Shop has plenty of parking. Nuke 'Em is the sister shop to Phantasm Comics located in New Hope, PA. Interior is crowded, but in a good way. They have a large selection of dollar long boxes which I found to have many nice books, but also have CGC graded books. They do not have new pull comics here. Toys and collectables are stacked floor to ceiling with an excellent and interesting selection. Manga selection, which is located towards the back was good, along with the graphic novel selection. They have a selection of Blu-ray's and Science Fiction books. Staff member was excellent, helpful, and great to chat with. This shop reminds me of an old school comic shop and is very much worth the drive to shop at.

This place is definitely off the beaten path (about an hour or so from Northeast Philly), situated in the middle of nowhere with sprawling fields and Jersey farmlands with just a few other businesses around. However, it's easy to get to and there's plenty of accessible parking in their large lot. The store has some new releases and a small selection of individually priced back issues, but their main attraction is the massive collection of dollar bin treasures. And while the bins are a bit of a mess with no real categorization, digging through them is part of the fun. You never know when you'll stumble upon that key issue or hidden gem nestled in the stacks. Sometimes, they even run sales where you can snag comics for as little as fifty cents (pay attention to their holiday sales). That said, the condition of the comics varies, so be sure to closely inspect what you find to avoid any unpleasant surprises later on. I spent about four hours there during my first visit and still didn't get through the entire dollar bin section... it's HUGE! (I was able to complete one side of the bins, though.) But Nuke 'Em also has toys, merchandise, trade paperbacks, DVDs, and apparel, if comics just ain't your thing. **Bonus Tip: They have a clean bathroom, which is always appreciated when you're there for hours or need to wash your hands after flipping through thousands of comics.

Plus, the organizational system for their back issues is a bit wonky. There are comics stored away in filing cabinets and some stored in bins. But trying to follow an alphabetical approach is a lost cause as the layout doesn't follow a conventional system. (The owner will definitely need to explain it to you.) Most of the issues, if any, aren't even boarded to begin with, which leaves the books stuffed in the bins becoming damaged each time someone thumbs through them. I have fond memories of going to places like Forbidden Planet's original two floor Manhattan location, Jim Hanley's Universe near Herald Square and Bill & Bob's in Brooklyn. As a young Nerd these were formative experiences that I treasure. Sadly, as the digital era encroaches on publishing, comic shops are not as common as they used to be. There was a time were almost every other town or neighborhood had one, but nowadays they are few and far between. I used to go to Classic Comics in Rahway but they went downhill at top speed a long time ago (and have since closed). When I was hunting for a new shop to park my pull list Rogue Comics came up in my searches and I'm so glad it did. While I originally went to the location across the street, not much has changed with its new location. This is a medium sized comic shop, so not as big as say, the current Forbidden Planet in Manhattan but it doesn't need to be. A lot of the goods here are condensed, almost to the point of clutter at times but that just means there are plenty of treasures to be found. Roughly the layout is Transformers, blind boxes, DC, Marvel and Diamond Selects stuff towards the front. Then a wall of Marvel and DC comics with new releases in the middle. Towards the back are more obscure comics and a Star Wars section. Lining the upper shelves near the ceiling are higher end items like HasLab vehicles or Hot Toys/Sideshow style figures. At the main counter are lots of statues on display (and of course, for sale). Pete, the owner is awesome. One of the things Geeks love to do is "talk shop" about the latest goings on in the world of scifi/fantasy and comics and he is a font of knowledge. If you need something he doesn't have, he is more than happy to see if he can get it for you. I have my pull list set up at Rogue and I rarely have issues with it. Maybe once in a blue moon an issue may be missing but I just look through it, ask about it and most of the time it's in the box somewhere so no big deal. The prices at Rogue are fair given that it is a small business. For action figures, don't expect Amazon prices, but given they often have stuff you won't find in stock at say, Target, the extra few bucks are well worth you burning gas to find the figure all over town. I love Rogue Comics and recommend it to anyone interested in scifi/fantasy collectibles and comics.

Picked up a few favorites and chatted with the owner, who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I've popped into this LCS a couple of times when I'm in the area, and each time I'm massively let…read moredown. But first off, the good... The location is on a cozy little side street in a cool-looking town, not too far from Princeton. There's side-street parking, but it's easier to park in the tiny lot next to the shop. Inside, there is a regularly updated new issue section. As well as a decent selection of trade paperbacks. And the employees who work there are always super nice, friendly, and tremendously welcoming. However, the same cannot be said about the shop itself... Not only is the inside incredibly dusty with dirt in the bins and on the floors, but the boxes of back issue comics (which mostly sit on said floors) are completely unorganized and in the worst possible condition. Some books are bagged and boarded, some are loose and falling apart. Comics are so tightly packed in some bins that you can't even properly go through them without damaging the spines of multiple books. Now, regarding the selection in those back issue bins, most of it is $1-dollar to $2-dollar bin-worthy. Sure, you might find a couple of keys every now and again, but they are not worth the high sticker price given their condition. I remember the first time I was in the shop, when most of the back issues hadn't been priced out yet, and I was told that unmarked books were cover price, or $1 if the original cover price was below a buck. Now that pricing structure makes a lot more sense, I guess, given the general condition of most of the books. But as of my latest trip, most of those same back issues are now sticker-priced at incredibly high levels and do not reflect the general condition of the books (F-VG quality at NM prices). Plus, trying to access the bins is a challenge in itself since the shop is relatively small and there is often debris in the way or stacks of clutter on top that you have to move first, including a trash can that sits directly in front of a few rows of bins by the side entrance. So, until I hear they've lowered prices, carry better books, and just all-around better present the store itself, I won't pop in here again. You all have superhero charm, but you really need to clean up that shop to keep it from entering into supervillain territory!

I stopped by in the afternoon to look for an old Hulk issue and missing Nightwing for the current run. I wasn't sure what to expect when approaching the building as it just looked like a house but was excited to see how cool it was inside. Lots of posters right as you walk in for various ongoing/past comic series. They also have a large selection of back issues in all the different boxes with each series that they house labeled with a divider. I am personally more of a comic book person but they have lots of Funko Pops and other toys or action figures in the shop too. They even have a selection of old video games in the very back of the shop as well. Plenty of hardcover and trade paperback books as well. They really do have a good bit of everything for a smaller shop. I went in looking for really only 3 comics but ended up walking out with nearly the entire Spider-Boy run as they had just about all issues and I had been thinking of picking it up. One of what I believe is two owners was kind enough to give me a discount on the spider-boy books since I was buying so many of them for which I was very grateful. I only really had one complaint which is small for me but may be larger for others. Not all of their back issues are bagged and boarded at the time of this review so don't expect the back issues to be in very high condition. Additionally, even though the back issue selection is labeled. It is not easily discernible where each publisher starts or ends as in some areas they are mixed but in others they are separated. Regardless of that, I still had a phenomenal experience and would love to visit there again and even more regularly! Very kind service, very good selection, and very fair on pricing. I would recommend stopping by if you're ever in the area if you love comics, toys, or anything collectible!

It does have other items for sale though, such as books and some specialty items. In fact, I'm not sure if I'd describe it as a toy store with books or a book store with toys. If you're bringing your children, they will be loading up their cart, so be careful. It's very easy to spend a lot of money here very quickly. The day we took our granddaughter they were featuring items made by Schleich. Their big attraction Memorial Day weekend was a small scale, yet still large by kid standards, motorized T-Rex. Even if not an inexpensive trek, it was a good time for all. The photos will help you understand.
