What an amazing place. Big selection of vinyl, new and old. I could've been there for hours, but I found what I was looking for. I was going to purchase the new version of this album, (The Dave Brubeck quartet, picture posted) the owner saw what I was purchasing and pulled out a used for less than half the price. I was shocked. This is the type of service that makes you wanna go back. Outstanding!! Princeton record exchange is located near a parking garage, which is perfect because the parking in the area is tough. I can't wait to go back

This place is located on Tulane St, North of the campus. I'm really not sure how you can give this place lower than 5 stars. Maybe because the records are not in alphabetical order? The people are friendly and there are many deals to be found, of all genres. 12" singles! Are you kidding me for $1. Yes you need time to search for what you are looking for but whatever you find will be a real deal. This place is great.

Was so excited to visit the Princeton Record Exchange and I can tell it is definitely extremely popular. It's a pretty large store but it's definitely crammed. There were TONS of people shopping and it made it hard to walk around the store and there definitely wasn't a ton of space to walk around people browsing. I also wasn't totally a fan of how they organized their records. There were some mixed in amongst like cds and it was a bit hard to navigate. I also feel like their prices were a tad higher than what I was use to. It's definitely a cool spot, I liked the overall vibes but I think I am definitely spoiled with my home town record spot and I think they have a much larger variety and better organization. With that being said, I'll be back! It was definitely neat to check out !

The Princeton Record Exchange is a huge store that offers a massive selection of records, cds, movies, and more. This location is simply a must while you're in the Princeton area. My SO and I always make it a point to stop in, and we always leave with at least one thing to take home. They have a diverse collection of music, so you're sure to find something. If you see something there, grab it, because it's most likely a fair price and harder to find elsewhere. Don't spin around in circles, head over and treat yourself to a new record.

dont find my most want band cd ,but i find some surprise ,great shopping experience。

This place is awesome! I came in without knowing what to expect and didn't expect much with the music that I like but, I was wrong. They truly have something for everybody. Prices were surprisingly really good too. The staff at the check out counter were very friendly. I definitely recommend visiting if you like music and come when you have a lot of free time because personally I didn't want to leave!

Grand entrance. Less impressive than you might think. But the place is ENORMOUS!

Ask the Community - Princeton Record Exchange

    Do you take CD donation?

No, thank you for thinking of us, but we do not take donations. Your best be would be Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc.

Do they have a clearance section for LPs?

There are plenty of discounted used records on site. I don't believe that there's any new vinyl on clearance, but there's a hefty amount of used records available if you're willing to spend some time digging in the crates!

Do they have classic rap music vinyl records?

I have picked up some great Rap LPS in the past. They tend to be reissues, but a nice selection. Walk down the middle isle to the back part of the shop and funk R&B rap and hip hop is on your right.

As a gamer myself, I was completely elated and the little boy in me could not help but be in supreme awe of the store. Do I wish it was a little more organized yes (that's just me and my need to want things really neat) and according to the owner it was when he was in a bigger store a couple of miles away. Oh, had I known about him before and seen that store. I think I would've worked there part-time just to sift through all the games I've played and maybe replay them just for fun. See how far I can get through Mega Man X, Contra, TMNT and even the Power Ranges on SNES. Sorry, I had a that's so raven flashback moment. I'm back. Where was I? Oh yes, The variety of games, accessories, systems, cables. You name it, he's got it. Even if you don't see it, he'll know exactly where it is. The owner is super nice and lets you browse until you get tired. I am looking forward to going back to check out more games. I mostly get games to send to nephews overseas and they are already excited for what I'm sending. The prices may seem high, but honestly what you probably paid to have them when they first came out was double if not more so to me he is being fair especially for a small business.#SupportSmallBusiness #Gaming #ForeverTheCoolNerd See you soon and thank you for taking me down memory lane. Super welcoming, no pretension, just real love for music. The clientele was friendly too. We ended up having some great conversations with other diggers about what we were flipping through, which always makes a record store visit memorable. The selection was better than I anticipated, with a really solid mix of new and used records, and the prices were more than fair. Highlight of the visit: scoring a near-mint copy of the 1977 first pressing of Foreigner. Couldn't have been more fitting to buy it today, with "Cold As Ice" on the tracklist and a windchill of -8 outside, it felt meant to be. If you're anywhere near Levittown, PA and love records, Positively Records is 100% worth the stop. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.

I generally go to The Record Exchange in Princeton, NJ or Double Decker Records in Allentown, PA for the selection and pricing. This store is tiny by those standards, but they had some titles that would normally be snatched up in a busier store. For that I was grateful. The owner is eager, but I fear that he might be stretching himself a bit thin carrying a couple of arcade machines, some stereo equipment, a listening station that takes up about 25% of his capacity, books, T-Shirts and cassettes. I wouldn't mess with half of that stuff if I were him. There were alot of records I could never get through because they were literally on the floor and my back doesn't care for that. The guitars and arcade machines have to go. Not enough space. He was having a dollar sale on several boxes of records, but many of them were too banged up to consider. I'd call it a day on 80% of them in his shoes. It's a decent space, but it's definitely out of the way for most folks. Belvidere is farm country, but they are on the main drag with a liquor store, a coffee shop, a CBD store and a bodega all within close proximity. Parking was decent. The prices were a little high, but I can forgive some of that due to his store size and relatively small selection. I found maybe 10 records I wanted at their price points and I got out of there for $120. Try doing that at those other stores I mentioned. One really cool thing is that the actual price tags peel right off the LP jackets without the need for Goo Gone or worrying about ripping the covers. Almost all of them were already in plastic sleeves which really classed up the joint. Keeps the fingerprints off the good ones. Most of actual vinyl I looked at was in fairly good shape. I found a smattering of $5-$7 records to buy so that was good. I would say there were another 5-7 records I would have bought if their prices were maybe $5 cheaper. A used record, unless it's very rare and or in extremely high demand, should never exceed $20 in my opinion. At that point you may as well buy a new one. I got the impression this guy was a rookie retailer, but he was extremely accommodating and even offered coffee to the folks shopping. Not a particularly good idea with the likelihood of one handed spillage high, but it spoke to his humanity. I was impressed. Their logo is very cool and I would have bought a jersey from them, but they didn't have my size. In summation, if you are around Central NJ, give this guy some love. He could use it. I'll definitely be back for sure.
