The name is certainly fitting, considering the madness of how much supply is here. Boxes stacked…read moreupon boxes stacked upon boxes everywhere you turn. There are sooooooo many comic books scattered around that I'm pretty sure Wade doesn't even know what he has. Sure, sifting through all that inventory can be overwhelming, but that's part of the fun. Each trip is different as the staff uncovers and prices additional stock from the shipments of yesterday (and yesteryear). So, it's like a race against time to see what gems you can find before they even realize what they have! Allow yourself plenty of time, though, because it is very easy to get lost for hours as you comb through the bins and boxes of eras and stories gone by. But that's why I love it. Unfortunately, there are some things I wish they could do better... like with their pricing, which isn't always consistent. Some books aren't labeled or in a designated price box. So then you're left up to the discretion of whoever works the cash register that day to determine what they want to charge for it. I also used to be a big fan of their VIP program, which, for $15, offered some discount on almost everything in the store. Plus, a $10 credit on your birthday month. So it paid for itself and then some. But as I recently learned in my last few visits, this isn't always the case. It's really left up to the discretion of whoever is working the register that day whether or not they want to honor it. ‍ But the staff is still very polite and helpful and I do enjoy coming here. It's one of the better comic stores in the region and has been that way for years. If you're in the area, check it out!

Player 1, who was new to completive play, shuffled his deck after a deck search, but did not offer it to Player to for a cut before drawing from a card effect. Player 2 called a judge after this happened. After reviewing the situation, the judge issued Player 1 a warning for failing to present the deck for a cut. Following this ruling, Player 2 became visibly upset and began using profanity and getting very angry, where I was feeling unsafe. Player 1 attempting to deescalate the situation responded, "you don't have to rule shark me over it." Player 2 then escalated the situation by saying, " meet me outside and see what F***ing happens" along with other curses and violent threats. The head judge, Alan, attempted to disqualify both players, despite Player 1 being the target of the threats. Player 2 left the venue. Player 1 stated he would contact the police regarding the threats if he was disqualified, the judges allowed Player 1 to stay and finish the tournament, where he placed second. During the tournament, Judge Alan proceeded to act unprofessionally towards Player 1, and threw prize packs aggressively at him at the end of the rounds. After the event concluded, the judges informed Player 1 that he was banned from future tournaments at that store. Based on what I witnessed, and as an active member in the community and pokemon professor, I believe this decision was unfair, as Player 1 did not instigate the confrontation and was subjected to direct threats from Player 2. This store and the judges have a very bad reputation in the area, being unfair to new players and unsafe for women to play. The judges have also made fun of the community calling them "autistics". I strongly believe that they should not be in good standings with the Pokemon Play Community and should not be a sanctioned store.

Inside the store, the first area to greet you is board games, with options for different game styles and interests available. Pretty ok selection for reasonable prices. Towards the middle of the store is the cash register area on the right with collectors' "weapons" displays overhead for safe keeping and display. To the left is a section with American DC/Marvel comics and a small shelf of manga. Further back is a smaller, more specific modeling and other comic related section, followed by open tables in the back for Magic and other card games. Terrific idea to incorporate tables for player interaction and provide a space for gamers to enjoy games in person. In the very back is an e-sports area with consoles and computers set up. When I visited, these weren't in use, but good idea for non-covid times. I also noticed signs posted up for special game nights on certain days a week, for example one sign listed a Pokémon weekly game night. Covid-related: staff wore masks as did most of the patrons. There is a sign on the door requesting customers to wear face coverings. There did not seem to be a limit on # of people in the store, and when I was there on a Saturday early afternoon there was probably around 10 people in the front section of the store and about a dozen seated in the game-play area in the back.

Nuke 'Em is the sister shop to Phantasm Comics located in New Hope, PA. Interior is crowded, but in a good way. They have a large selection of dollar long boxes which I found to have many nice books, but also have CGC graded books. They do not have new pull comics here. Toys and collectables are stacked floor to ceiling with an excellent and interesting selection. Manga selection, which is located towards the back was good, along with the graphic novel selection. They have a selection of Blu-ray's and Science Fiction books. Staff member was excellent, helpful, and great to chat with. This place is definitely off the beaten path (about an hour or so from Northeast Philly), situated in the middle of nowhere with sprawling fields and Jersey farmlands with just a few other businesses around. However, it's easy to get to and there's plenty of accessible parking in their large lot. The store has some new releases and a small selection of individually priced back issues, but their main attraction is the massive collection of dollar bin treasures. And while the bins are a bit of a mess with no real categorization, digging through them is part of the fun. You never know when you'll stumble upon that key issue or hidden gem nestled in the stacks. Sometimes, they even run sales where you can snag comics for as little as fifty cents (pay attention to their holiday sales). That said, the condition of the comics varies, so be sure to closely inspect what you find to avoid any unpleasant surprises later on. I spent about four hours there during my first visit and still didn't get through the entire dollar bin section... it's HUGE! (I was able to complete one side of the bins, though.) But Nuke 'Em also has toys, merchandise, trade paperbacks, DVDs, and apparel, if comics just ain't your thing. **Bonus Tip: They have a clean bathroom, which is always appreciated when you're there for hours or need to wash your hands after flipping through thousands of comics.

Please enjoy a monster packed sandwich at 7's Deli next door if you come here. On to the review of the comic shop...This place has a lot going for it, graphic novels rack with 30% off, tee-shirts, wall comic books (expensive sought after comic books that are fun to look at on the wall) and what appears to be a large back issue stock. I was killing some time and only bought a comic book oversized sleeve with a backing to protect the first appearance of Shadow Moon Premiere issue 23. I recommend you stop in as they have everything from Alf put together figures to very nice pieces of art work detailing comic book icons. Very glad this store isn't too far away but if I am being honest I buy 99% of my comics online. Maybe time I branch out and give the retail store some of my bucks, what is it they say, spread the wealth....or the remaining few dollars we have on disposable income : ) As always people SYOY!!!

Great selection of toys, comics (current issues line the walls, lots of back issues, and lots of wall books for serious collectors), a lot of trades (which are really well organized which is something that I think a lot of comic shops don't do nearly as well as they should - these guys do!). They also have a nice selection of Hot Toys and statues, as well as tshirts. What puts this place over the edge? The staff. This is not your stereotypical comic shop staff (which, to be fair, is not as common nowadays as when I was a kid) where the clerks would look at anyone who came in that wasn't a regular as an outsider to be shunned. These guys make all feel welcome, even those who know nothing of these nerdly delights. I've seen them help moms search for something for their kids as intently as regulars looking for a new book to try. The best thing I can relay, though, is a time I went with my son - we walked in, were greeted as we did, and went about perusing the store. As we walked around, one of the clerks came over to us, asked if it was ok to give something to my son, and gave him a little plastic Flash ring. It wasn't fancy but it was a touching gesture that made me and my son feel welcome, even moreso than we already had. So if you're looking for a comic book shop, this is your place!
