The name is certainly fitting, considering the madness of how much supply is here. Boxes stacked…read moreupon boxes stacked upon boxes everywhere you turn. There are sooooooo many comic books scattered around that I'm pretty sure Wade doesn't even know what he has. Sure, sifting through all that inventory can be overwhelming, but that's part of the fun. Each trip is different as the staff uncovers and prices additional stock from the shipments of yesterday (and yesteryear). So, it's like a race against time to see what gems you can find before they even realize what they have! Allow yourself plenty of time, though, because it is very easy to get lost for hours as you comb through the bins and boxes of eras and stories gone by. But that's why I love it. Unfortunately, there are some things I wish they could do better... like with their pricing, which isn't always consistent. Some books aren't labeled or in a designated price box. So then you're left up to the discretion of whoever works the cash register that day to determine what they want to charge for it. I also used to be a big fan of their VIP program, which, for $15, offered some discount on almost everything in the store. Plus, a $10 credit on your birthday month. So it paid for itself and then some. But as I recently learned in my last few visits, this isn't always the case. It's really left up to the discretion of whoever is working the register that day whether or not they want to honor it. ‍ But the staff is still very polite and helpful and I do enjoy coming here. It's one of the better comic stores in the region and has been that way for years. If you're in the area, check it out!

Started going to Dewey's regularly after my local comic store went online only. And believe me, it…read moretook me a while hunting for the next perfect comic shop when my old one had done such an amazing job over the years. Unbelievable, but there are a lot of comic shops around that are just not professionally run (I'll just leave it at that) Dewey's is definitely a solidly run comic shop. I had been to them a few times in their old location, but parking was horrible over there so I didn't go often. Their new location in Dover actually has great parking so it is easy getting there. At first, the professionalism of the store sold me on making it my regular store. But as I kept going back, i realized just how amazing the staff is there. They know their comic stuff, and are really friendly. I found out after I had praised John (the main counter staff) to a friend that he has been there for many years and is a big part of the store's appeal... I can definitely see that as he's been nothing but amazing to me.. When I set up my pull list in the beginning, I mentioned that in addition to my main books could he throw anything Captain Cold related in. Yes, i know it was a vague request that couldn't be "programmed" easily, but I figured I'd mention it. And I've been delighted to find non-Flash books with Captain Cold showing up in my box. That was impressive on quite a few levels. I joined Dewey's for the professionalism, but am staying because of the friendliness and amazing attention to small details... highly recommended!

Updated, I love this shop and the people who work there, they are friendly, reasonably priced and…read morethe shop is well organized and its easy to find what you're looking for and comfortable if you're just browsing. Mike the owner is very accommodating and it very fair to sellers when making offers to buy their books. (Often explaining how much they would be resold for an makes a reasonable offer based on that price). Mike and Jackie have excellent knowledge about Comics, Toys and Funco Pops and serious collectors shop there weekly because of them. I'm at a total loss for why there are some bad reviews here, Yes they have a sign that they are always buying, but you are best calling ahead and asking when the owner is in (which is almost all the days). As he is the one that will make the best offer and he really knows what sells well and doesn't. (Avoid Sundays and Mondays if you are there to sell your collection). Word to the wise, when selling a collection, it is always best to call ahead, see when the best time to visit is and see if they are interested in your collection. If they are, this is a great place to deal with as you won't get robbed. Naturally they are a business and need to stay profitable and need to buy at a rate that allows them to mark it up, but you aren't going to walk in with a rare comic that is worth $500 and walk out with 20 dollars, I've seen Mike buy and he is very honest. (Sometimes that means that he has to refuse to buy items that he can't sell, and other times people walk out with much more than expected. A reviewer complained about parking during a snow storm. My feeling is that the person with the car parking problem wasn't even dealing with the people who own the comic shop, probably from another business or an irate person who is a customer of the vacuum shop. Another reviewer said that they didn't feel comfortable there and I find this hard to fathom, I've always felt comfortable there and noticed that they treat their regular customers like family, often knowing about them, their jobs and families and remembering to ask them about things that they have shared about their lives (Changing Jobs, Children's health, Weddings, loss of family members, etc.).

I only ever stopped into Main Street Comics once while passing through the area. I was certainly…read moreimpressed with how clean and organized the store was, along with their overall collection of back-issue books. So, I spent some time going through most of their bins. Unfortunately, the condition of those back-issue books rarely reflects the significantly higher prices they charge. As an avid comic collector and seller myself, I'm well aware of market value. And their prices are well -above- market value. Keep in mind, this is only regarding their back issues. The new release section had standard new-release pricing and was well stocked. So if I ever decide to visit again, it will only be for the new releases and nothing else.
