relaxing to shop there. It's a great place for the curious to find a new subject to delve into. I was visiting my mom in Manahawkin in October 2020, as she turned 90. I hit this place once and came back two days later. Both times had the place to myself with the owner. This cat has one of the finest stores I have ever seen. I carry notebooks looking for my top 21, top 100 in about 5 genres. The first day I found 4! this rarely happens! the second comb through, I casually asked him if he had any Dixieland. He knew his inventory, jumped around the counter and placed me in a section to die for. I bought 3 mint LPS from the early 50's and late 50s in this category. I was missing one Kinks lp (Nottingham Hillbilies) and just one more Aretha Franklin.....and sure enough he had them clean and fairly priced. I have been looking for Humble Pie's first two albums and BAM, found a double album of both I did not know existed. I can't wait to hit this shop when my mom hits 91. So glad I flew into Philly instead of North Jersey.

Final straw was when he made a crack about his employee being a lesbian. Of I were her I would've knocked the crap out of him then and there. There are plenty of jobs out there. It's nice to see FYE back in the mall with a revamped storefront, but I can't help comparing it to…read morethe original location. The new store feels more like a mix of pop culture merchandise than the music-focused spot it used to be. While it's colorful and has plenty of things to browse, it doesn't capture the same energy or atmosphere the old store had. Back when FYE was down at the other end of the mall, it was all about music. Rows of CDs, posters, and the thrill of discovering a new album made it a hangout spot for teens like me. It wasn't just shopping, it was part of growing up--meeting friends, flipping through racks, and walking out with something you couldn't wait to listen to. The new version just doesn't bring back that same feeling. It's fine for what it is now, but it will never replace the memory of the old FYE that was such a big part of being a teenager.

There were many items here to catch my interest and make me wish that I had more youngsters in my life to buy them for. The shop is packed with cool stuff, but it is all displayed in a way that you can mosey around without constantly bumping into others doing the same. Despite having a reputation for high prices, I decided to check it out, and it very recently…read morechanged hands. The new owners are incredibly friendly and knowledgable, and are curating quite a deep selection of desirable discs, all impeccably organized and labeled. Best yet, these labels show not only the standard quality grades but also other important details. As I walked in they were just putting out a large batch of immaculate Japanese pressings of 70s and 80s rock and jazz recordings, all in NM condition complete with obi bands. As I'm primarily interested in sound quality, I was truly in heaven. And it gets better... I was able to audition all my potential purchases on their quite decent system, all of which I bought, and they sound flawless on my very high resolution system. Note: the prices marked seemed very fair (Japanese imports in NM condition are normally very pricey) but I my case they discounted the price considerably because I bought three albums.
