This bookshop has a wonderful selection that is arranged very well. Every time I go to Frenchtown…read moreI stop by and buy a book or two or more. The reason for my 3 stars is service. Maybe I am the a..hole, but today I bought a bunch of books, paid for them and noticed they have wrapping. Two of the books were for a child's 1st birthday, I so asked if those could be wrapped. The owner said yes, (she was checking people out) cut the wrapping paper and the proceeded to help the next people in line, who were not in line when I checked out. The next customers has a bunch of question about water color painting and brushes, for which I waited. Then the customers wanted some brushes that where in the cellar. The owner then left to go get them. Meanwhile, I am just left stranded. I took the two books back and left the store. I was a little upset, even said WTF as I left. (Not too proud of that, I just amazed I was being disregarded). I returned to store, waited in line and returned the books. While I waiting I overheard the cutters who were given priority talking trash to the owner about what had happened. Am I wrong? I am not sure I'll go back.

Beautiful house, and given the small space they have, they have a pretty good selection. Independent bookshop, hard to see these days, well kept. They also have a small, beautiful corner, one can go and read. The owner is helpful to give you suggestions and answer the never-ending question. One must stop by here if you are in the town. Better than any commercial book store. The prices were standard along the lines of a B&N, and the store did offer many sale items and books. Everyone working in the store was very friendly and attentive. Will go back if I'm in Princeton again.

My favorite is their curation of books which also reflects US social/political/economics at any moment in time you are there, although the space holds books on any subject you want to look for. I know that when I walk in there I will for sure find something that would catch my interest. Probably because the store is located right across Princeton University campus, the selection of books is always very educational and diverse in voices and subjects. But unlike in other bookstores near universities, I noticed, Labyrinth still maintains an independant vibe. Once I walked in for books about writing, and found lots of books I have not heard about or seen in B&N or any other bookstores. It was like a breath of fresh air to walk into a bookstore and find something different than what I am used to seeing and discover new material. Books are priced the same way they are in other bookshops. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Labyrinth also offers games, it's own branded merch and art by NJ local artists. If you are or are not a booklover - you should definitely check it out. For example one time I went there with my boyfriend, who isn't as big of a reader as I am due to his busy schedule and doesn't purposely keeps up with literary news as I do - and he still found some books that caught his interest that he purchased! I wish Labyrinth was my local bookstore!

The kids section was pretty ample and they had a nice little table and chair set up that he enjoyed just sitting down and looking at a couple different books which helped us make a selection. They also had some plushes including a very hungry Caterpillar one that he absolutely loves, which we ended up getting as well. The one plush did not have a sticker of course and the people behind the information desk were super helpful and. I ended up getting something from my mother at least while they were willing to go in the back to check stock because they were out of it on the floor and that you able to get me one. I feel like the prices of bucks are pretty standard as their prices are listed on. The cover is typically so I don't think there were any more or less out of line with other booksellers. They also happen to be running a sale at the time so the whole store was 25% off. Would hesitate to bring him back here. Maybe we can buy another book but as far as a retailer goes pretty kid friendly and the staff has always been super nice.

Owner is sooo friendly and very intelligent! She is always helpful when asked and happy to talk about literature or family. The woman working there was not very friendly, and when I first "found" her (she was not visible, and I said, "Hello, is anybody here?", to which she did not reply), she acted as if I was bothering her. She asked me what genres I was interested in, went and pointed out where a few were, and then left me. She was then talking to a regular customer, and seemed more interested in "gabbing" with him. There was no explanation from her of their pricing scheme, and since she was chatting with that customer, I felt like I should ask another customer, who was nice enough to explain it. I guess that I was spoiled by Labyrinth Books the day before when I was in Princeton, which gave me excellent customer service from every employee there that I came in contact with - probably the best I've ever had! I plan to return to the area, but I will never come back here.
