I have been frequenting this store on and off ever since they opened. In that time I have always found something new or interesting to add to my game collection every time I stop in. The staff are all knowledgeable and friendly answering any questions I may have. The prices are very fair and quite often below their compilation and they always have been generous when I trade in games with them. Service was great, their selection is huge. It was an experience to go too honestly. We were excited since we drove an hour to the store. There was a woman and man at the counter, I believe they were the owners, but they were great. They even had a bodega dog who was super cute. I don't think the PS2 was overpriced at all that we purchased. My only issue is the plugs that it came with were complete garbage. It does not work. Immediately upon opening from the saran wrap I looked at the plugs, it was missing the gold bar things which is what gives the connectivity to the tv. The store was great and the people were great. I've shopped at this store several times over the last few years with varying degrees of success. I was in the store this Sunday afternoon ready to buy some strategy guides when I overheard the owner talking with a customer about a boy who had just left the store. They were bad mouthing and making fun of a boy who had just left. Granted, the boy was playing with the plush toys and did not buy them, but to hear them make fun of his possible disabilities and how "annoying" he was really was upsetting. On a separate occasion I took my fiancée to get some ds game and at the time the owner's mother was helping him out behind the counter. He was treating her like garbage, disparaging her for not knowing where games were in the cluttered mess that was the front counter (though the same could be said for any horizontal surface in the place.) If you want a review of the store beyond how the owner treats patrons and matrons, I can offer this: shop somewhere else. Support stores that do not lie about the availability of games just because they don't have them. Sad to say, but true all the same. read more

I've heard so much about this place. When I saw it was close to where I was I definitely had to check it out, bc duh!! Nerdy game chick. Small store, but crammed to the gills with everything an old school game nerd could want. Guy was super nice. He buys, sells and trades. Hea fair and reasonable. Certain games warrant higher prices for desire factor but hes still reasonable on prices. He has a web site and is on Facebook. I had to control myself in there. DS LITE, GBA,PS1,PS2,NINTENDO,SEGA,GAME CUBE ETC. games games and games. Even consoles of all sorts. This place is paradise for the old school game and collectors. I probably could've spent all day in here if friend didnt pull me out. Lol. So much to see in this store. I will definitely be back when I have more time to spend hours in there. It was also nice to see that i wasn't the only woman in the store.. they also had a decent selection of accessories, such as controllers for many systems, guitars for hero and rock band. The cashier was extremely rude, what more do you need to know? Even when asking the price for unmarked items they won't acknowledge you and instead will just reach out their hands for the item without any conversation. I know you are going to scan it but where is the dialogue? Not only that, they were dismissive of our presence in the store and treated the checkout process like an inconvenience. Despite the place being totally under-lit, dim, dank, and not as well preserved as it could be they do carry a good array of items which I was looking for. They've got cool vintage stuff in the window but they're painfully sun damaged, looks bad. They have reviews for these same criticisms dating back 3 years, clearly you as a customer don't mean anything. Hope it was just an off day, such EASY improvements to make. Look good and put on a good show, that's business and if you can't provide it you won't make it. Won't be back. Stopped in today after a meeting I had in that area. Walking in first thing I noticed was the absolute mess that was everywhere dark lighting dingy dirty and stuff just laying around everywhere no organization whatsoever. Saw some games I was interested in the case the guy was helpful at first as I was walking the store I noticed there were games in every direction nothing was in a certain area I noticed I missed some games behind the counter I saw one game that I was actually very interested in purchasing and asked how much the game was the gentleman behind the counter said he had to look it up. I asked him it was not priced already like the rest of the games I saw another case. He then gave me an attitude said he was gonna look it up real quick that became three or four minutes because he was having some sort of issue with the Internet I then asked him why wasn't labeled like the rest of the games at this point he just really shot me a nasty remark. He then goes on his phone at which point I noticed he was looking on eBay or price charting. If you can't price your games and I have to sit there and ask for each game behind the counter how much it is and you have to look each game that's ridiculous.I noticed I believe the higher price games were not marked. Needless to stay this will be the last time I go into the store. Very unprofessional and the store honestly look like a dump. Do yourself a favor and go to Digital Press in Clifton for outstanding service and a clean environment or another one of my favorite spots the game zone in Hillsdale New Jersey much better options. A cool shop we'll run by nice people provides a nice environment to shop and hang out. Fair prices for buying and selling makes this the place to take games to (stay away from cheats like GameStop who pay pennies on a dollar). The owner is very interested in having surprises in his store so he doesn't share his new acquisitions online. This makes for fun repeat visits, as you can be the lucky person who was at the right place and the right time. Very happy with the people and the service here. read more

This is my favorite video game shop in the state, and probably the world. I enjoy everything in this store upon walking in. The employees are fantastic to me and everyone I've seen enter the store. The store owner is a great dude and his coworker is one of the most polite people that I have ever met. When I enter this store I feel like singing a song from a SpongeBob episode and that song is called "The Best Day Ever." The store has the most extensive video game collection I have ever seen and is fairly priced based on all different places I've stopped at to look at prices. The owner has got better prices then what I've seen online on ebay and Amazon. Totally 100 percent genuinely fair prices. The store is also humongous and that's amazing for the amount of stock they have. They have amazing Super Smash Bros tournaments too. In closing, I hope this review sheds some light on the TRUTH about this store. Other reviewers don't seem to have been truthful. Plus I'm pretty sure someone has posted multiple reviews? Place was a wreck when we went in--which wasn't really a big deal at first because, you know, it's retail and things get switched. That is, except the guys working there would cut in front of you while you're browsing without so much of an excuse me. Hell, I'd even take a "f*ck you" if it was an acknowledgement that they cut us off. When my fiancé went up to ask one of them for the cost of a controller he started by asking the guy if he worked there--not hard to see why since they hadn't even acknowledged we were in the store and there were about 5 of them so we had to be sure. Guy rudely answers back with a mocking "what do you think?" To which my fiancé was like "...just had to be sure" and asked. Once we got the price I looked at him and just said lets go--totally awkward and rude atmosphere. Seriously, take your money somewhere else. Looking over previous reviews this isn't the first time these people have shown they don't know how to run a business and I wouldn't be surprise if it isn't their last. Let them run it to the ground then. There's seriously cooler, nicer places you can go to to spend your money than this dump. read more

I really like this place. They have old games and that is like 80% of the review, The rest of it is atmosphere, and for me they have it. There are games on the shelves, games in the cases, games in the boxes, this place is serous about getting the corner on the retro game market. It just has a good feel. Listen, concept of the store is absolutely phenomenal, amazing products inside the venue. But, I must say the two employees (as we refer to them as the battered step-brothers) are tremendously awful, zero personality, can literally not keep any form of conversation, all-time worst employees. It is like they don't even want to be there, I mean hell give me a job there, I will have people coming in just to see me. I get that it is probably annoying having people come in to trade games in and having to deal with nonsense but common that's what you two signed up for. The one is notorious for giving me the worst one word answers ever, I would ask him an interact question that normally requires more than one word in response not for my man Pete Griffin. The store selection is more extensive than I would have ever imagined. That is just about the only good thing going for this place. This place is so dirty and unclean that it is hard to find anything you may be looking for through the dusty haze. And don't even get me started on the smell. The smell is so pungent it reminds me of the SpongeBob episode where they have horrible breath and think that people are afraid of them because they are "ugly and proud." On top of the atrocious organization system utilized by this store (or lack there of), the customer service can be described as lacking. There are only two employees to my knowledge, and I find the one employee, Cameron, to be an appalling human being. He is routinely rude to the customers and today I witnessed him refer to a customer by a derogatory term. Cameron also frequently quotes prices as nearly double the price that the items should be going for, even if they are missing certain items or in a terrible condition. Update: a few days after posting this review, I received a scathing message from a fellow yelper (who I can only assume is connected to this business) accusing me of making this review up. Checked this place out recently. The selection of games here is impressive. A lot of import and hard to get games . Downside is a lot of games aren't marked for price . May seem like a small thing but , I'm not interested in negotiating prices when shopping . Also a lot of games are over priced here . I'm giving this store a 2 star rating and that's me being generous because of the huge selection of games they have. The place had a very odd smell to it had crates and boxes of games everywhere didn't have enough room to really walk around with another person there. The assistant was very polite and very helpful, but the store owner is a force to be trifled with. He was very rude and thought it was OK to display his power by screaming at assistant in front of everyone there!!! Then had the nerve to try to charge me triple the value of three games I wanted. I understand that you got bills to pay but please do try to work with people. They go in there having an idea where price wise these games are worth and supposed to be at. I don't understand all the negative reviews this place gets. I never have an issue when I shop there. People's gripes seem to mostly be about the disorganization and the customer service. First, the place is small, but they have A LOT. So, yeah there's stuff everywhere, but the games are all separated by consoles and alphabetized. Second, as for the customer service, I've never had a bad experience, actually I've experienced the exact opposite. These guys know what they're talking about. They're very knowledgeable and have an answer for every question I've asked, and as for some games not having prices and them looking the price up on the spot, the prices of these games are always fluctuating, so I appreciate that they look up the price. Walked in and wow a big whiff of bad body odor and after walking around finding no a whole lot I was interested in except for a few the guy (I guess owner whom I will now call stinky) looked up prices on a game I was interested in and shot me a $28 price on final Fantasy tactics for ps1. But the green label is cheaper? Not even gonna work with me, it's a $23 get at very best. I know your a retail store but not willing to work with your customers will put you out of business. And speaking of which. Clean your store cause it looks like your going out of business, boxes everywhere, it smells like mold, and a old gym bag, there hardly any space to move if there more then 5 people in there it's so small. At least make an effort or you'll look like the Trade1 store. All in all, lots of Commons,over priced, poor conditions in establishment and in the games and they won't clean them for you unless you pay extra (bullshit) and nothing new generation. If your looking for a great game store and willing to make a trip I highly recommend Classic Game Junkie in PA. OMG, Did I just enter a serial killers basement? My son was asking for weeks to go here so I took him yesterday. We left in about 5 minutes. Would it be too much to ask for one of the people working there to say "Hello", or "can I help you?" since we were one of two customers in the store? They looked at us and said nothing. Ok, fine some people just are not friendly, I still gave it a chance. But once I was subjected to the full moon behind the counter and gagging from the literal mounds of dust, we left. Dude behind the counter please buy a belt and perhaps when you see a mother and child maybe watch your language. Owner, feel free to purchase a dust rag or use the the pants of the guy behind the counter as he needs to buy pants that fit anyway. read more

Solid Two stars for the staggering amount of games squeezed into the store and location, but the dynamic between the two employees is strange. The kind fellow with the pony tail (the owner?) appears to be the beta to his employee, who regularly berates him. Many of the games behind the counter, which would be considered the more desirable in the store, are not marked with any price. These seem to be dictated by the fickle whims of the eBay market at the moment rather than just having a set price like a normal store. So the owner has to look up each game that you are interested in while you stand there, which could take a while. Also games are not priced by condition, meaning if you see a game behind the glass display that interests you and is in nice condition, well, that's not the one you're getting! They will pull the funcoland technique of giving you whichever copy they pull out of the drawer, which is usually stained and has lots of crud and torn stickers on it, but they still charge you full price. Overall, I wouldn't really say I've ever gotten a good deal here. in fact I've left more times than not feeling more than a little ripped off and maybe a bit of shame. But I still like checking in from time to time to make me feel a little better about myself and for digging thru the old games. Just as long as employee does his employee thing and stays in the back playing with inventory. read more

Nice small store reasonably priced. Staff is very friendly and a very good selection of gaming goodness. Can't speak for their trade in prices since I haven't traded anything in yet but my last visit they had plenty of unusually uncommon games including complete in box cartridge games. Parking can be tricky but worth the effort. I highly recommend them! read more
