I'd been to the Digital Press Videogames location in Clifton, which is awesome, and only discovered…read morethis location because my kid spotted it when we happened to drive past it. Vowing to return after our event, I brought two of my kids and one of their friends, and we all geeked out over the selection of vintage and used video games for practically every system released since the advent of the Atari 2600. The staff was super helpful in answering questions about legacy systems. There were plenty of amazing values on games from ColecoVision and original NES through the Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch 2 and everything in between. The coin-operated arcade games and pinball machines, with a few free options, were also a blast. Digital Press is an absolute treasure.

I am always in favor of independent game stores still out there buying and selling preowned games…read moreand not affiliated with GameStop. This I believe is the second location of the two Digital Press Videogame shops, if you're a gamer, you feel at home walking in. There are games and accessories from nearly every generation so if you're a collector and want to lay eyes on what you're looking for as opposed to online, it's a necessity to come here. There are operation arcade machines here from 80's to 90's including a few pinball machines. The counter has employees who of course are gamers and what game store wouldn't be complete without regulars who hang around and talk about games as well. As I browsed around the store I was taken back through all the generations which was a good feeling, knowing that stores like this still exist. I could go on about why DPV is a great store, but I'll go over my experience on my latest visit. I went to unload a few games I had no use for anymore and could not sell them alternatively on C-list and the like so I came here. I got a better amount than I thought both cash and store credit (store credit of course being a bit more). Again, if you're a gamer or someone looking for games from yester-year and want to avoid online, try here.

I highly recommend stopping into this place for three reasons…read more One, you need a serotonin boost Two, you're a tourist and want something very New York and actually unique to the city that you won't really find anywhere else Three, you're a collector or thinking about getting into retro video games Video Games New York has been around forever and I really hope it stays that way for a long time. It honestly feels like one of the last spots in the city where you can walk in and see this huge, slightly chaotic collection of games and consoles all in one place. The Nintendo 64 section is probably my favorite part. They have so many different variations it's kind of nostalgic overload in the best way. And they've also started adding video game soundtrack vinyls which is really dope and fits the vibe perfectly. The staff is also super cool and really knowledgeable without being overbearing. Just don't go in only to browse. Try to grab something if you can, even if it's just one of the anime themed sodas or a small piece of merch. Places like this really feel like they deserve the support so they can stick around.

They also buy your used items for credit or cash. With the Knicks win, they had a video of KAT visiting here with all his nostalgic for videogames. The husband definitely found so much joy being here and the collection is quite a hidden gem. The people who work here are very knowledgeable.
