Went there for free comic book day and picked up two comics. Thanks so much! I'll definitely be back.

Updated, I love this shop and the people who work there, they are friendly, reasonably priced and…read morethe shop is well organized and its easy to find what you're looking for and comfortable if you're just browsing. Mike the owner is very accommodating and it very fair to sellers when making offers to buy their books. (Often explaining how much they would be resold for an makes a reasonable offer based on that price). Mike and Jackie have excellent knowledge about Comics, Toys and Funco Pops and serious collectors shop there weekly because of them. I'm at a total loss for why there are some bad reviews here, Yes they have a sign that they are always buying, but you are best calling ahead and asking when the owner is in (which is almost all the days). As he is the one that will make the best offer and he really knows what sells well and doesn't. (Avoid Sundays and Mondays if you are there to sell your collection). Word to the wise, when selling a collection, it is always best to call ahead, see when the best time to visit is and see if they are interested in your collection. If they are, this is a great place to deal with as you won't get robbed. Naturally they are a business and need to stay profitable and need to buy at a rate that allows them to mark it up, but you aren't going to walk in with a rare comic that is worth $500 and walk out with 20 dollars, I've seen Mike buy and he is very honest. (Sometimes that means that he has to refuse to buy items that he can't sell, and other times people walk out with much more than expected. A reviewer complained about parking during a snow storm. My feeling is that the person with the car parking problem wasn't even dealing with the people who own the comic shop, probably from another business or an irate person who is a customer of the vacuum shop. Another reviewer said that they didn't feel comfortable there and I find this hard to fathom, I've always felt comfortable there and noticed that they treat their regular customers like family, often knowing about them, their jobs and families and remembering to ask them about things that they have shared about their lives (Changing Jobs, Children's health, Weddings, loss of family members, etc.).

This place sells fake signature books and misleads customers. I will never shop here again.read more

A very cool comic shop with a lot to offer for comic fans…read more With their ever-present Halloween decor and surprisingly organized interiors, Gotham Comics is not your run of the mill comic shop. From new issues to back log, everything has a neat and tidy place, making browsing quick and effortless. They place a variety of mid-level rare comics ranging in price from $15 to $40 near most of the comic shelves, which make for both excellent window shopping and dangerous impulse purchases. They have a nice selection of old and new comics, mostly from DC and Marvel, so Gotham might not be great if you're looking for more obscure or niche comic brands. Similarly, this is a comic shop first, and things like games have a small presence. I also have to mention the staff working at Gotham. The employee was super helpful, going above and beyond in looking for issues that I couldn't immediately find. He made my visit feel extra special. The only downside with this comic shop is that it isn't located closer to my home! Otherwise I'd go there every week!

Quaint little comic book shop that totally gives off the "local comic shop" vibe from the 90's…read more Take it for what it is, and don't expect it to have everything you're looking for. But if you're looking for mainstream new releases, chances are you'll find them on release day (maybe the week after too). Not too much else to look at, especially collectibles, so your visit will probably be a whole lot shorter than other comic book shops (which is better for your wallet). But if you're in the area and you're in a pinch for that new Batman comic, this is your place. It was a hot day when I visited and they just had a couple floor fans running. Nothing gets me out of a comic book shop faster than sweaty hands on loose/unbagged books. And for parking, expect to circle around a couple times (plan to pay for a meter). But service is super friendly and they take card. And like I said, for what it is/does it's still a 5 star place

Above these shortboxes are a fair selection of toys and collectables. Behind the counter are Pop Vinyl's, variant comic covers, and wall books. They also sell some sports cards and collectable card games. Employee was helpful and knowledgeable. Player 1, who was new to completive play, shuffled his deck after a deck search, but did not offer it to Player to for a cut before drawing from a card effect. Player 2 called a judge after this happened. After reviewing the situation, the judge issued Player 1 a warning for failing to present the deck for a cut. Following this ruling, Player 2 became visibly upset and began using profanity and getting very angry, where I was feeling unsafe. Player 1 attempting to deescalate the situation responded, "you don't have to rule shark me over it." Player 2 then escalated the situation by saying, " meet me outside and see what F***ing happens" along with other curses and violent threats. The head judge, Alan, attempted to disqualify both players, despite Player 1 being the target of the threats. Player 2 left the venue. Player 1 stated he would contact the police regarding the threats if he was disqualified, the judges allowed Player 1 to stay and finish the tournament, where he placed second. During the tournament, Judge Alan proceeded to act unprofessionally towards Player 1, and threw prize packs aggressively at him at the end of the rounds. After the event concluded, the judges informed Player 1 that he was banned from future tournaments at that store. Based on what I witnessed, and as an active member in the community and pokemon professor, I believe this decision was unfair, as Player 1 did not instigate the confrontation and was subjected to direct threats from Player 2. This store and the judges have a very bad reputation in the area, being unfair to new players and unsafe for women to play. The judges have also made fun of the community calling them "autistics". I strongly believe that they should not be in good standings with the Pokemon Play Community and should not be a sanctioned store.

Inside the store, the first area to greet you is board games, with options for different game styles and interests available. Pretty ok selection for reasonable prices. Towards the middle of the store is the cash register area on the right with collectors' "weapons" displays overhead for safe keeping and display. To the left is a section with American DC/Marvel comics and a small shelf of manga. Further back is a smaller, more specific modeling and other comic related section, followed by open tables in the back for Magic and other card games. Terrific idea to incorporate tables for player interaction and provide a space for gamers to enjoy games in person. In the very back is an e-sports area with consoles and computers set up. When I visited, these weren't in use, but good idea for non-covid times. I also noticed signs posted up for special game nights on certain days a week, for example one sign listed a Pokémon weekly game night. Covid-related: staff wore masks as did most of the patrons. There is a sign on the door requesting customers to wear face coverings. There did not seem to be a limit on # of people in the store, and when I was there on a Saturday early afternoon there was probably around 10 people in the front section of the store and about a dozen seated in the game-play area in the back.
