So much preciousness jam packed into one little corner store. We found Needohs (as well as a plethora of other squishies), Jellycats (even a few hard to find ones!), and a bunch of Japanese mini stickers (for me!). Locally owned and so well curated. This place is a total gem. read more

They have some Jellycats from way back!!! Not going to mention which ones but you should go check it out in case there is something that you are hunting for. I found my GF's grail here and they had a few more of the same one in stock!!! Super friendly staff as well. A must visit! read more

JaZams - Toy Stores Near Me - Princeton, New Jersey

A toy store, mix of learning and just plain fun toys (blind boxes galore as well). Nicely, they limit purchases of the jellycat toys so people can get a chance to buy them. Some random stuffed and blow-up toys, children's books and board games. This is sort of what I think of as the Shop Around the Corner vs the big box (Amazon since no more Toys R Us). Eclectic mix of toys and gadgets and fun stuff for kids. They also have a bathroom for customers. Located in the Palmer Square area beside Princeton University. read more

Beautiful store with lots of nice items but unfortunately, I think they forget they're a toy store for children. Not friendly, didn't greet us when we came in, totally ignored us, and seemed annoyed by the fact that my child was in the store. read more

Unique selection. Friendly staff. Reasonable pricing. This place has a unique selection with a friendly staff. Jennifer was super helpful with my purchase. I am definitely coming back here. I hope you find this review helpful. Have a great day! read more

Need a gift? See Mike. With his help, you can wow the child(ren) in your life - including those who are kids at heart. This toy mecca has been in Palmer Square near the Nassau Inn for 28 years! And I always stop in because it has such an amazing, well-merchandised selection. The latest, the greatest, the hard-to-find... it's all here! And considering the huge selection, it is fairly easy to navigate. And if you are overwhelmed, Mike is your guide. This is Princeton and prices are fair for the local market. And they offer free gift wrapping to boot! read more

What a beautiful, quality store. They educate while pleasing with a mix of conventional and unusual toys you won't find elsewhere. And books. Oh, yes. And books! read more

This is my favorite kid's store! I wish this was around when I was a kid. There are so many great things in there - I could spend all day browsing. I've been in here a couple of times throughout the years, and visited again recently this month. I just kept thinking "this would make a great gift...for ME" lol. Toys, books, stickers, plushies, etc etc. The store is pretty big, and has something in every corner. Don't miss out on the odds & ends in front of the cashier area (I wanted to buy myself one of those cool wood spinning tops). read more

I went in to get a birthday present for my 4-year-old granddaughter and a lovely woman helped me find two gifts which were absolutely perfect. She listened to my thoughts, concerns and guided me to the right selection. I would highly recommend jazam's . Additionally, she ensured that the presents would get there on time as I was a little behind schedule in purchasing. read more

The staff are always so helpful and nice on the phone and in person. If I needed a product held bc I was away (more than the avg. 3 days) they kindly held it & didn't just say we can't do that. read more

Nice shop and the owner truly cares about the quality of the toys and makes sure that what they are buying is good. In the past few months they have started having more and more 3d printed toys which I don't understand but read more

Fun for kids of all ages this "toy store" seems to specialize in educational and science games with a strong overlay of chemistry sets, small scale racing and trains. It's Princeton so your little progeny better be fluent in Mandarin or nothing here will make any sense. Of course I'm kidding but their selection of age-appropriate diversity and inclusion books and literature is enviable. Great for a browse when you're strolling Palmer Square and even better when your looking for an ingenious one-of-a-kind gift for the Young Sheldon on your list. An easy five stars and an even easier nine planets. read more

The toys are awesome and there are toys for everyone from a 1 week old baby to a 120 year old man. I especially love the fidgets and have all the squishy balls but my mom may like them more! The service has also been great and they can rap stuff for you. Last the value is great. read more

Of course we had to come here while in the area. My son of course liked the most expensive toy in the place plus it wasn't even a toy you could just buy and leave with lol. It was some big wooden type of toy you'd like order. It's not their fault or anything, it's just like leave it to my son to love that kind of thing. Instead we picked some reasonable toy car for him and a helicopter he still loves months later. read more

This store has an amazing selection of really unique items. I will definitely be coming back for gifts.

This is the most amazing toy/book store I have ever been in. It had a big footprint but it is also filled with thoughtfully curated collections of books and toys for every age group. I wanted to spend more time browsing than I had but what a wonderful experience. If you are in Princeton it is absolutely worth working in a stop here. read more

Lots of toys and books to choose from for my 5 year old. We spent over a half hour browsing and playing.

Wow- we all absolutely LOVED this toy store. A definite must visit with your little one!

Great toy store ! So excited to take my daughter to a toy store and browse around. They were very friendly ! Masks were mandatory which they also have if you do not have one. My daughter tried the scooter out and explored toys for Christmas ! read more

What is it about toys that is so captivating? Sure, you've probably outgrown most of your childhood playthings. But I'd venture to say that there's some toy from your past that immediately makes you feel like you're six again. (Remember the movie Hook? Those "happy thoughts" make you just flyyyy.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpuG2VBbOlo ) I ended up in JaZam's one night by sheer luck. Being in Palmer Square, I thought I was going in a KB Toys or something equally mediocre. I played on my phone, feigning enthusiasm for the plastic dinosaurs my friend thrust in my face. And then I looked up, and there it was. THAT toy. The one that in a Peter Pan movie would totally make me fly. The one I've tried ordering online only to discover it's been discontinued AND is impossible to find on resale sites. The one I'd almost lost hope for. There it was: just one, just for me. I hugged my prize as I continued around the store. The sales clerk obviously loved his job and indulged my friend and me in various demonstrations of toys and contraptions as we discovered them without pushing us to buy or breathing down our necks. Our over-educated minds struggled to grasp how some fun designs worked, and Super Amazing Sales Clerk even took a robotic insect out of its packaging so we could play with it. (Robot bugs? Awesome, btw.) There were craft kits, Folkmanis puppets, miniatures, stuffed animals, puzzles, models, backyard toys... This is truly the kind of place that would make Kris Kringle proud. read more

This place is a real gem. Great selection, friendly staff and free gift wrapping. I did all my kids Xmas shopping here again this year. I feel like I'm cheating on them when of if I shop elsewhere. I'm very happy to support a locally owned, family run store. I know firsthand that it makes a difference. Amazon doesn't need my money nor will they get any. I'm voting with my dollars to help keep small shops going. Please consider doing the same. Otherwise P-ton will simply become a food court, eventually occupied with national chain restaurants. read more

I've been ordering gifts for my favorite kiddos in NJ since quarantine started. The selection online is fantastic and the service is so personal. They gift wrap and write cards, making the experience so special for the kids (and me!) This type of service is why small businesses matter so much! read more

Okay.. this store kind of makes me want to be 7 again (*sigh* when life was easy and full of fun). It seriously seems to have every random toy (including some huge easter eggs ??). Came here looking for a good puzzle as there are very few other options in Princeton. More than satisfied (1,000 pieces, 2,000 piece, and some crazy big ones). I'm not a parent but I bet bring your kid to this store will keep them entertained for hours. read more

Such a fun place for your kids to explore, and a great spot to find unique gifts. Everything is very high quality here and many of the toys are heirloom, wooden toys. You will not find cheap toys here because there are no low-quality items, so don't be shocked at the upper-middle class price tags. Having said that, the prices do reflect the craftsmanship! The staff is always around to answer questions and there is a restroom on-site. read more

This is an awesome toy store for younger kids. My family happened to stumble onto this place while walking around Palmer Square in Princeton. The toys here are unique compared to the bigger chain stores, and many of them educational as well. Walking around the store, looks like it'll mostly appeal to kids 12 and under. There are many books here as well. This store is pretty cool and a nice respite from the adult stores for the young ones. read more

Great toy store in downtown Princeton. I was impressed with the prices-it's really not pricier than other places for the level of toys you're getting.(Legos are always expensive.) They had a nice variety of toys and books from baby to tween. read more

Celebrating birthdays is so big for young children and with the Covid lockdown becomes so fraught. AndJoanne and Michelle(?) at JaZams helped me so much with getting lovely and appropriate gifts for our 5 year old granddaughter. Joanne even made it possible for me to add a gift at last minute and coordinated with the delivery person to pick it up and take them to Pennington. she and everyone at Jazam made it a happier time for Iur granddaughter and all of us. I so appreciate all the suggestions, help , and personal attention. Along with super selection. read more

Shortly after my brother and his wife made the wildly irresponsible decision to make me the godfather to their only son, I discovered Jazams. And while it annoys the absolute hell out of me that no comparable toy store exists withing the limits of Philadelphia, this place is always worth the travel. And the 40 or so minute drive to Princeton is eased with a joint or a coffee cup cocktail. And the town is a real charmer: all lush and green and dotted with wild bursts of yellow forsythia and spots of pink tulips in spring; white and brilliant, all covered in icing, twinkling with Christmas lights during winter. One should wear a camel hair blazer or a cowl necked sweater under a trench if possible, when traversing the tiny streets of Palmer Square. The children will be better dressed than you anyway. But still. Mothers unload strollers from Audi wagons in Lilly Pulitzer. You'll walk slowly, as in a daydream, past boutiques full of strange soaps and ceramics. Stop somewhere along the way, and taste the olive oils from Sardinia. Look, isn't that where Einstein bought his flatware? It is fun to make believe you may be mistaken for a graduate student. Your 1992 Suburu Legacy is safely tucked behind Chambers Street. Walk wistfully past Princeton Record Exchange. Remember the thrill of skipping school one Tuesday during Sophomore year to buy the new Belle and Sebastian record. And how there will never be anything as wholly satisfying as smoking Camel Lights with the windows down, racing through moneyed hills, whipping past the Governor's mansion with "The Boy With The Arab Strap" bouncing through Ben Posey's red Accura. But you are an uncle now--the cool uncle you insist--and you must make an impression for Christmas or his birthday. Your nephew is only 2 years old, a dozen years before you can sneak him a cigarette or a sip of your Jack and Coke at your cousin's wedding. So you must stake your claim with a toy. Walk into Jazams, through the open doors flanked by handsome families. Children in red Wellie rain boots will spill out before you. But no babies cry here, no noses run here, no shrieking tears here. A pig-tailed girl sits in the corner quietly reading "The Lorax." Her mother fingers the button of a Japanese robot. A salesclerk who looks uncannily like a young River Phoenix shows you to the Shoenhut toy pianos as you request. You test the keys by playing the melody of a song you once wrote drunk. Hand-carved alphabet blocks come in French, Arabic, Italian, Spanish, and Braille. German-engineered tricycles and rocking chairs stare from lacquered shelves. A clock designed by Bauhus. When did Keith Harring make those puzzles? There is nothing ugly, though baby's first cappuccino maker does seem a bit garish and wrong here. You settle on a toy wagon that costs more than your car insurance. River places a lovely bow on it, then wraps the Mr. Potato Head you bought for a gag in wrapping paper designed by Paul Klee. read more

I can never take my eyes off the toys outside the windows and the door. So many toys...even life sized toys...I like toys.... I love going inside and just looking around at the different types of toys they have. It's really organized in there too! Check it out sometime, you won't regret it :) read more

I LOVE Jazams! I tend to peek in here every so often, and it gives me so much joy and I have so much fun looking at the beautiful toys they have to offer. I don't have any young kids of my own, but I am the proud god-momma to two girls under the age of five, and proud auntie of another rascal, a four year old boy; add in the fact that my friends and family are approaching the age that they will all be having children, I have much need to buy many a fun toy. I like to find really good, fun, substantial toys, those that serve an educational purpose, can help with development, etc. Jazams has such an amazing variety of toys; a lot of traditional favorites- stuffed animals, trains, legos, , and a lot of toys from newer companies, that focus on being eco friendly or educational, etc. They also have tons of art kits, creative toys, and fun stationary items, that I have bought for myself. You can find yourself spending a lot of time here- last time I was in here, a half an hour passed without me noticing! So many cute things to look at and so many things that I plan to pick up for the holidays. The staff is a lot of fun young kids, who are always very helpful. read more

A lovely welcome to the otherwise mundane Princeton shopping district, which seems to be more geared towards ice cream/frozen yogurt stores or overpriced restaurant fare. Whether or not you buy anything (because it is slightly more expensive that Toys R' Us), the experience itself is certainly worth recreating. And that's why I keep coming back. Quality products. Friendly staff. Cool store. read more

Um, I love this store. I wish I was a kid still, or knew a small child I cared about so I could justify spending literally hours browsing the aisles and playing with all their fun stuff. Quirky but extremely well organized. Kiiiiiind of borderline missing staff member syndrome, but whatever, it's a frickin toy store. If you can't figure out how it works, how do you expect a child to do the same? Princeton prices, people from Princeton shop here. Ugh. I can't blame that on Jazams. Oh, also they have probably the most amazing puzzle selection ever. I bought Mad Libs and had fun filling in only dirty words, which brings me to: I'm ultimately glad I'm not a kid still. read more

Such a fun, cute, unique toy store. It caters to all ages SERIOUSLY. I came in looking for a gift for my niece. And I found myself playing with everything that I can. I was so immersed in the store that the time flew by. Take your time, enjoy looking at all the mobiles, play with the toys that are on the floor, and just get lost in the moment. Yes, it may be a little more than your average toys r us and amazon. But you probably won't find a lot of these toys anywhere else. Tip 1: they gift wrap for FREE. Tip 2: park in the parking deck across the street and they will validate your parking. FREE PARKING! read more

12/28/09 I love this store and am surprised that it took me so long to wander inside. This is a traditional toy store--a lot of the classic wooden items, Legos, horses on sticks, bins of tiny (ie 1" or smaller) items, goofy things such as a quacking duckie keylight... I felt like a little kid again. 12/14/15 2 kids later and I still love Jazams! Perfect for birthday parties with toys in all price ranges, and a staff who has actually tried out all of the toys! The marble runs are impressive too--Q B Run sets that look like they're from Tron, Quercetti sets from Italy, then Haba if you're loaded. Now that we've lost our marbles, replacements are .19/each, cheaper than ppm for bags of 50 on Amazon. Most of the items are competitively priced too (there's a rumor that they're expensive, but yes, I've checked, and no, either the same price, slightly cheaper, or slightly more expensive.) They also have these fantastic tops that spin forever. If you're a parent, go here for swag bag gifts for the birthday parties---nothing will be tossed by the parents. The keychain tape measure actually works. Aunt, uncle, single? Get toys & recommendations here. They seriously have everything, plus a knowledgable staff and free wrapping. Ok, maybe not everything--haven't seen Barbies or Playdoh, but they do have Legos, instruments, drawing sets, tea sets, BOOKS!, and, yes, sparkly princess, er, stuff. Great before kids, great now. :) read more
